Everything was perfect

Breakfast could be better

Quaint, historic and clean. Lots of ambiance. Great location. Love the extras like wine & cheese, cookies & milk and continental breakfast. Louie's California Bistro in the dining room was a big plus.

Historic means older and noisy at times but still nice.

Room was quaint, with nice furnishings and comfortable bed.

Wonderful location; terrific historic facility and could be really comfortable.

Poor value for money; wine and cheese is low end for a seemingly nice place, matttress inour room was worn out and noisy; TV is outdated; "oreo" cookies is weird. A few changes could make a big difference. Overall impression is a tired and shabby place with a high price.

Beautiful Victorian hotel, gorgeous gardens, excellent location, wine & cheese in the afternoon was a treat

Continual breakfast was kind of lean for room price

Lovely, enjoyed the lobby and the gardens with it's Vintage charm. It was very relaxing to sit outside in the garden and enjoy coffee and scones. Felt a little like being in another time and place.

Room a little small.

We liked the style and history of the hotel! It was charming and very cozy.

Internet was hard to aquire after a few attempts we gave up. But overall not a major thing.

We liked the size of the room, fireplace was delightful, heater worked well, bed had wonderful sheets and was comfortable, convenient to shopping and restaurants

Could have used a microwave oven, when we opened the window in the bathroom there were large spider webs,

The managers were friendly. The age and history of the hotel was fascinating. Close proximity to downtown.

The walls are thin and you can hear other guests quite easily.

The history of the Upham is fantasic as the oldest continuously operating finer Hotel on the West Coast. Staff were wonderful. The Upham is a history buff's dream Hotel located in the wonderful city of Santa Barbara. The Upham is about 10 blocks from the world famous Dargan's Irish Pub and Restaurant that boasts the freshest Guiness brew on the West Coast. J. van Ee

The downside is that as a truly historic establishment running for over a 100 years the rooms are a tad on the smaller size as folks were littler in the mid 1800'S. J. van Ee

This hotel is really charming and perfect for strolling State Street. It's walking distance to the Granada Theatre for concerts and has a wonderful restaurant: Louie's. Breakfast is perfect, wine and cheese in the afternoon and milk and cookies at night make Upham guests feel pampered.

It was the best!! I would come back over and over. It was cozy and so romantic. Thx a million!

There's nothing not to like!!

The beautiful grounds and serenity as well as the location to the village center.

Its nice hotel victorian style located in the citycenter walking distace to the city center. We stayed there in Jan on our way toLA from SF. We liked the hotel as is different than other hotels very homey with history. I found it to be romantic room with fireplace.

I did not like that i did not stay longer. Nothing i did not like.

The hotel is comfortable, classic and understated. I liked that.

I didn't care for our room. It was not crowded the night we stayed there, according to the person who checked us in, so it would have been nice to have been upgraded to a nicer room.

Location - walking to downtown restaurants, shops, museum.

The hotel was fabulous. Unbelievable comfort. It was like stepping back in time. The smell of fresh baking, the fresh cookies on the tables and some wine. It was our honeymoon and we could not of picked a better place to spend it. We were sorry to leave but we will be back.

privacy, excellent breakfast food choices, quiet atmosphere, nice decor and sitting area in lobby , friendly and smiling staff, lovely peaceful garden. We will be back....

1. the bath robes were nice, but there is no place to hang them in the bathroom ( not one hook). Actually, there are not enough racks for hanging and drying the bath towels without squishing them all together on one short towel rack. We loved our room #40 but although there are several places in the bath where one could add robe and towel hooks (on the back of the door, near the shower, higher up above the toilet area) there were none. You could also add robe hooks on the horizontal 1X4 wood running along the back wall in the closet. 2. It was very nice to have a gas fireplace, but the fake logs were piled up high in front of the gas outlets and you couldn't see any flames at all except as two small spots under the logs.... the flame actually was hidden behind the logs... not the luxurious atmosphere one was expecting and rather disappointing, but this could be fixed easily.

Lovely Hotel in great grounds. They do wine tasting every night and put on a great breakfast.

It's slightly off pitch if I'm being picky. We didn't think it was a problem but if you're walking to the beach it takes about 20 mins.

Me and my wife came to santa barbara for the first time to celebrate our 6thflight year anniversary. We could not have asked for a better hotel. The staff was great. The rooms beautiful and the location was perfect

Pleasant ambiance,laid back and very relaxing

Small & intimate. Loved the vintage feel of the facility. The room felt very spa like although warm and cozy.

Like everything in Santa Barbara, it is pricey. But worth it
