the room is wide, comfortable. The bath room is wide and well equipped. The staff is helpful.
the Wabash street is noisy.
The style of the hotel, massive comfortable beds, excellent, friendly staff, great downtown location
Our internal room was dark without a lot of natural light, the coffee/tea facilities were not replenished every day
The staff were very helpful & friendly. Clean and stylishly furnished room. Central location for sightseeing.
Location great but not sure I'd like a room on front of hotel due to proximity of the 'L'. Large King Suite Bathroom
Central location, quiet hotel, courteous employees, cleanliness everywhere
You are on your own re parking.
where to start? it was all good really, especially considering the price. great, helpful friendly staff, nice decor, handy location, nice shower, comfy bed etc...
the room was a little small - might be tight for two, but was perfect for one. & there was no view from the window - but for this location & price, those are just niggles.
The front desk staff was lovely and tried to be very helpful. The rooms were clean, new, large and comfortable. The price was excellent, but make sure to ask for a room on the back side of the hotel away from the "L". The location was excellent for Millenium Park and the Art Institute. I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.
The doormen were inconsistently around. The front doors were heavy and the handles were shaped in such a way as they were uncomfortable to pull. The housekeeping was very clean, but amenities were inconsistent from day to day. Free wifi was nice, however it could be very slow.
Hotel located in loop. Allowed for walking to places of interest. Personnel were very friendly and personable. Very clean hotel.
Difficult to find hotel first time. Valet delivered my car for departure much dirtier than it was. Something oily and rusty was spilled on it while parked, I suppose. Should've been cleaned off.
My fiancé and I went for our private wedding weekend and felt so welcome as soon as we walked in the door. Everything from the staff to the rooms was top notch. Erin, Barrye and Matt were also phenonmenal bartenders. When we visit Chicago again we will stay there again. They made our weekend VERY special.
There wasn't anything we didn't like...
Everything! Room was excellent with a separate living room area and two TVs. Quality is guaranteed up to the detail.
Great price and location!
Wish they would have had a microwave in the room
The staff was phenomenal! Never needed for anything. Very prompt and courteous.
Location relative to public transit, local attractions. Friendly staff.
Cleanliness was average.
Noise level of the El....
The location .
My rooms were with bad view, and crouded .
Location was great for Millennium and Grant Park. Magnificent mile was also within easy reach. The room was large. Air conditioning controls easy to use. Bathroom large and towels extra fluffy. Lovely robes.
The beds for 2 adults and 2 teenagers were small doubles
Friendly staff Comfy bed
Pressure of shower Subway noise
- Location. Right by the L. Easy to get to Midway and go anywhere in Chicago. 20 minutes from Wrigley. - No street noise what so ever. - Staff were very kind and helpful. - Easy for 8 guys to stay in 2 rooms and no trouble for all our bags to be held while we spent half the day exploring Chicago before we left.
- The lounge bar didn't have one TV. Not even one? - This is right in tourist central (but at least 1 block off of the more busier parts) - Fire alarms were going off throughout the night. I know it's out of your hands but, hearing a loud beep every few minutes was annoying.
Position, room and wifi
We visited Chicago for the first time to see the inner city and to meet up with some old friends. The Silversmith was an ideal hotel in the ideal location for this. Those who have never visited this city should include it on their wish list. The hotel has been fully renovated and redesigned. So it can and does match more modern hotels. The breakfasts were fine.
This local loved this hotel!!!! My four year old and I were able to walk everywhere. And it was just a $5 cab from Navy Pier. Everything was clean and the staff couldn't be nicer to my daughter. We were able to sit in the "VIP" couch area and she had a blast playing waitress. It was pretty empty so we weren't disturbing anyone. This mommy and me staycation was a great success! FYI the train noise did not bother us. Its not at all times of the night and the planes flying over my house are louder
Room was big. Central location. Front desk staff were very helpful.
Loved the spaciousness of the bathroom and massive bed. it felt like i was sleeping on a cloud
The hotel was beautiful, the staff was very friendly and helpful whenever we had questions. Loved how close it was to the subway and millennium park. Loved the room amenities... Esp the quality hair dryer. Lots of restaurants around that were reasonably priced!
Drove around the block 3 times before actually finding hotel. The signs out front were hard to see. There was also some noise from the trains that could be heard inside hotel but was minimal during night hours and didn't disrupt my sleep.
