The Strand Hotel

Hotel looked quite new to me and had clean rooms, friendly and helpful staff, good location at midtown Manhattan, short walking distance to subways as well as Grand Central and Penn Stations. Breakfast was included in the room price. Good view from roof top bar. Elevator system that worked without long waiting times.

Breakfast area was rather limited and served only continental breakfast. My room for two people was pretty small, perhaps OK for two but was tight with the luggage.

I liked the fact that the hotel was new, stylish and was centrally located. I felt it was real value for money.

Being so close to so many things shops, empire state building, time square. the staff were very helpful and friendly.

Hotel takes a pre authorization on credit card as a purchase limiting the available funds you have to spend on your holiday and then does not promptly refund this amount to your card upon checkout

Breakfast could be refilled more quickly. Only 2 elevators are available for 20 floor, this is a big downer, you spent a lot of time waiting.

From our arrival at the door of the hotel we were treated by friendly welcoming staff. We had a great room and the roof top bar was a real treat,with a fantastic view of the Empire State Building. All of the staff met and surpassed our expectations. We will return to this hotel without a doubt

The room is small.

Friendly staff, room clean and comfortable but on the small size. Hotel ideally situated for sightseeing and within walking distance of most attractions. Nice rooftop bar with great view of Empire State,

Restaurant not yet open, 4 beers in rooftop bar $40 so on high side.

Fantastic staff. Very large rooms for NYC standards and good breakfast included.

The staff at the Strand were an absolute pleasure. They were all extremely helpful and courteous. The room was very clean and comfortable. Great!!!

The location can't be beat -- right in midtown, close to the subway and just a short walk from Times Square/Herald Square/Madison Square Garden. The design of the hotel was very chic, the bed was comfortable, and the rooftop bar was a great touch.

The room was small, but that's to be expected for NYC. There was no room in the bathroom to put toiletries -- they could have at least put up a small shelf to hold those.
