We visited in February when unknown to us was the film festival, the weather was perfect, town seemed quiet even with film festival which was a bonus, still able to grab tickets. Plenty of restaurants to choose from, lots with outdoor eating with patio heaters. We enjoyed the SB Whale watching trip we did, small exclusive boat made us feel VIPs and saw plenty of humpback whales. Easy to walk around the town, but also easy to drive and explore neighbouring Montecito

For seafood, Lure is amazing!!! Chad's and Cajun Kitchen are great breakfast spots.
If you are there on Sunday, see the Art/Craft Market at the Beach. Lots of amazing stuff and all the vendors are so friendly.
Also, a huge recommendation to Olive Hill Farms in Los Olivos. Great place for oils and vinegars.

Loved the beautiful landscaping and architecture everywhere.
Loved the beautiful landscaping and architecture everywhere. Clean city and easy to navigate while driving but MapQuest misguided me numerous times. Excellent ethnic food restaurants. Lots of choices. I’m recommending “Meet Up” Chinese, “Your Place” Thai and “Masala Spice” Indian foods. Meet Up was first place I’ve ever been served by a robot!!!! Very cool!

Santa Barbara has a lot to offer from beaches to hiking mountain biking to sailing and other outdoor adventures. I would have liked to have more time to explore. Relax at the rose gardens at the mission, hike more, beach sunsets and dinner downtown. Getting around is easy. Biking is fun! I would avoid the traffic in the funk zone on Friday night. Park in a paid lot and walk in is what I recommend. Also check out the Farmer’s market downtown on Tuesday nights and Saturday mornings. Wishing everyone a great time!

Scenery is fabulous.
Scenery is fabulous. We were there over Christmas and the biggest challenge was finding places to eat that would be open and not fully booked. Several museums were either closed and closed early. Zoo was lots of fun, open on Christmas Day, and a manageable 2-3 hour visit to see everything. Interesting shopping was limited -- go to nearby Montecito to shop if you're looking for higher-end gifts and clothing. For a twisty but spectacular drive over the mountains, plan a 1/2 day trip to Solvang or Los Olivos.
This is a great hotel to stay if you are visiting Santa Barbara. The hotel is located quite close to the beaches and other attractions. The hotel also offers free parking. The rooms are quite spacious and very clean. They also have a microwave and a fridge. Other than that, the room also have a coffee machine and free coffee. The hotel also has an onsite laundry that the guest can use. It also has a restaurant that is open until 8:30pm. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Good breakfast. Great hotel and I can recommend it to anyone.
I stayed in a room with a king size bed. The bed was quite comfortable and the bathroom was spacious. The hotel is located on one of the main streets near the beach in Santa Barbara with easy access to several restaurants and attractions in the downtown Santa Barbara area. The staff at the hotel were all very kind and helpful. The hotel grounds are well kept with beautiful landscaping.
The location was perfect for our purposes in Santa Barbara. Quick and easy walk to State Street. Beautiful hotel and grounds. Nice courtyard area for guests to sit and relax. Room was clean and very quiet. The hotel provided a basket of individually wrapped scones, cookies, oatmeal and toiletries plus a bottle of wine from Santa Barbara Winery at check in.
We LOVED it! We arrived quite late and were welcomed by super friendly staff who offered us snacks and fresh cookies and then told us all about Santa Barbara and where to go. We even got a free upgrade to a really nice big suite! Best stay on our trip to California. Also very central, it’s easy to walk around town and we felt very safe in this area.
The location was very central and easy drive to downtown Santa Barbara, the beach and even Costco😄. We enjoyed our visit, my children loved the area and the inn. They said it was fancy. They loved the hot tub and pool. I loved the gardens, the smell of jasmin as you walk along the path towards Terra. Everyone was very helpful and friendly.
As we arrived Peter welcomed us.
This guy is a legend - one of the funniest and kindest people i met in the US. No Joke, a 10/10!
We stayed one night and he uprgradet us to a room with whirlpool.
The Hotel is very near to the centre (State St.) - maybe 10min walking.
A nice hotel to stay in for visiting Santa Barbara.
It was convenient to our operations in Santa Barbara (several facilities near downtown) and for dining and a movie. The bed was comfortable (nether too stiff nor too soft), and the temperature controls were easy to adjust and understand. Parking was convenient to the room ,m which during a downpour was appreciated.
The location right across the street from the Santa Barbara Harbor was awesome and allowed easy access to everything in the area and downtown. Our room was spacious with nice furnishings & fixtures, and had a very comfy king bed. Liked the hugh walk-in shower, separate water closet, and full closet too.
This is a great boutique property, a short walk from downtown State Street Santa Barbara. The hotel is very comfortable and very quiet in spite of its in-town location. The staff could not have been more helpful. I spent an extremely enjoyable 4 days and had great weather to boot. I will go back
Safe, clean, beautiful, and cozy! Safe area, near downtown and gas station. Check in is quick. We arrived there a little bit late, the lady served us very friendly, clearly, and patiently. I like this room, it’s clean, cozy, lovely. I like this Santa Barbara style room!
Clean, central, and highly stylish rooms and a great backyard. Very close to touristic attractions and have a five star restaurant in it. Staff was helpful and very friendly. I would probably stay in the same hotel if i ever visit the Santa Barbara again.
Friendly staff, room was sufficient for our needs and was kept clean. Nice central pool area. Good location to access nearby Santa Barbara attractions, short drive, bus service near by. Short walk to some stores, places to eat. Close to 101 highway.
Huge room size with view of the ocean. Beach was located right across the street, but the hotel was a little far from the main downtown area. The only option to park your car is with the hotel's paid valet. Nice amenities (pool, gym, bocce court).
Location near the beach is great. Easy access to everything Santa Barbara has to offer. Walk/bike to beach and restaurants. Compared to other nearby inns and motels, La Playa is newly refurbished and very stylish. Highly recommend!
Ability for a family group to meet and visit in the large patio area. Close to downtown Santa Barbara, on bus line, within walking distance of Starbucks, great restaurant food and staff.
Santa Barbara is very expensive to visit. This hotel is a very good location and a good price. The room was comfortable, with parking directly outside the room.
The room was clean with a TV with many programs. Santa Barbara is lovely place and this hotel is great place to stay. The staff was very nice and helpful.
