The Sofia Hotel is within walking distance to many of San Diego's attractions. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. The rooms are clean and comfortable.
The restaurant is not open for breakfast.
The shower was great and I slept well in the bed.
The room was pretty small and the lighting was insufficient.
great location and nice hotel, overall
no breakfast in the hotel
Great location, helpful staff, nice bar.
Location, staff, extras even though we did not use them
We could hear our neighbors talking, but luckily they quieted down at a reasonable hour.
Great location near to public transport and lots of shops and restaurants . Lovely historic hotel staff very helpful .
Rooms very small with only one mirror in the corner off room ,not so great for two women !
everything! location, staff, cleanliness etc all perfect!
the walking tour that was offered on site restaurant was good service was very good and folks were friendly and helpful
sink right in front of the door valet parking was expensive smell of animals
Walking distance from Tourist atraction, nice and clean
Rooms are realy small
The locations was good, we had a drink in the bar on the first night we arrived - it was a really nice bar and the food looked really good!!! The bar staff were very efficient and pleasant to deal with.
Expensive overnight parking, desk staff were ok, we arrived quite late after driving from Vegas and wanted information regarding tours and local sightseeing that night so we could have a drink and have a look over them - they pretty much told us to wait for the concierge, they couldn't help. The rooms were quite cramped, the sink was in the bedroom - this actually works quite well!!! The furniture in the room had seen better days, the wardrobe doors were dodgy closing and the drawer in the bedside locker kept opening (I banged off it at least 3 times).
The Air conditioning was awful. It was over 80 degrees in my room till 2 am. By 6 am it had only cooled to 76 degrees. So the a?c was on for 12 hours and could just get the room to 76 degrees. The person I traveled with had a similar issue
Great Mattrass, very quiet room great location for both federal and state court houses
No breakfast of any kind.
Nice bar, nice restaurants around
staff could be more friendly, big hotel, not very personal
Nice and clean hotel. Close to Marina, Gaslamp, Seaport Village etc. A suite suited us well, our two boys (11 and 13) shared the sofa bed (was a bit hard matress). Good service at valet parking. Nice restaurant for dinner (did not have breakfast there). Coffee shops around the corner and also great grocery store (Ralph's) quite close.
Rude personnel at front desk. The rest of the staff were not service minded at all, didn't even look at us while talking. Also be aware of that they hold the price for your booking plus extra 100 dollars until you check out. Breakfast in restaurant was not buffé, you had to choose expensive dishes from meny, did not suite us at least.
I liked that we were in walking distance to everything we needed. The hotel staff was very nice and accommodating.
I didn't like that it was $30 per night to park. I also didn't like that the rooms were so small. Also in the shower/toilet area the shower had no door. There was a glass panel that enclosed half the shower only. The floor would get horribly wet. Definitely a slipping hazard. Plus the wood panel that met the floor had wet swells and wet rot from the floors being so wet. Obviously this has been a problem for quite a while.
Very good located with station within walking distance. Friendly, clean, and everything u need in room.
Location Clean rooms
Internet was a little slow. Younger staff at reception seemed to be less helpful. The more mature staff were very helpful though.
We liked the location and staff were friendly
Would be nice to have parking included
The staff were friendly and incredibly helpful. The hotel had a great old school charm to it
The setup of the bathroom in my room was awkward and uncomfortable
Great location great staff
Love the location. Just minutes walking to downtown.
close to trolley stop and bus stops
Friendly staff, great location.
The suite was a good size with separate rooms and tvs.
Pull out sofa bed could have been a bit newer for comfort.
Small room found a sock under bed
