The free shuttle service was super convenient and the beds were quite comfy.
Friendly and helpful staff, huge bed, coffee machine and mini fridge.
Nothing! Maybe if breakfast was included?
What did we like about it? Every thing! The atmosphere is superb, large, extremely comfortable rooms, outstanding staff, and delicious food. A real pleasure.
Honestly – can't think of a thing. Maybe if it was 20% cheaper? But the price was reasonable for what you get.
Staff was kind, accommodating. Close to downtown Chapel Hill. The lobby bar made a great cappuccino.
On arrival, as I sat in the lobby waiting for my son, next to me on a table was a vase filled with dead gladioli. (I took a picture), I went outside to wait and on the main pillar next to the front door a brick is missing. I walked further out to wait by the fountain...and weeds filled the gardens. In a sand pit there was a game of tossing bean bags, and the targets were covered in ants, which I found out when my 3 yr old grandson became covered in ants. Glasses filled with cigarette butts were on several iron tables by the fountain. I usually stay at the Washington Duke Inn on our visits, but wanted to stay closer in to Chapel Hill...for the price of a "4-Star" hotel I expect a high level of cleanliness and maintenance, this missed the mark by a mile.
Good staff and beautiful hotel
No breakfast buffet, just to order from a daily same menu
Loved the ambiance of the hotel from the moment I walked in until the moment I left. Everyone is kind and courteous, an elegance and ambiance as if we have traveled internationally but with southern hospitality. The food is excellent, room service is extremely prompt and reasonably priced with lots of options. Beds are heavenly, room temp can easily be adjusted , lingering smell of soft flowers throughout the hallways. Light refreshments are always being served (coffee in the mornings) in the lobby.
Only complaint would be the need of make-up mirrors in the room. Everything else was excellent on this trip!
Excellent staff and service. Great amenities.
No pool or hot tub. Room AC just a bit noisy.
Easy check in. Quiet location, close to town, UNC
Our room was upgraded free of charge when we arrived because it was our anniversary. Staff was very nice and the room was beautiful. A very nice property.
About midnight a wedding party and guests came to the hotel to stay - they stood outside the front door and on the front patio and were very noisy - hard to sleep.
Love the hotel. A little disappointed this trip as the staff didn't seem as happy and we always had to ask for water to go in the room and our room/bathroom was much smaller which is our fault and we will request/book a larger room next trip.
Staff was okay could be more polite some staff were great some were not bed was great location great
Some staff members & lack of amenties
The decor and spacious room
There were feather pillows in my room...even though I requested that there be none. I am higly allergic!
From first contact when I drove up to check-out, the staff was warm, helpful - eager to make sure I had what I needed. I arrived early, so my room was not ready and I needed to take an important business call from London. They offered me the Boardroom for this purpose so I could have some privacy. Amazing service. They stored my bag and placed it in the room while I was away for a few hours. The restaurant on property is fantastic! The room - large, comfortable. WiFi is free and works perfectly. Fantastic place. Will be staying here again!
I enjoyed the peaceful atsophmere
There was nothing
From the moment we walked through the doors the level of comfort rose dramatically. The staff were attentive, the rooms gorgeous and the beds warm and comfortable. Would highly recommend this hotel.
Gorgeous hotel and rooms. With French doors, embracing the southern charm. Excellent Resturaunt in the hotel. Italian with mainly all freshly made, only two items were not made on the spot. A very elegant hotel , excellent service and extremely friendly accommodating staff. Products in the room smell incredible. Home made hourdoves upon our arrival that were delicious. A heavenly place.
It was basically a flawless hotel.
Staff very welcoming, efficient and helpful. Room spacious and comfortable. Lobby refreshments a nice touch. The hotel shuttle - and the drivers - very much appreciated.
The location - a bit distant from the centre of Chapel Hill. Walkable, but only just. The lack of information on local things to do was frustrating - would have been good to know more about the area: good restaurants, bike hire, etc. This may just be a cultural difference!
Rooms were big and well decorated. Front desk staff were very professional and courteous.
I liked the spacious, well lit room and comfortable bed. Jona, in the dining room was a gracious as any dining room host I've had the pleasure to visit with in a long time. Went out of her way to make sure we were taken care of. Delightful.
The last person at the reception desk (about midnight) literally reached onto the cookie tray offered for guests and snatched away the last three cookies my friend and I were actually reaching for and took them for himself, saying "Oh, those are for me. I'm doing an experiment." WHAT?? An experiment to see how outraged and appalled the guest would be??
Wonderful stay, staff was very pleasant!
My favorite place to stay in Chapel Hill. Superb food and staff.
