Mixed feelings about Hotel staffs. No professionalism but yet they answer your question in a word or two. Need to knock the window or door of the reception area as hotel staffs are mostly in their apartment/kitchen right behind the reception area. No tea/coffee maker/supplies. I had to request for a room service after 3 nights of stay, but after I requested the service was provided.
5 mins walk to BART in 16th and mission, from there 25 mins to SFO airport, and 5 mins to downtown San Fransisco; many good bars within minutes of walk; free wifi; flexible check in and check out time.
Beware and check your invoice and your room first! After a 20h trip overtired on arrival we didn’t realize that we’ve been charged twice the taxes, took some arguments and time to get our money back, moreover we've been offered an 8 squaremeter single-room for two people, even though a double/twin room was booked for 7 nights, they changed it the next day into a slightly bigger room, but on request and no excuse or refund was made for the first night. The room was pretty basic, rather like a hostel, equiped with a small bathroom, a huge and noisy fridge (option to unplug), hairdryer wallmount (with no hairdryer) and a non working cable tv (some knowledge about old Sony Trinitron tv with settop box programming made it running at least..), room has no wardrobe at all.
No staff, see mousse in the room etc
Outside the hotel smelled like urine because there was urine on the street! It was next to a pub, it was so loud we could not sleep until after 1 am!
We had our own bathroom and a fridge. It was close to some stuff.
Good value. Center of town, access to public transit.
Far from piers
Mission District. Close to metro.
I asked for a senior discount and they frowned snd refused. 200.00 per nite for a tiny unventilated room. The first room offered was so small you could not walk around the bed and the bed so soft I had to ask for a different room. A very little bit better, that one. No window screens , sirens frequently, and second night I heard pot shots - like a gun, several times waking me. Noisy toilet. Would not stay here again for that kind of money . The young Indian woman covering her face I felt was rude to me to ask for a discount . They downgraded me to a one bed room Which should have cost less!
Mosaic floors were festive.
Shared 1 bathroom & 1 shower with whole floor. Over priced, 350 a night for 3 small single beds in a closet like space
The back fire escape was fun to hang out on
The hotel smelled everyday like Indian food
location that's about it
The prospect of shared bathrooms when I booked
Location Room with 2 double beds had it's own bathroom The in-room bathroom was spotless
Mission district is the best! Rats in the hallway is the worst...0
Noise coming from the street and from the adjacent nightclub, but after long days of visiting SFO, you easily fall asleep and the noise is not a problem anymore.
Very nice and helpful people. Clean and spacious room.
The price isn't affordable
Didn't like the fact that their was no restroom in the room! The shower and bathroom were shared among all of the people who booked a room. I felt uncomfortable and not even a light fixture. I ended up not sleeping there, because of fear and uncomfort.
Outside looked appealing
- The room wasn't ready (3 hours after official check-in time) - Small rooms without air conditioning (it is a bit stuffy in the room)
- Great location (Castro): lots of bars and restaurants next door - Quite clean
It is nothing more than a really expensive hostel in a dodgy area which is a long way from where the tourist really wants to be. Do not stay here.
Rude staff, way to expensive. We wanted a room for two but payed for a room for three. The room was not clean, smelled funky, and the mattresses were a whole different story.
Can't think of much, honestly, besides the location.
parking problem but it's not a big deal.
price, but the whole city is very expensive.
lively area, simple and small but clean room, close to BART station (Mission/16th)
Price is a little high as rooms are very basic. But San Francisco is expensive...
Great location, valencia street is a nice area
Smells horrible inside.
Lack of screens on windows since we had to open then for ventilation.
The room was very clean.
Clean room Location
Hotel would not hold luggage before check-in time.
Hotel was very clean and well maintained, and service was fast. Location is surrounded by restaurants.
