I liked the location close to the downtown night life. The room was very nice and very clean. 1. The tv in the room was small 19 inch I believe and it had bad reception. 2. The hotel has no parking lot. Your basically forced to pay the 30.00 valet fee unless u want to walk blocks with your luggage. 3. There were additional hotel fees. Booking.com stated tax and 8.99 hotel fee but when i checked out there were additional hotel fees that totaled about 20.00 per night manditory.

I loved the small but very cozy room and the bed was ultra comfortable. The business center is well equipped and the lobby/common areas are serene and calming. The $30 parking fee was excessive and extra charges, although nominal, seemed unecessary.

I loved the Sofia Hotel! The staff were kind, welcoming, and accommodating, and the service was excellent. The Horton Plaza was a very short walk. I was at a meeting at the Convention Center, which took about 8-13 minutes to walk. I loved coming back to my room each day. What a beautiful retreat!

Convenience of location in town Really could have used continental morning offerings; bananas, O.J., coffee, breads. I'm not interested in making my own coffee messing with grounds and the carpet.

This was a great location for our opera event since we are from out of town. We liked staying in a historic hotel that has done some nice upgrades to cater to our modern tastes and needs. The staff was very gracious and helpful. We enjoyed the restaurant for dinner on the patio very much as well. Just wish they opened earlier for breakfast on the weekends.

Tasteful interior. The location is excellent, and all parts of the city centre can be reached easily by foot. The presence of a good bistro with friendly and professional personel is a great asset. The rooms were relatively small, unfortunately.

Friendly, competent & helpful staff. Rooms are updated and and well detailed/decorated. Room was a bit small and crowded; however, good value for the price. I was a bit surprised and disappointed that all parking is valet $30.00/Day....this was not disclosed (to my knowledge) when booked online. The valet parking may be standard business in downtown San Diego; but it would have been nice to know in advance.

Location is good for access to the Gaslamp & Horton Plaza Rooms are really tiny, tv was small with horrible reception. Walls are paper thin & there is lots of street noise on the low floors. Reception staff do not greet you on arrival or at any time even tho' you have to pass them on the way to the elevator. Bathroom also wierd! Sink was right inside the door to the room. Bath had shower only and only a 1/2 divider so water got on floor... Would be better for solo traveller. Area is still pretty sketchy despite the Greyhound station moving across town. Lots of homeless. Across street from court House; jail right down the street:( valet parking $30/night! They blew out my car stereo speakers!

Refined and artistically decorated interior. A stately and historic building, on the Registry of Historic Hotels. Super-comfortable room with every amnesty, sparkling clean. As with many older buildings there is some bleed-through of sound from adjacent rooms, but it was not a problem for me.
