Score from 1080 reviews Excellent
Staff very friendly and helpful. Hotel is always buzzing with people. Trendy but no attitude.
Room surprisingly small and very little cupboard space. The usual supply of personal toiletries expected in hotels of this standard was well below par. Rooms looking a bit tired.
View from every aspect of the room was spectacular especially as the Hudson was shifting frozen ice.
The club upstairs had a private event we were informed that hotel guests could get in after 10pm, fair enough but would need to queue outside!!...who queues outside for a hotel bar when you're staying there ?! You don't...staff members said we were not the first to complain ...hotel mgmt obviously in over their heads on how to tackle that issue. We spent our cash at the Gansevoort roof top bar instead a block away.
Good location, cool place, always cabs outside, good restaurants, awesome view, good gym
Noise from nightclub, tiny rooms, tiny shower, expensive for the size of room and amenities
A little bit expensive...
Ambiance and style
Location and views and cool decor
Worst customer care that I have ever experienced. really bad. If you are under 30 and a cool kid it is probably the best hotel ever. If you are not a model or film star they wont let you in the cool bars on busy nights. Fine on quiet nights but your money not good enough when busy. I snook up and saw these "cool people" bar sweeping as they couldn't afford drinks then saw some slightly overweight girls refused entry go to the downstairs bar and order some fizz. Go figure. Very superficial place. Ugly door policy. Hotel guests have NO priority entry to hotel bar. How bad is that when paying 500 bucks a night.
EVERITHINGS, AMAZING ROOF BAR, 3 RESTAURANT, EXCELLENT FOOD
I WOULD LIKE FINDI A SAUNA ... BUT IT IS NOT IMPOORTANT
The view is excellent from all angles!
Hotel staff, room, location location location, view.
You really need to add hooks to bathroom for towels and a bar to hold as you step into bathtub which is quite deep and a little slippery. Im not overweight and am in good physical condition but for ease and safety this is important.
The view from the room was almost the best part of the whole trip. We would just spend ages, staring out of the window!
We were on the 17th floor, (one floor down from the nightclub). Despite me qualifying with reservations that they would not place us under the club. It was only a problem on the Saturday night. Pumping house music until 4:15 am! Husband slept through it, but I certainly didn't.
Chic vibe, amazingly friendly and courteous staff, fun location.
Shower is open so felt cold being in it (no closed door or curtain) plus see-through from the bed which some might not feel comfortable with...
The view is amazing in the morning and night. It was worth it to stay for romantic night,
bathroom is not enclosed
The view from our room was great
The information that we were given about the hotel's facilities (in the printed info given to each guest) contained a number of errors. This included the details on how to print from your room and the opening hours of the bars and restaurants. When we tried to alert staff to this and give some feedback (after being told we couldn't go to the rooftop bar because we weren't friends with the owner - even though the room info said it was open to guests) the response we got was a bit 'Whatever, loser'. The overall impression we got (from this and from how our room was maintained during our stay) is that staff training and morale is poor and that the 'polish' on this property is all surface and there is little attention to the details. In comparison, we stayed a few nights at The Standard, West Hollywood directly after this stay and it was great. (Also, if you have any mobility challenges I wouldn't recommend this place - at least not the room we had - as the bed is futon-style and very low and the bath is deep with high sides and no handrails.)
We stayed on the "Hudson River side" -- which had floor-to-ceiling, sweeping views of downtown and clear across the river with a skyline of Hoboken, NJ to the other side. But, the hotel had us first checked into another room -- it basically showed a building next door under construction -- so I'd recommend requesting the river side.
Our room was clean and comfortable, but there were quirks. Such as, I could not find any place in the bathroom to hang a towel! So even a wet hand towel was left on the counter. There were also no real drawers for clothing here ... just an open closet with hangers in the bathrm., with a couple of small slots there to store things. I did smile broadly when I saw the huge bathtub (with a nice touch of a supplied bubble bath bottle) -- but there were no hand rails near the tub. This room was def. not designed for handicapped travelers... As others have mentioned, the shower area is open -- there is no glass door. Also, while the king bed was comfy, it sits right on the floor, like a water bed.
Stinky bathroom Techno music Lack of a decent lobby bar Paying 20 for a Manhattan. Overpriced
The location is great and the hotel is very good
Prime location! Would without a doubt stay here again. The staff was very friendly and accommodating for our needs.
Worth going just for the view from the bar and nightclub. Brunch was outstanding too. Service good and the Meatpacking District well worth a visit.
Room was rather shabby with most of the trendy black surfaces scratched. Didn't like the way the room was designed at all.
The floor to ceiling windows with amazing views of the river & Chrysler Bldg. Super comfortable beds. Hotel seemed very busy & Popular. The front desk staff were very good & helpful. We did the Sunday Night Bingo and had a fantastic time!
My only complaint is that the maids make a lot of noise on the floors when they are cleaning. I never heard so much door banging in my life!
Location, views from the room, design, the standard grill, top of the standard bar and resturant!
Shame the hotel guest do not get preferral treatment at the bar and nightclub on the roof!
location and vibe
No drawers or storage for clothing and no privacy in the shower/bath
Smells on the Like bleach on the holway, For this money room to small
The view was awsome! Room service eas good and nice toileteries in the room. The bed was so soft!
There was a misunderstanding with my luggage. Airline company lost my luggage and when we signed out of the hotel the front office said that it is ok if they are going to send my luggage over there. They even confirmed my contact information. On the next day when we called the hotel to ask if my luggage has arrived they said that they are not going to accept any delivered luggage after we are checked-out. I had to rearrange my delivery an it made me nervous. It made me doubt on the credibility of the hotel.
This really is an exceptional place to stay. Great staff, comfortable, stylish rooms and views that can't be beat. Breakfast at the Grill is also amazing.
Watch out for the door policy at the bar on the 18th floor. You'll need to dress smartly. The door team are a bit snarky.
