Location & view were fantastic
Room on 16th floor was unbearably noisy from nightclub above. Had to switch rooms at 2am
the design and location
Rooms are to small and that they don't let you go in to their club or rooftop
Ambience, mood, people
The location is excellent -- right in the middle of the shopping and dining scene you expect in NYC, minus the midtown tourists. The floor to ceiling windows offer excellent views, and the beds are very comfortable. I would stay here again due to the location alone.
The standard tends to have the reputation of being a luxury hotel, presumably because it hosts events frequented by celebrities. Don't be fooled -- the rooms are a slightly more design-forward version of your standard NYC Doubletree, Marriott, etc., and the service is comparable to that as well. Don't come here expecting luxury hotel service like what you would find at a Ritz or Four Seasons; the staff at the standard is what I would refer to as politely disinterested. Everyone knows about the glass showers by now. I personally disliked them because having a bathroom with no door that is basically part of the sleeping area made an already small room feel smaller. Overall, the hotel is fine if you want to stay at what is basically a trendy Doubletree.
Fantastic interiors, welcoming staff, amazing views, huge bath
Staff was great - they went out of thier way to accommodate us. Food was very good.
Location was great, amazing view
Room is tiny & just a clear screen between you and the bed. Overpriced but it's New York after all.
View and location
Noice , extremely small rooms
Location and cleaning was really great.
Not knowing what view you could expect, there is a great difference to get Hudson and city view compering just city!
one of the best hotels I know stylish cool club on the top great view
Location was good. Well situated for both East and West villages and not easily commutable to Mid Town. Rooms were clean with great views.
Staff in both bars were arrogant even when serving us drinks in dirty glasses.
Loved the view and the area... I knew the hotel already
the wifi is a disaster
I loved the design & views from the room. The building itself is also very cool. And the restaurant is very good. The Boom Boom Room - bar at top of The Standard is the most glamorous bar I've ever been too. Contrary to other reviews I have read, staff were also lovely. The area is really chilled. Great vibe.
It was a little walk away from Subway. As mentioned the Bar on top is awesome BUT they need to pull their socks up re:cocktail menu. They are expensive & ordinary. I drank a more delicious cocktail at JFK airport. It's a crime that their cocktails aren't amazing because it's such a beautiful space.
Room View Bed comfyness bar on the roof
We love The Standard. The location, the vibe, the food, the staff. The rooms are great with a seating area and the best bed we've ever slept in. The room is very well planned and even though we had a Queen room it felt big.
The noise from the club at the roof top was a bit disturbing in the middle of the night since they close at 4 am. We were at the 13th floor and still heard a lot of the music played.
Fabulous hotel in a great location. Lovely views and well equipped excellent rooms
While some staff were excellent (concierge and reception), some were very poor (bell boys etc). Only downside to the accommodation was the bed. It was very small and poor quality sheets/duvet.
The views were great -- we also liked the furnishings.
While I didn't mind this aspect, I can't help but imagining a set of business travelers sharing a room, having to deal with the plate glass between the shower and the bed... there is no privacy except in the WC. (We thought it was great, though)
I like the decor Food was nice
There was a plumbing noise that was very loud when someone in next room was taking a shower Sounded like a loud horn
I missed a conference room
Loved the service levels and location. Boom boom room at the top of the hotel is a fantastic bar - great atmosphere, service, and breathtaking views. Loved that there were lots of towels in the room.
As a regular business traveler to NYC I'm used to small hotel rooms. However I jokingly referred to my room at the Standard as an equivalent to a cruise ship cabin. Furniture was tired, and the bathrooms needed some TLC. Carpet was frayed against windows. I had another reservation booked for later this month and canceled as the room quality is better at the Sheraton Four Points Soho for a better price.
Hip place and fabulous location for the Halloween festivities in the village...amazing rooftop bar . Restaurants with amazing food
The rooms were small and the elevator too dark to see the buttons . Pricey breakfast for 4 people but a good diner right on the next block
interesting design, diferent style,
i ordered a room with a bath tub, for a requested price, because of not availability we got a room without bath tub! at the for the same price without discount! the hotel is to far away from center broadway, very expensive, for not any availabe aditional service. i think there are much better options available.
Top floor bar, gym, fantastic views
lots of things to do / places to see / restaurants to eat et right outsive the hotel. With also walking distance to the village is this one of the best places (20+ visits) i´ve tried in big apple
very crowden in evening / night due to the popular scene upstairs
Very happening, amazing location
Taxi's not always at the ready Rooms arequite small but that's NYC
