Boasting 3 on-site restaurants and a free shuttle service to San Diego Zoo, Seaport Village and San Diego Airport, Wyndham San Diego Bayside is located on the San Diego Bay opposite the cruise...
Score from 429 reviews Very good
Overlooking San Diego Bay, this waterfront hotel is next to the San Diego Convention Center and PETCO Park, home of the San Diego Padres professional baseball team. It features a full-service spa.
Score from 1284 reviews Very good
Featuring a hot tub, the hotel is next to San Diego Symphony Hall. Free Wi-Fi access is available. A restaurant and lounge are located at this all-suite hotel.
Score from 676 reviews Good
This 4-star hotel, located next to downtown San Diego, offers scenic views of the waterfront and San Diego Bay. Guests can relax in the hotel’s outdoor swimming pool and hot tub.
Score from 657 reviews Excellent
I liked everything, location, staff, cocktails, roof top bar, gym, pool, room etx
the only thing was that the pool was closed for renovations. :-( And you have to paid for wi-fi.
beware of bottles of water - they charge $5 per bottle. The trick is to find the free one - your mistake may cost you. Lack of free WiFi. Lack of coffee/tea makers in room - why? this is just stupid; I also did not appreciate slow-reacting card readers on elevators and room doors.
A perfect week in San Diego, service was incredible, 6 star!
Construction - not the fault of the W
I love the layout of the W Hotel, I love the vibe, and I love the fact that I have a choice of bars in the hotel.
The fact I had to wait an hour just to get an ice bucket is ridiculous. I was charged for everything I was told was complimentary, like free wifi, and free local calls. Also having a bar on the 2nd floor of a 19 story building is the opposite of a "Rooftop Bar" The staff is lazy and too cool to help you. I go to Ws every where I travel, I assume this was just bad luck, but I was not happy with the San diego W.
Staff very friendly!
beds and linens are wonderful
rooms are very small..construction was going on right next door. very loud
We came to San Diego right after Thanksgiving, looking for a quiet yet central spot. It was perfect to stay in the W Hotel on a Sunday- there are very few guests around so you get to enjoy the funky interior design and lovely view of the city and ocean in peace. The bed was hard to get out of. Not been sleeping well? Come to the W and order their silky vanilla cheesecake with berry compote.
There was rat that ran past the valet stand. Slightly worrying! The valet were sweet and efficient but they charge an uncomfortable rate. We dropped the car at 7pm and were charged $39 till 8am, and charged more every hour after that.
I liked the look of the hotel.
The rooms could have been nicer. I was expecting a little more elegance. Lackluster amenities, no bathtub area.
Staff service living room @lobby proived bar and free coffee service is homely
location, busienss district that i need to drive to 5th ave for night life and dinner. but since my business event was in this hotel, it provided the convenience. Air cond somehow noisy not much dinning choices
Great service and location
The bed was too firm and the shower head dripped
room was very nice, great bathroom, decorated very nice and bed was very comfortable
Major construction going on at the time of my stay. Not able to sleep in at all. Avoid this area for a good year.
Air conditioning was not cooling enough. They sent a technician and he stated that it was working properly, that it couldn't make it cooler because the system was "water based", and that I would get used to it...
Construction woke us up early everyday. Not worth the price
The staff - Sophie at the front desk was amazing! The aesthetics of the hotel - beautiful Location The hotel room The rooftop bar
They were doing some work on the hotel second floor so you couldn't use the elevators to get to the pool or rooftop but that was a minor inconvenience.
stylish hotel, great lounge, good cocktails, nice rooms
you have to pay for everything! wifi, breakfast, parking...
Modern building. Friendly staff. Room was comfortable. Valet was responsive and ultra fast. Very polite and caring desk staff. Lobby was pretty cool with a DJ and a bar. Didn't have a chance to take advantage of rooftop bar or pool.
Location a little far for walking to/from Gaslamp. Had to walk through a sketchy area to get back and forth from Gaslamp. Room was nice except for weak air conditioning. The $40 a day for parking seemed steep but is pretty normal for area. Mostly my fault for not reading fine print as closely as I should. But it added $80 to our two night stay. I think the place is definitely designed with a younger clientele in mind. I'm not saying I'm old....
The hotel is well located near the train station, and different transportation and it is very nice and cool. There was a flooding during my stay, and in those kind of situation the staff is key Though it was a complicate and uncertain situation that might have brought problems to all guests the staff was outstanding dealing with it.
Nothing, i would come back.
Rooms & amenities. Friendly front desk and valet parking attendants.
Slow and crowded elevators! Food prices (restaurant & room svc).
The room is out dated and the bed linens were of poor quality. Also, the pool is the size of a jacuzzi.
The place is nice, atmosphere nice and staff is great
The pipe burst and was a huge inconvenience. Had to walk up 14 flights of steps daily and with luggage as well to check out. Needless to say I got my workout on.
Style and location.
Paying $ 39 to park each night!!
Have basic facility, basically okay for staying.
Everything is too much 'Creative'. Room service is not good enough.
Went during the week so it felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. Doesn't hurt that Karl Strauss is around the corner!
$40 for parking even though I'm staying at the hotel.
Loved the location of the hotel. It was a short walk many places. Front desk staff was excellent. Room was great.
No hot tub and pool was inadequate. The worst part of our stay was the bar staff. Went to both bars multiple times and the bartenders and cocktail servers never acknowledged us. We left multiple times after being ignored repeatedly (even after people right next to us were served). The only exception was one gentleman who was bar tending at the outside bar who recommended bars and restaurants to visit during our trip.
