Television needed servicing but it was promptly addressed and we had trouble getting through to valet for picking up our car.
- 150sqm three room suite - exclusive marble bath > 20sqm - walk in wardrobe - selected antique style furniture - 2 large flat screens - very clean rooms and bathroom - central location (5th ave 5 mins, Rockefeller Center 8 mins, Times Square 10 mins, Empire State 15mins, Central Park 15mins)
- breakfast not included - Wifi not included - air condition can't be adjusted (set to 21°C / 70° F) and fan constantly running - but they'll bring electric heaters in case you feel chilly...
the friendliness of the staff, who could not do enough for us. The Waldorf Astoria is a beautiful hotel with lots of charm
There was no tea/coffee facilities in the room . Behind the bathroom mirror was a little grubby and the bath looked as if it had not been cleaned
Everything about the hotel was excellent from checking-in to checking-out. Staff very helpful and polite. Room was larger than expected and suited 3 sisters very well.
Reception area, courtesy and helpfulness of staff, bathroom
Bed size was full, not queen, and I was no longer used to that. So, I felt a little squeezed sleeping with my adult son. We each had a great night, though, as the bed was very comfortable. My expectation for the Waldorf Astoria was queen-size beds. (PS: I did realize that at the time of booking. So, no surprise really.)
The Reception, the staff, the Bull & Bear bar, the opulence of the reception area and other public areas. Food in the Bull & Bear was fantastic.
Our room was very comfortable but a little bit like staying at "Grandma's".
The rooms are a good size (we had a king though). Great location
Wifi is only free in the lobby, so there are a lot of people mulling around, taking a bit away from the beautiful sourroundings. some of our taps were loose and there was a big chunk out of the toilet bowl - could be repaired.
The comfort of the beds and linens - had the best sleeps I have ever had while being away - my friend agrees with this too. The location
Staff were not as attentive as I expected. In room brochure stated 24 hour room service but when we arrived at 3am due to plane delays we were unable to get anything.
They gave me an upgrade of room and I slept in a room that doubled the size of the one I booked. Everything was excelent.
The wifi must be free in the hotel.
Entrance and communal areas, helpful staff. Good clean bed.
The bedrooms were badly maintained, curtains shabby, paintwork disgusting, windows lined with dirt, cracked marble and tiles, flaking bath enamel, fungus round the tiles in the bathroom. Extension lead for sockets. Wardrobes dated and mirror door didn't close. Breakfast in Oscars ok but poor value for money.
The hotel lived up to its name, the entrance and hallways are stunning The staff were both friendly, yet respectful, and very attentive
The air conditioning in the room was way too cold, and we were unable to adjust the temperature. The wifi is not free in the rooms, in 2014 There were not enough spare blankets The docking station docked iphone 4, the new iPhones could not be docked
Loved the history of the hotel and the grandeaur.
The water temperature for the shower could have been hotter.
Fast efficient check in, easy check out, room cleaned every morning, I never came back to find room not done
No free wifi in room
Location, roommspace, bed
Had to call a few times to get water to my room and when i got to the room there was a bad odor and had to call twice to get someone up there to clean it. Never came to clean it.
quality of concierge service is not stable
Ambiance Style and elegance Staff attentiveness and service
ice machines were not working
Support at reception
Concierge: "I wanted to excuse me for disturbing him"
The lobby was very pretty and the staff were very nice
Rooms really need to be updated. Rust bath fixtures. Cracks in the ceiling. For the price, no coffee maker in the room seems odd There was a bucket in the hall way that way catching water from a leaking ceiling that was only a feet away from our door. Air condition was terrible, never really got the room cool. Was very excited to stay here but was disappointed in the end
Too expensive - no Coffee in room. Stuffy
Well run slick operation
a bit tired in the bedroom and the wait at reception at peak times is wearing
Wonderful 1920s ambience, comfortable and clean room, excellent staff, beautiful interiors in common parts of Hotel (lobby, bar areas)
Great Hotel with kept traditions from the past.
Our room was not ready when we arrived, we had to wait 2 hours, but the hotel looked after us with drink and food and upgraded us to a suite because of the inconvenience.
The historic charm of the hotel.
Location is conveniently located next to metros and for morning strolls in Central Park pre breakfast.
WIFI complimentary in lounge area only. Room wasn't ready for check in until 5pm, we arrived at 3pm.
History & style
Location not the best, bathrooms a little dated. Some light not working in the room.
