restaurant and service
Very clean, huge Room, great Shower, huge closet, great view, staff at front Desk, cleaning staff, staff that stored my luggage, bar staff, restaurant staff , superior food, perfect location and nice clients. Will return
No tv channels in bedroom
Wow what a beach opposite with the hotels own sun beds and umbrellas free of charge. This hotel is situated in one of the best locations, no need for a car. It's amongst bars and restaurant on ocean drive. Two blocks behind is espanola way a pretty street with tapas restaurants, fish & seafood. Avalon a fish restaurant worth a visit. The Tides staff were very friendly. A quiet hotel. Our room was next to the lift, but we were not disturbed by any noise. Neither did we hear any noise from outside the hotel. Very large & clean standard rooms. The bed was huge and very comfortable. I would highly recommend this hotel and look forward to going back. Thank you The Tides for a fantastic holiday,
spacious rooms right on south beach great views from bed room welcome cocktail
no breakfast included in price no tea making facility in room
most pleasant and helpful staff lovely pool area great location
The front desk has given us some wrong information about the car we rented, and the agent we were dealing with. There is no coffee maker, or tea maker, and you have to pay for your morning coffee! that was a shock to be frank, and its not cheap at all! you better get a starbucks for your coffee!
- great location on the beach - room was nice, large and clean
- general feeling that the hotel was a little old and in need a refreshing - restuarant and bars were dead, hardly any customers - bad smell througout the communal areas of the hotel
excellent small hotel with perfect location
The room was large and comfortable with good facilities. The hotel's position within South Beach was very good with quality shops, bars and restaurants all within an easy walk. The journey to the airport was also relatively quick and straightforward.
Some of the reception staff had limited knowledge and confidence. The street noise (loud adjacent bar) was a problem at night until about 12.30am
nothing everything was good
Softer, warmer, color coordinated, updated room decor to replace hard, tile floor, worn area rug and junk art. Complementary breakfast included in price
Decor in room left a lot to be desired. It was dated, thrown together and worn. Room felt cold and unwelcoming and lacked some amenities like water glasses. While location was good (ocean view, high floor), the room seemed not worth the price. A good, complementary breakfast offering would have softened the disappointment.
Great room and view
need new beds
Beatifull lobby, good bed.
Bad staff. The price is very expensive for what the hotel gives. The manager was very rude answering my questions. The location is beside lots of very busy bars and restaurants, very noise because of the parties. The toilet at the room have no door. We have no privacy at all. As a 5 star hotel, it should have at least a few things better to make the guest happy. But it was a shame at all. Do not recommend.
Clean comfortable room. Nice pool and proximity to the beach.
Service was poor, as if no one worked there. Took forever to get a drink at the bar, and even worse was the breakfast service. Also, noisy strip - like Constant Spring break activity going way too late.
The bellhop. After that it was all down hill.
This hotel has seen its day. It looks like they haven't spent a penny since opening. The room is quite large (I had an ocean view studio) but clearly there is no priority on maintenance. The light bulbs were out. The walls water stained. The desk stained. The windows too thi the block the street noise (and my room was almost at the top). When I wanted to check in early they refused to look simply saying no. When it was time to leave they called 11 minutes after check out time to threaten to charge me $50. I was just closing my bags and left 6 minutes later. You could pay me to go back! Oh and there is no guide to hotel services (something every hotel and even motel has) and when I informed them (I was trying to find their pool) they said "oh that's a great idea I will have to tell management"). You couldn't pay me to go back.
I like everything, the whole ambiance The Restaurant outside the main lobby door plus the excellent music from the 1-man band.
A little loud from some of the bars by nearby hotels but normally the noise subsided after 11:30pm
Beautiful spacious room with modern decor... Clean... Great location
Ocean Drive and the location
The service was totally insufficient for a hotel of that category. The breakfast was precooked and burnt. There was not real security, and nobody welcoming at the entrance. No help with the luggage. Room windows are very dirty. Not a 5 star hotel in my definition
The front desk staff
Beautiful hotel, staff couldn't do enough for me throughout the stay, sorting everything from travel, laundry and restaurant advice. Beautiful hotel, room was immaculate and restaurant served a nice range of food. I won't think twice before staying here again.
At times got a bit noisy outside the hotel, but live music was very much appreciated during dinner time.
Location Friendly staff
Breakfast mediocre No light switch next to bed Limited clothes storage space
Fabulous room, which we got upgraded to without asking and no extra charge. Spectacular view from the Ocean facing 8th floor view.
Paying 35 Dollars a day for " Valet Parking " which entailed the car being parked at the front of the hotel about 5 yards from where I left it.
The overall style and the building itself. The reception/portering staff and the French waiter and waitress.
The clear lack of management and "vision". Poor attention to detail which is a shame. It is very noisy.
Location was very good.
Rooms need to be updated.
the location is great, the art deco design and the view overlooking the sea. lots of privacy because there are few rooms The staff is friendly
the value for money is bad, the hotel is a bit old for what it offers. the rooms are very large but the breakfast is not included and expensive parking. we have had a problem with the bed (the mattress was old and creaked with areas endorsed.). we have not solved the problem right away, the first night we slept very badly. we were charged for the room ($ 350) but they gave us the garage all week. The pool is very small and the gym small but nice. THE evening there is a bit of noise for a room below but are up to 23.30. The whole 5 days we paid $ 2,400 without breakfast.
