Clerk told us she was changing our room because a regular liked that room. It was originally on third floor. We have stayed there quite a few times and know that the third floor has a suite. She Stated oh I see you booked through booking.com and proceeded to change our room. We felt like second class very rude
Staff awesome, restaurants great food. Gym had some broken treadmills. Pool nice but colder than I thought, but still nice. Bedposts in the way of the TV. Comfortable rooms. Nice scenic location.
A little dirty. Fans in pool room could use some cleaning. It is al older inn, but it is pretty well maintained. Room heat was tricky and bedposts in the way of TV.
The ladies working at the front desk were extremely helpful and pleasant. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. The lobby area with the fire place was lovely and a great place for my teenage daughter and her friends to study for mid-term exams! The tea/coffee bar in the lobby was wonderful as well especially since it was such a cold day. The food in the Evergreen restaurant was delicious and the host was very polite and helpful.
Our waiter at the Evergreen for dinner was sarcastic and condecending. He was an older gentleman (50's perhaps), which I point out only to help you identify who I am speaking of so that his lack of appropriate manners can be addressed. I had three teenage girls with me, and they all said he was a "bit snippy and sassy". When I inquired about something that I felt was incorrect on my tab, he looked at me with a "are you serious" look, rolled his eyes and then all but yanked the tab out of my hand. We could hear him speaking with the manager in a tone that made it obvious that he was annoyed by our question. When he returned, he tossed the tab on the table and said, "they will be out with a new tab" and he walked away. The host rather than the waiter returned with the corrected tab. He politely apologized for the error and thanked us for having dinner at the Evergreen. The waiter's rudeness was reflected in his tip (10% versus my usual 20%).
Amazing location, especially in autumn, high-end hotel.
$200+ minimum is too pricey, nonetheless.
The staff and maids were all extremely pleasant. Our breakfast was wonderful...kudos to the chef!
The beds were hard and did not give. We have traveled the world and felt the price of the room was a bit high.
Everything from the reception, room, facilities, restaurants, bar, peace and quiet to the people who were 5 star. A great example of country hospitality.
excellent staff, very comfortable
few electrical outlets
The decor was very nice, classic feel.
The shuttle to the concert becomes useless if it's last run is at or before the end of the concerts.
Understated, classical elegance.Very pleasant place to stay.Good parking.
Can't bring the complementary breakfast in the full service restaurant
Lighting in room.Waiting for breakfast - 45 minutes. Outdoor facilities poor. PRICE much to high!!!
Staff at the front desk were very friendly and helpful. I got married at The Riverview so we had a big group stay at the Simsbury Inn and at 12:30am they were very helpful and attentive.
One of the maid was kind of rude. I ask if she could please clean my room after we left to the wedding at 4pm her answer was I am leaving by 4:30pm so you need to be out by 4pm if you want your room clean. Didn't like her attitude and tone of voice.
restaurant and pool
rental car was parked in front of hotel.Trunk was broken into and spare tire stolen. This will cost us a great deal to resolve.
Restautant was good.
Some noise in the morning from adjoining rooms (when water was turned on presumable for showers)
Lovely facility if kept in good shape and run properly -- but it's not right now, it seems. Staff nice.
many problems with things not working properly and rooms in poor shape
