I went to the Shedd Aquarium, saw Banana Spheel, visited night clubs, and shopped. Many attractions are in walking distance. The hotel is beautiful, but, sometimes the CTA trains were a bit loud and annoying. They were less noticable at night and I did not have trouble sleeping. I would definitely stay there again. |

The internet which was available to all guests in the Lobby. Staff were always accomodating. The location of the Hotel made all sites very accessable. If you are a light sleeper not for you as the Loop runs 24-7 |

The location of this hotel was fantastic. Literally 15 steps from the L, it made traveling around the city incredibly easy. Around the corner from a fantastic pizza place, and within easy walking distance of many Chicago landmarks, this hotel is an absolute bargain for the price I booked rooms at. |

spacious room, very well designed, everything worked, the Wifi, the safebox, great bed and bathroom, great price/value ratio, great location, EL not a problem at all if you get a backyard view room, very friendly room service, very efficient taxi hailing service, front desk staff OK Chicago definitely worth visiting I've been around and there is not a single thing to complain about |

I appreciate the convenience of the hotel location to my business needs in Chicago and the proximity to the subway. There always is a stale smell in the hallways, though the smell is not in the hotel rooms themselves. |

the room was large and convenient, equiped with ironing utilities and a coffee machine. internet was a bit slow, but free of charge. it was in general clean and comfotable. |

We had a well appointed room, with bathrobes, microwave and fridge. The bathroom was large, and had a tub. The staff was very good, and the room was well maintained.. The noise of the elevated train was quite a problem, and the rooms were a little small. The internet did not always work. |

The hotel was ideally located in Chicago, close to everything, very clean and the staff was exceptional. The restaurant in the hotel was excellent as well. The bed itself was a little hard/uncomfortable over the long term and seemed a bit dated. However, this is not something that would prevent me from staying again since the room/linens/furniture were modern, very clean, well-appointed and nicely done. I loved this hotel, especially given the location! |

The interior design of the Silversmith is Old Chicago Luxury, You have too look twice when you realize that the Hotel is only 11 yrs old. The hotel shows very little wear and tear. Don't get hung up on the view or the overhead train. I can't imagine any hotel room view being comparible to the sights encountered on a Chicago walk around. The train is loud on the street outside but we did not notice any train noise in the hotel.. The Train is a plus for getting around. And yes we will return to the Silversmith. |

We were so pleased with the elegance of the hotel and the architectural history. The location was excellent as was the staff and the ambience and cleanliness of our room. Even though the "el" continually rumbled past, our room was very private and quiet from hotel noises...and the el reminded us of the historic past of the grand era. We appreciated the white duvet and spread Since the weather changed while we were there, a lightweight blanket would have been nice since the room got too warm when the heat was turned up to sleep. |

From the word go, the staff could not do enough for me. I asked about directions to the Steppenwolf Theatre, and within seconds was given a detailed printout of how to get there, with times of next train, estimated walking times, etc. included. They also provided detailed leaflets of where to go, where to eat, as well as personal recommendations and good wishes. There was an unpleasant smell (vomit?) in the room I was given, and they gave me another immediately. But the second room had a similar smell, but not as strong. I can only conclude that, incredibly as it may seem, the detergent used in their carpet cleaning has this offensive smell. I've come across this before - a whole multiplex cinema had the exact smell and it turned out to be the detergent. So - consider changing the detergent. Or at least investigate. Strangely, when you open the doors on the tv, the same odour emanates. Don't understand. |

Excellent location for theater, shopping, restaurants, museums, public transportation, Lake Michigan and beaches, etc. We had a quiet room, but if we had had a noisy room with "El" noise, it might have been less pleasant. Length of valet turnaround time - 15 to 20 minutes. |
