The Staten Island Hotel

I found all of the staff to be very friendly and helpful, the shuttle to the ferry very convient and drivers very prompt. The room was clean and quiet. The hotel is also convient to a number of resturants. The Continental breakfast was adequate and staff helpful when I wanted cereal with no sugar, went and found one and brought it to me.

Parking could be more convient. When I first got there had to park in the back which if I had large suitcase would have had to walk up hill to front as the back door was up rather steep steps and the door itself very heavy. I was able to move around to front later in evening which made parking much easier.

Location

Many things.....did honor your pricing, but made it clear that it was not the going rate, and did not know how we got that rate..showed confirmation. Also......bar/lounge was not open sat pm, therefore they did not offer the drink vouchers, with no more than a shrug of the shoulder.....no concession. Also, we had option continental breakfast(included in rate) and al la carte.

the hotel environment was appealing, staffa accomadating, and the rooms were clean and quiet.

the ease to get to from the highway.

The continental breakfast (included with the room) was disappointing (for example no protein at all), and confusing what to expect (we got to the room there was a prices list for breakfast even though it was included in the room price) The shuttle was not explained well, the last shuttle at midnight meant, 11:30 pick up at the Ferry. which made it practically impossible to see a Broadway show.

Free parking, next to Applebee's and oftered additional breakfast items in the morning, for an additional cost.

The complimentary "continental" breakfast for very measley. We order breakfast because the breakfast was so meager. Also, the shuttle to the Staatan Island Ferry was booked for well over one hour of the time we wanted to go eventhough staff said we needed only 1/2 hour notice to get the shuttle. I called for the shuttle at 10:00 for 10:30. The shuttle was full until 11:30. We drove ourselves.

The bed was comfortable, maid service and staff were cordial, thorough. Our request for a nice view was accommodated.

We asked for a quiet room, which was accommodated until our third night, when a dog was placed in the adjoining room and left alone, barking and whining loudly at 5:30 a.m. After an hour we were relocated to another room, an inconvenience at such an early hour on Thanksgiving day. We were given 2 drink passes, and a free breakfast. Bar wasn't open, and we left before the restaurant opened.

Very convenient location - we were there for the NY Marathon.

Lack of facilities - the free WiFi rarely worked.

The shuttle service was prompt

No microwave in the room.

Le transport fourni gratuitement entre l'hôtel et le Ferry, excellent service, très pratique donc pour laisser l'auto dans le stationnement de l'hôtel (très sécuritaire) et se rendre en Ferry directement sur Mananthan. Belle aventure avec les enfants et une façon originale d'appercevoir la Statue de la Liberté. Au retour en soirée la vue est exceptionnelle.
