location and facilities
There were problems with the heating system.
The location of this hotel was perfect for seeing Easton and visiting St. Michaels.
One member of the front desk staff was rude to several customers, not just myself. I got berated for following the directions of other members of the staff, who were trying to be helpful. Also witnessed this individual being rude to another guest who made what seemed to be a simple request.
Very noisy at night
I arrived at 9 after a long trip, just as the kitchen closed. Not only couldn't I get any food from the inn, nowhere in town was open. Be prepared. I also like coffee in my room, which the Tidewater does not provide.
The facility itself was beautifully decorated, in the heart of the downtown of Easton
The air conditioner was not working properly and it was very uncomfortable. For the amount we paid to spend the night there, I believe there should have been better communication and even some compensation for the discomfort. We called the front desk 2 times to complain about the room temperature, and the first time we were told the maintenance man would be up to fix it. We never saw or heard from him. The second time, the front desk person said she would call the maintenance man and call us back, and we never heard from either.
Beautiful old hotel with charm
No exercise room low on amenities and they wanted you to use your towels and bedding for two days if I'm paying that much money I want fresh linens daily or give me a discount on my room rate
Location Public rooms are super staff
Really needs coffee maker in the bedroom Breakfast expensive - charging for drinks We stayed during the week apparently weekends can be very busy with weddings!
The bar and restaurant were great in quality and service. A comfortable place to stay!
Our very large well appointed room.Great breakfast.
Location, right in the middle of town. Unfortunately the town shuts down at 5:00.
Hotel rooms not cleaned well. Restaurant freezing cold. Food good experience fair.
Tiny bathroom, slamming doors
We would like to express our appreciation, especially to one staff member Walter.
The bathroom was tiny, but what one might expect in a vintage hotel.
Location center of town
Air conditioner did not work had to open windows noise on streets
The lobby, courtyard and restaurant was beautiful. The bar made wonderful drinks and the food was delicious. I would recommend this venue for dinner or to host a party or event.
The room and bathroom were very tiny. The walls were very thin, so we could hear every conversation that occurred in the hallway at all hours of the night. We could also hear the "activities" of the people in the rooms next to us with great clarity, which was unpleasant.
We loved Tidewater! We met there at a wedding over 18 months ago and came back to celebrate our new lives.
Staff very helpful and friendly
Quiet location Reasonable price Very clean room
Room on the small size but nice Parking area not very large
Location Atmosphere of historic building and area
Did not advertise as pet friendly although this did not effect stay
Comfortable beds, friendly employees, delicious restaurant
Noisy halls in the middle of the night.
LOCATED NEAR VERY GOOD RESTAURANTS.
ICE ONLY ON SECOND FLOOR.
The hotel was right in the center of Easton and beautifully decorated.
This hotel was absolutely one of the most delightful places that we've ever stayed. We loved the historic feeling to it but, best of all, was the food in the dining room - absolutely delicious. The menu gave you as many choices as you needed and the food was simply outstanding. The staff couldn't have been more accommodating. My husband left his camera behind and as soon as we arrived home we had an Email telling us to contact the hotel so that they could arrange to get the camera back to us. Every other place we've stayed, whatever we left behind was pretty much confiscated and we never saw it again. We were very impressed with the way the staff at The Tidewater Inn handled the situation. During our stay, all of the staff was courteous, helpful, friendly, and efficient. GOOD JOB!!!
