Location was great. Staff was great.
Room was a little small but nicely appointed
Gentleman who helped us was very accomodating. Hotel had charm. Walking distance of many things. Took the train down to SD and had a great stay. Would stay there again!
Rooms are a little small. Very few with bath tubs (but since I asked for one the got us a room with a tub at no extra charge) That won me over!!!
Everything was fine except for the internet connection.
The location of the hotel is perfect! Although there was a bit of confusion on my reservation, they were quick to upgrade my room. I have zero complaints on the cleanliness, staff and/or location of the Sofia Hotel!
Great, cozy hotel!! Perfect location!
Helpful staff, value for money and location, location, location
Location! The staff was very friendly. Mr Brian in reception was very helpful and very polite.
No breakfast. Uncomfortable mattress .
Decor was beautiful and loved the Xmas decorations
Parking was difficult but that is downtown San Deigo!
Great location near the Gaslamp Quarter, Little Italy, etc. The hotel was cute and had an attached restaurant that looked nice, but we didn't get a chance to check it out. They allowed us to print our zoo tickets for free in their business center. It was very clean, they offered free water bottles every day and the staff were friendly.
Not much counter space in the room.
Too small of room for the price and parking fee
Location of the hotel and reception very nicely decorated
Room too small for three especially with luggage
Lovely historic hotel close to the Gaslamp district. Accommodations were great for girls weekend. Breakfast at hotel restaurant was good.
Room walls seemed a little thin. We roomed next to a family with a child who was quite vocal and woke us up early. Other than that, no complaints.
room and lobby were beautifully decorated and clean. Staff were excellent. Room was a bit small for us, though, as we were travelling with both our infant and a pet. Still very good value!
A bit small
Very nice historical Hotel. Staff was nice and helpful. Very cool Location in the city downtown.
Rooms were a little bit small compare to the number of possible guests per room.
Good location, easy to find. Staff friendly. Nice restaurant, good food.
The room was on the dark side. Be careful if you cross the street right outside the restaurant. There is a high bump that may cause you to fall on your face. (It happened to me.)
Good location: walking distance to Horton Plaza, Convention Center and Santa Fe station. Comfortable
Staff can be more friendly
- place in town - room and equipment - confortable bed
- service not so friendly - price not so cheap as expected (taxes...)
Friendly staff. Great location for shopping/dining
Nothing. Great experience!
We only stayed one night, but the room was nice and quiet. Very eclectic. We will return....
There was nothing we didn't like..
Location and facility itself were excellent
The beds need to be upgraded; far too stiff and hard. They also should have softer pillows like down feathers.
Located at the heart of Downtown. Walking distance to Santa Fe station and Convention Center. Near Horton Plaza if you need to do last minute shopping. Free WiFi. Clean.
Room was kind of small. Staff can be more friendly.
Great help from the staff. small and cozy. experience was great would visit there again.
As our preferred room requested was not available, staff had already upgraded us to a Queen Suite. When we mentioned we were celebrating our anniversary upon checking in, staff sent a complimentary bottle of a good champagne to our room. Dinner in the hotel's restaurant, Current, was delicious with prompt, attentive service. As we were dining before going to a play at the Civic Center a few blocks away, we had time constraints, and they were met with time to spare.
Additional $34 for overnight parking, but it's pretty much the standard rate in downtown San Diego. Valet service was prompt.
Everything was very clean, staff was friendly, and the Currant restaurant was delicious.
Room and bathroom were very small. Parking valet was expensive.
Close to transit and Gaslamp district as well as waterfront. The rooms were well appointed despite the small rooms and limited space.
The resort fee per night is expensive for what is provided especially for staying only for one night.
