I really did not enjoy the extra waiting in the hallway for an additional 15 mins after check-in time. We sat in the hallway because of the cleaning staff.
The bed was quite comfortable.
The "check in" experience ruined the entire stay. I arrived in the lobby and spoke to a security guard who told me I would have to call a number and wait OUTSIDE for a concierge to collect me. I wasn't allowed to wait inside! When I asked why, he said "because it's the rules". Very welcoming. Also when the concierge eventually arrived, he didn't do or say anything to help the situation. He was rather clueless. Also some other poor guy who was waiting at the same time as me was told he didn't have a room even after booking in advance.
The flat was decent I guess.
Need to bring own dishwashing equipment, teatowel, liquid etc. bath soap. Bath towels need to be changed more regularly.
Large roomy apartment. Close to Muni Bus Transport 20 metres, and train from airport only 300 metres away. Good breakfast bar 50 metres away.
The TV did not work, the microwave did not work, we had to ask for coffee cups, never got a change of towels in a week.
They do not have a front desk, so you need call them by phone
Location and price
Room was beat up in places. Make sure you bring your own soap and shampoo.
The staff was very friendly even though I didn't make the 9PM check in time. Bed was very comfortable.
It location is near the tenderloin so there are lots of homeless around. The bed was falling apart which caused the mattress to collapse. Staff entered our room one night for no reason whilst we were sleeping.
Nice view of the city as we were on the 20th floor. Wifi, kitchen, and bathroom facilities were very much sufficient. Short walk to union square.
We were moved to another building far away from misson street and market street so we have to spend more on transpetation
full facilities in kitchen, living room, bedroom, washingmachine. Also there is a beautiful patio.
The staff were very average at this facility. Multiple times we called to be checked in to the suites and didn't get anyone from the office. It took around an hour from initially contacting the staff to actually being let in to the room. This process could definitely be improved.
The suite, while in a sort of transitioning district, was in a good location in terms of travel times to other areas. Only about a 15 minute walk to the main shopping area on Market Street.
The neighbourhood might not be ideal for people who are uncomfortable with homeless persons nearby. This is avoidable by walking along Market rather than Mission.
The check-in is unconventional but the staff is really accomodating and try their best to come to the front and welcome you.
They gave us a short notice the night before around 9pm, when we're already on our way to San francisco, that our reservation has been cancelled for the following day due to maintenance. They told us not to even bother to come and On top of that haven't received my money back (7 days later). It seems that they cancel a lot of reservations by seeing the other reviews. It's probably because they overbook and they say "it's due to maintenance". Made our trip a little difficult because we had to book another hotel that was way expensive due to the short notice. Beware!
We were supper excited to stay at Soma Suites for the decent price booking.com gave us but....
Lack of information about parking, particularly due to the reality of how challenging parking in SF is.
Unfortunately when we stayed in this place, our room was very dirty. Dusty and toilet was not working. We called the management and he said he will send someone to look as soon as possible. One hour later still no one come to look to our room, tried to call him again but no avail. After finally got hold of him, he told us that he will come as soon as possible again. We waited another 30 minutes but still no one came, so decided to contact booking.com customer rep, and she contacted the management. 15 minutes later the cleaner came. VERY BAD MANAGEMENT STAFF
The location, nothing else
Parking is very difficult. Car park is very expensive 20 $ per day.
The place is very central and from there you can explore the city. The neigbourhood is safe. Bars, Restaurants and Supermarkets around the corner.
It's located a bit from downtown and fisherman's wharf, but there's plenty of public transport to take you there.
I got a nice apartment on the 19th floor with a view over City Hall. All the stuff you need in is there. Check in was no problem as long as you're aware that this is not a hotel, so there's no reception. Basically this is what I wanted.
It took over 30 minutes to check in and then they were missing a key fob that would allow me to get in the building and the elevator so I had to contact the office if I was going out and needed to get back in. They were supposed to find one for me the next day and that did not happen either.
I booked Soma Suites and paid in full and then read the reviews! I then saw in the reviews that other visitors were being let down at the last minute due to double bookings. I emailed and expressed my fear of this happening to us after a long flight but I was assured it would not. The day before my arrival I emailed Soma to confirm the time of my arrival and i received a reply saying that all was well. When I arrived at the airport I phoned the number I was given and to my horror the voice the other end said the premises was double booked and my payment was being returned! We were tired and had nowhere to go in a strange city! Soma had my payment for a few months earning them interest! Could there be some kind of investment scam going on here!
Probably the worse (and longest) check-in process I have ever encountered. Car Parking in the area is very expensive also ($80 for 4 nights)
Apartment had everything required for a 4 night stay.
Many, many homeless people in the area.
Security of the building.
The cable didnt work
I liked the kitchen and the bed Was comfotable and the room was clean
not enough toilet paper for 6 nights.
we had heard not great things about this apartments but we had a perfect experience, we were on the 21st floor with a great view
It took over an hour and a half to get checked in the first 45 mins were just sitting in the lobby waiting for someone who does the rental part or the appartments to answer the phone to even know I was there. Ended up missing more than half of the concert, the sole purpose I was there.
Had no problems here. The area (SOMA) is undergoing positive change, but it takes time. The surrounding neighborhood is ok, but I feel is getting better. The building is fantastic, the staff is great, the amenities are solid, the wifi is amazing.
a bit hard to actually get the key and room
it was just a good place all around
SF City-wide has a high rate of homeless--sadly many areas have smells of the urine district.
Excellent room (1906) for the price.
