The employee who checked me in, Miguel, was very nice and helpful with all of my issues (early check-in, advice on pubs) Great place for backpackers who like to be outside exploring the city and have a room to sleep in.

Bedroom without proper curtains that stop the street lights Nobody clean the bathrooms during my 4 days stay The first recepcionist charged me like 300 % more than I had to pay for 1 day I payed the first 3 days 121 and the last day 87! He made something that confused me and I payed

It was worst hotel rent experience in SF. The manager (Miguel) was lied us by phone promising the available wifi in rooms. But it is not! We booked the room with two beds but when we arrived Miguel said there are no rooms with two beds despite we were with little child and we really need two beds. Before I paid I explained the internet in room is critical for us and Miguel assure us the internet is available. But after payment when we went to the room it was very narrow one bed and no internet available. It was a direct lie about everything! Next early morning I had very important negotiations through internet and manager suggested me to sit in front of manager office (quite crowded place) for negotiations! After I required refund he ask me to call booking.com and told me he is very busy and I require too much time. The sheets and pillow covers was dirty and I asked to change it but it was no result. The window had no safety stop when it was open and we had to install big bottle of water to prevent it from self closing. I was very scared for my child when she plays near the window because the window suddenly drop down and my child get trauma. We think about one hour, call the booking .com and require refund and change the hotel this night. I strongly don't recommend to stay - it was my first experience in US with direct lie from management staff. We loose money for one night cost as a fine for cancel booking.

It's expensive, the room is not clean and disgusted smell. It's also very small like pigsty but good location if you come from airport (5 minutes walk from Bart) and easy to go to everywhere.

- Booking.com had no information about late check-in after 5pm. The employee asked me to pay 25USD in cash for the check in fee but I refused and wrote a note on my receipt stating that I wasn't paying because that information was not on the booking special information. Because it was in the weekend I still don't know if I was charged, but I will complain if I am. - I stayed in room 33 where wasn't a single outlet! It's absolutely unacceptable. - The bedsheets didn't smell clean. The walls of the room were extremely dirty. - The bathroom and showers were poorly lit and very degraded. - I've paid the same price for much nicer accommodation, so it shouldn't be an excuse to keep the standards to the minimum. The overall is actually below zero.
- The employee that checked me in was polite and friendly. - It's a fairly accessible place, although not the best for a girl to walk around solo at night.

There were cockroaches crawling up the walls, the bed sheets were faded/ripped/burned. Everything smelled of mouldy milk and there were no plug sockets. It was like being in prison. Outside was filled with prostitutes and crack addicts.

I honestly had a great time at the Sentient. This was mainly due to Simon, one of the staff members. He is such a dude. The room itself was basic but awesomely located.

No fridge/microwave as described on the website, dirty furniture. The widow is just a hole cut out of the wall with blinds laid over and there is lots of noise at night- good luck getting any sleep.

I prepaid for four nights, we stayed one night and it was very bad. People up all not in the alleyway, partying all night, did not get any sleep. Showers had no towels or any amenities, no table to put your clothes on, had to put on the floor, dried myself with a polo shirt., Manager was sympathetic and promised me a refund for the 3 remaining days. I have a receipt saying i will be reimbursed $267. Manager said it will take a week. It has been over 3 weeks now and no refund. I have tried calling and emailing the miguel at the hotel an no response back. If you can help me get my refund back, it will be greatly appreciated

building needs renovation no reception! manager onsite only during regular office hours (9-5) $20 cash for check-ins after 5pm! (nowhere mentioned!!) Manager Miguel is the rudest person ever! 2-bed room reserved and paid, had to stay in 1-bed room sheets not clean (not changed from last guest)

Very basic room in old Victorian--no tv or wifi or heat. The rooms are damp and some heat in early evening and morning would go a long way to make a comfortable stay! WORTH no more than $250 weekly. Too chilly and damp. Burrr.
Good in city location one half block to BART--also convenient to low cost cafes.

The rooms are filthy and there are crazy people who live here. There was a refrigerator (as promised) but the single outlet was under the bed.
The fact that they have WiFi is surprising. Although it was a bit spotty and would tune out at times.
