The overall feel at ease and gentle approach by the whole staff...
with rare exception e.g. at the outside restaurant, as a longstay resident (for 2 weeks) you feel treated more as a tourist
Location and restaurant
The room views and layout. The food. The Location
The Le Bain club is a bit out of control.
Had to crawl over my husband to reach my part of the bed. Is this what you can offer for USD 795...?
The bars and the views from the bars is second to none
The rooms are very small
Great if you are mostly in Soho / Meatpacking great view nice gym a lot of vibe around the hotel. restaurant and terrace is always full.
Way is a bit long if you have a lot of stuff to do near central park. typical tourist sights are not too close. you have to use train. taxi takes always ages in traffic jam. not perfect if you like it quite
The view, the location cannot be beat.
HVAC control unreliable and key card trouble.
Perfect location. Many fine restaurants, friendly staff. The rooms were small but comfortable, nice and generously provided with towels. Very comfortable beds. Quick and efficient cleaning.
A disapointment: you can´t visit the roof bar after 10 pm thursdays-saturdays
Location. Happy atmosphere. Magnificent rooftop.
Room too tight. Bathtub impractical. no storage space. No suitcase space. Noisy. Too expensive for what it is.
Unable to get drink in the beautiful restaurant. Told they didn't have room, sure didn't look like it.
Location, location, location Reception / checkin - fast, efficient, friendly Heated terras
Free wifi is slow option, fast wifi is at premium charge... so old fashioned. Even in Africa you get fast WiFi included... So 2010....
The views, and moderness of the rooms.
The rooms were a bit small, and there was not much space at all to place your personal items and clothing. Luckily the views were killer.
I came for New York Fashion week so the vacation was perfect for the events and shows I was attending. I was able to work in the lobby and my room in between shows. The staff was wonderful and very attentive to my needs!
I wish The Standard had some sort of points system. I travel to NYC often and would love to always stay at the Standard, but do to their lack in points system for returning guests, I find it easier to stay at a Marriott, Hilton etc.
Very stylish hotel with a amazing views of the city! We got a complimentary upgrade to a corner suite which was beautiful! All of that with great location made for a great stay! Definitely will be back!
Good location near the highline, river and Chelsea mkts. Funky decor and fabulous views. The concierges were attentive and helpful.
We couldnt get into our room until 5:30 pm because it wasnt ready when we arrived. But no apologies and they didn't tell us when it was ready - we had to keep asking by getting in the queue at reception. The staff especially in the ajoining restaurant and bars are largely disintetested and seem to be operating under the impression that they are doing you a favour despite the high prices. Eg at breakfast it took over 39 minutes to get a coffee and when it finally arrived it was the wrong one. And the two underemployed floor managers were more concerned about preening than serving - the male of the two with heavy makeup foundation on. Plu-ease. Overall the staff need to stop believing they are in a cool hotel so they dont need to try - it is extremely annoying! Ps you can hear the rooftop nightclub at 3:00am even on tbe 14 th floor.
The view is pretty amazing
Half the elevators to the guest room floors are taken out of service for hotel guests in the evenings so that the hotel can give non-guests access to their popular top floor bar. That leaves just two (!) lifts for all the hotel guests to get to their rooms. You can expect to wait 10-15 minutes for an elevator along with 20 other people who are all desperately trying to get to their rooms! On more than one occasion one of the two lifts broke down which left us with ONE lift. Never again! Staff are pretty unfriendly.
A very trendy and fun hotel. The location is great and the views terrific.
The wait time for the elevators is long and location of elevators is confusing.
Facilities: roof terrace, bar on top, terrace down in front, lobby, etc.
Good food Nice bars
The staff was sometime too lay back and not professional.
the view, the staff, the food, the service
the a/c in the corridors at a veryyyy low temperature!
Everything other than the view. Staff was disorganized, hotel furniture is all modular and cheap, dirty, no decor, food horrendous. Made me sick to spend that kind of money for that hotel. NEVER AGAIN
Location Variety of restaurants Rooftop Bar Gym (excellent view and great facilities).
Room was very noisy, could hear patrons in the outside dining areas and also noise from the rooftop bar. Could also hear when my neighbours flushed the loo and used the shower.
Modern and beatifully designed bathroom whit good products. great beds. Fantastic rooftop bar with great wiew and a very elegant and warm atmosphere, the highlight of the hotel.
Room nothing exceptional. Very minimalistic decoration meening small not at all comfortable sofa attached to the wall, no space to pass the cormers of the bed, very limited space for clothes and absolutelsy no knobs ti hang jacket, towels etc. Dark entrance, very unwelcoming lobby and common areas, not 5 star serviceminded staff in restaurant, long wait for food (and orders!) at breakfast -not good on a business trip. Had to ask for attention! Payed 800 USD for small corner room on 4th floor (= no wiew from the big windows!), definitely not worth it. We have stayed in other NY hotels with larger and more comfortable rooms with much nicer atmosphere for half the price!
