Great help from the staff. small and cozy. experience was great would visit there again.
As our preferred room requested was not available, staff had already upgraded us to a Queen Suite. When we mentioned we were celebrating our anniversary upon checking in, staff sent a complimentary bottle of a good champagne to our room. Dinner in the hotel's restaurant, Current, was delicious with prompt, attentive service. As we were dining before going to a play at the Civic Center a few blocks away, we had time constraints, and they were met with time to spare.
Additional $34 for overnight parking, but it's pretty much the standard rate in downtown San Diego. Valet service was prompt.
Everything was very clean, staff was friendly, and the Currant restaurant was delicious.
Room and bathroom were very small. Parking valet was expensive.
Close to transit and Gaslamp district as well as waterfront. The rooms were well appointed despite the small rooms and limited space.
The resort fee per night is expensive for what is provided especially for staying only for one night.
The character of the hotel.
Great location Charming decor Fast, reliable wi-fi Four HBO channels!
Relatively small room and bed Slightly uncomfortable pillows
- Great location - Helpful staff - Silence - Comfortable bed - Pet friendly hotel
- Overpriced breakfast - Coffee pads in the room hardly can be called coffee
Everything was perfect, nothing I can complain about.
My view, but I can't complain much you get what you pay for.
Good location, near places to eat, excellent service and cleaning. I left a pair of shoes and they are going to send them to my home. Very Good! Highly recommended.
Rooms and bathroom are a little tiny
Great location, short walk to either the waterfront, gas lamp district and shopping mall. Also local bus stop close to hotel. Staff friendly. Room clean and comfy. No noise from other rooms. We had a double room which was just enough space for a few nights, included a fridge and good air-conditioning. Wifi worked well.
The room was clean, the hotel quaint. It's an older hotel and the room was small but was perfectly suitable for my needs. A small refrigerator and microwave were available as well as a safe for my valuables. Two free bottles of water everyday too. And free in-room wifi and free computer/printer access in the business center. Staff were helpful and obliging. Many amenities are close by.
There was a leak in the bathroom somewhere. It was just an annoyance and didn't cause me any problems.
Cozy room..very comfortable.
Bathtub small and water from toilet sprayed out the side and on the floor each flush.
We wanted to stay an extra night an she was so helpful. We goo for a great price a sign large room. Nice way to enjoy our anniversary.
Twin room very small, not enough space even for leaving the suitcases. Cleaning service of the room not included in the night rate.
The room is rather small but very nice and confortable.
The bidet is missing, like almost everywhere in the states.
Great location, near all sorts of shopping, restaurants, transportation. Kind, professional staff. Excellent value.
Lighting a bit subdued: this is an historic hotel, so rooms are not huge, and lighting could be brighter for reading and so on.
Small double bed for two people
excellent location, service, and amenities provided
room is very cozy - not much space to move about, that said, unless spending lots of time in the room, it really doesn't matter
Location Staff Comfortable Bed Fridge and Microwave in room Restaurant
Shower that wasn't all the way closed in left water on the floor Drywall a bit bubbled on the outside of bathroom
No Bellman, entry is on side street,
Brilliant location on the doorstep of the Gas Lamp district the hotel is stylish yet comfortable and a great base to explore the area. The rooms were well equipped and tastefully decorated. The bar/restaurant in the lobby is also great for a drink and the food is excellent.
Our room was quite compact and didn't have a bath which I would have liked but not a big deal for two nights.
Amazing location! Cosy place to be.
Tiny room, loud AC.
It was perfect for a quick getaway and close to everything.
Unfortunately for a room with double beds, it was EXTREMELY small.
The staff is excellent from the young men handling valet service to the housekeeping staff to the front desk everyone at Sofia is outstanding with service The close proximity to dining and entertainment was a great value We will visit again
The queen room with 2 double beds didn't leave much wiggle room and the half glass shower door was different but not a deal breaker
Our room was very cozy. Really enjoyed our stay. Have to come back and stay longer than overnight.
That we had to leave.
