Location was great!
Worn and dirty...From the keys used for the rooms to the exterior of the room and the furnishings inside, it needs a MAJOR renovation! Ownership collects large fees and does NOT reinvest those monies on the facility. My wife wanted to use the spa but after seeing the room didn't trust the cleanliness anywhere in the Hotel.
The Spa was wonderful and staff was great. The set up of the Inn allowed you to be quiet & solo or mix in with the crowd. Very quaint with a of history. Location was great to visit other surrounding towns.
Wish they would change the pillows. Soft down pillows would be great instead of hard foam pillows. The food is a little overpriced, so opt for dining out to save a little $.
Have been there twice now, once for my anniversary and for a girls spa time, we loved it, had a great time, would stay here again.
Left something behind last week and have not gotten a response back
Studio appartment in villa separate from hotel in green environment was quiet and comfortable. Nice spa. Friendly staff at the front desk.
Personel at Kensington's restaurant was friendly but, at the evening we had diner, had no knowledge at all about the wine, food and prices. Service was far below the price level of the restaurant and the service fee of 19% was obligatory included in the bill. Wines were not being served before or at the time the different courses were being served but too long afterwards(...). The first wine we choose was not available any more (can happen of course), the second wine we choose, no year was mentioned, was a dry white Vouvray that appeared to be12 years old, it was already more then six years far over the top and of course not drinkeable ( and that is an understatement). The recommended wine with the gelato & sorbet was an ice wine, no price was mentioned on the menu but only at a different part of the wine list. In small printing in a rather dark restaurant hard to find and almost impossible to read. It appeared that they recomended a wine with the ice cream ($9) that cost $22 per glas (....) which is completely outrageous. You should explicitly mention the price when you recomend such a special and expensive wine with an average ice cream desert. And last but not least: the cooking was below average and not in line with the price level.
The spa area is excellent and can be very relaxing.
AC unit was noisy. Also they started repairing a set of stairs outside our window at 7:45am. Food was just ok and very overpriced.
Rooms were wonderful Loved the afternoon tea and scones Grounds were lovely Atmosphere was peaceful and calm
Outdoor pools not ideal
The room and general ambiance of the inn were wonderful. Bed was heavenly. The restaurants were very good. It was a nice touch to have the afternoon tea & scones and morning coffee available.Concierge staff went over and above to be helpful with directions and other tips. The whole place was spotlessly clean. Less than a mile to Mohegan Sun if one is planning to go there.
We saw an outdoor pool in the photos online; we were really looking forward to a real swim but pool was indoors only and very small and narrow. It seems that with so many other spa & fitness services available, there would be a lap pool as well.
The Norwich Inn is a lovely inn. It was clean, the rooms nicely appointed and the staff was extremely friendly. Although we didn't take part in any, the amenities and activities were nice. A complementary Inn breakfast would be a nice addition!
No complimentary breakfast
Checking out shoes. Prefer slippers in the room
The grounds were fantastic. The Spa and the "fee for service" activities seemed great and reasonable Daily activities were neat (although we did not do any of the above)
Room seemed damp when we arrived. Had to turn on the heat to drive off that feeling. Bathroom paint was peeling, tub was clogged, and towel rack was falling off. I travel a lot for work and was disappointed in the room for the $$. Luckily we were there for the Rod Stewart concert at the Mohegan Sun, so we were not in the room much.
We stayed at the hotel, but didn't use the spa itself, so this review may not be helpful for all travelers. The staff was fantastic - couldn't have been more helpful or pleasant. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Grounds looked nice (but we were there on a dreary day so a bit hard to tell.)
Rooms were a little small and I could hear noise from the hall.
Very nice people
the whole experience was excellent, although i did not check out or use the spa / pool area, so i have no comment on that..
We stayed in a villa! Very nice, clean, and we had a kitchen. Nail services were excellent. Gym was good.
massage was adequate. there were several wedding parties and not really enough room to all sit in the hot tub much of the time. also the "quiet room" was filled every time I tried to get in. Picture on the website shows a big pool...it is not a lap pool.
Room was musty and uncomfortable. Not worth $300. Didn't sleep
The public areas of the inn are lovely. I think the spa is excellent, offering many diverse treatments and services. The staff is friendly and skilled and the hot tub and pool are clean and inviting.
One of the curtains in our room was tattered and hanging loose. The carpet was spotted. When we left it snowed. No one had sanded the slippery walk and driveway. The doorman did not offer any help.
the service was great, very nice staff, the spa and treatments were very good, room was very spacious and comfortable
dinner was expensive, and not as good as expected (Kensington), they should have thrown in a few "extras" with the room-ie fitness class, breakfast option. health club was substandard with broken, outdated equipment
Wine tasting in evening Terrific yoga instructor Front desk at check in nice
Room very small Door to bathroom difficult to open & close Was told yoga was complimentary than was billed Room was billed by person rather than one fee...very confusing Gratuity included on EVERYTHING No elevator, or offer for assistance had to drag bags up steps
