The room was cozy. The kitchen was stalked well enough to prepare simple meals. The bed was very comfortable. We liked the selection of restaurants and it was very safe for young teens to be out without parents.
For the money there should be NO mildue in the shower. The WiFi was painfully slow.
Wifi was really slow
Staff was very helpful and accomodating ..location is great-wall to gondola and arrive at Canyon Lodge
I've stayed at the Village Lodge many times over the years. The property is now aging and in need of maintenance and renovation. On this trip, we changed rooms 3 times. The first night was spent in Lincoln House over the bars and no one slept. The party crowd outside until 3 am. The next room was in Main building. All was fine until our sink backed up providing a noxious odor. We were told there were no parts available to repair the sink and we would need to move again. 3rd room.. The bellman told us had been recently used for a teen birthday party. The room was filthy. Furnitire was stained, gummy substance on carpet, tile dirty, kitchen marginally equipped and a constant beeping noise that no one could find. We all were more than ready to leave. However, through all of the chaos the staff was friendly and helpful. My advice would be to rent a newer condo at 80:50 or a private home. No value for the money at the Village Lodge b
Hot tub, location, shuttle, free wifi, restaurants walking distance, parking garage,
Noisy bars at night in village,
outdated facilities. Needs remideling
STAFF VERY HELPFUL
SOME LACK OF MAINTENANCE
The house keeper was excellent, very friendly and helpful.
Front desk personnel was unable to answer questions to my satisfaction.
Everything at the village is set up to be super convenient and accessible. The snow was pretty good after the storm.
We got the room over the valet area. The room was great - but we didn't realize until late that night that you could hear every single group checking in - from partiers to families with screaming kids. Its impossible to sleep when there is a huge comotion below your room every 10 minutes till 2 am. Otherwise our trip was great. Also canyon lodge/gondola was closed so we had to drive to main lodge to get on the lifts... Would have been nice to know that when booking
The heated pool
No slippers in the room
Location was excellent. Service was ok.
Crazy expensive for what you get. Bed was terrible. Nickel and dime you with resort fees.
Great staff and nice room!
Snow plows in the morning..too loud!
Perfect weekend getaway - this place looks like it's right out of a holiday postcard. I'm already planning a return trip!
How relaxing and nice the rooms are
Elevators are slow
Excellent pool and facilities. 600 free dvds on offer if you don't wish to leave your room. Washing facilities.
A group of 7 of us stayed at the Village Lodge and I would definitely recommend this place to anyone. It had a very grand feel as soon as you walk in, which was great after a long drive. Great rooms with a large kitchen/ dining area that had all the utensils. Had underground parking and great facilities including a gym and laundry room. The staff were absolutely lovely and we had no issues with our stay here at all. The surrounding area has loads of shops and restaurants and the views of the mountains are good. Will definitely visit again!
The location of the room was very nice with its private balcony. The shoulder season is quiet which means that if you're trying to get away for a peaceful retreat, this is exactly the place for it. You get the comfort, the beauty of the location, while being not away from it all because it is still the village Lodge.
Sorry not to have the option of a bedroom with two double or queen sized beds. They only have that in a two room option at a higher price.
Hotel was beautiful, I loved everything about. We went in October so was very quiet nearly everything was closed but we just went for hikes and walks rather than ski resort. Toomey's restaurant was excellent highly recommend this place to eat. There would be so much to do in season but can be relaxing also.
Room faced the village area, could be noisy at night.
Sierra bldg attractive, clean, tidy, exc location for village retail, eateries. Efficient staff. 1 bdrm appmnt spacious & attractively furnished, had everything. Balcony & view of mntn. Elevator, secure u/cover car pking & big easy cheap guest laundry room. Housekeeping staff excellent.
Hotel info suggested WIFI available in Lobby. We could get in room on Lobby floor but was sporadic. And annoying. Efficient WIFI really needs to be freely available all rooms.
Spacious, quiet, in the center of everything (there is not much else around). Lovely facility. easy in and out. Caveat that we were not there during ski season, so cannot comment whether apppropriate facilities for skiiers, but a gondola to top of mountain leaves from right there in the complex.
All was good.
We had a huge condo with large bedrooms and communal area with kitchen & dining area. Staff were very attentive
We were there off season. I suspect certain rooms could suffer from outside noise when the resort is buzzing.
Stayed during shoulder season so the resort was nearly empty. Fireplace worked wonders. Room was very spacious. Bathroom was huge. Kitchenette was fairly good (appliances could use an upgrade but all in working oder). Insulation was fantastic. Services were great. The few village shops that were open (and restaurants) were quite good. About an hour's drive to Yosemite east entrance. Room and experience as a whole was extremely comfortable.
The kitchen tap fixture was loose, but this didn't bother me. I told the receptionist on checkout out of courtesy.
it's greatest rooms and bed. I could take sleep well and make cleaning my head.
We really loved our studio and the hotel and we will be definitely coming back!
