The Strand Hotel  

This hotel has a great location for sightseeing, shopping, etc. It´s comfortable and exhales a thirties feeling with a modern twist. The staff is friendly and the roofterras is a bonus at night.

European families please note: roofterras for 21+ only, as they serve alcohol. The waitress told us our 18 year old son wasn´t even allowed to have a soda up there! Besides that our teenage kids found the hotel "very chill".

The hotel was ideally situated for the sightseeing that we wanted to do. The view of the Empire State building from the roof top bar was unforgettable

There was nothing to dislike about the hotel, it ticked all our boxes

Nice room with view on ESB! Good shower, very good housekeeping. Food in restaurant is very good as well.

Breakfast is okay but there is not much, so you have to be fast or wait a bit until they refill. Coffee and juices must be drunk in paper mugs and plastic glasses: Not very tasty! The barmen were sometimes more busy flirting with girls who came to visit them instead of preparing our drinks. The receptionist called a cab to bring us to a restaurant in Brooklyn at a price that was way to high. He called a friend of his, we think. In that way the reception dissapointed us, they took advantage of us, innocent tourists.

Very good staff and good service

The staff members are always curteous, friendly and helpful. They made me feel welcome and went to great lengths to make me feel comfortable. The rooms are beautiful and comfortable. I went there in winter and not once did i feel that my needs were not catered for in respect of the room. The restaurant is superb. Although I went out for lunch and dinner, there was no need to because of the quality of the restaurant.

Excellent location, nice staff, interesting design. Breathtaking views from windows and rooftop terrace/bar.

Poor acoustic of the room (you can hear every word spoken outside), and minimalistic breakfasts. Not bad, but could be better.

Impossible to really use the wiresless on the room. Very poor. Also very noisy with parties of young people on the same floor having events in the rooms.

Hotel was convenient to Penn Station & Bryant Park area, shopping, Times Square. Hotel staff are efficient, friendly, helpful. Room was comfortable & clean

Consierge assisted show tickets are ridiculously expensive. I suggest going online & purchasing before you come to the city.

Very small rooms! Deluxe Double room is very small. Small closet. For one person for some days okay, but with two people a joke.

Staff couldnt have been more friendly and helpful. It was comfortable and in convienent location.

The shelf in the closet was covered in dust and the room looked like it was cleaned in a hurry when I checked in. Not awful, but... The bigger complaint was not about the hotel, but the fact that next door is a major construction site generating major noise from 7am to 6 pm.
