Welcoming staff very accomodating.
There were obvious places that needed work in the building.and room bathrooms...cracks in walls where hardware is etc. I had requested ice and champagne glasses upon arrival that weren't there. Generally a fine hotel and would stay again for that same reduced rate. Many Thanks
Large superior room, had a comfy bed, and large bathroom. Linen changed as and when you require it.
Hanging space at a premium, no wardrobe. Draw space could be improved too if staying for a week or more. Toilet seat broken but not repaired during our stay. Sometimes it can be quite noisy.
The rooms and the confusion in the looby
Staff need to be a little more helpful and interested in your concerns.
Location, Bull and Bear restaurant
The restaurant and bar at the lobby was very bad attended I must wait 15 minutes just to get the menu and because I ask a lot
Since my wife's great grandfather was the first guest to stay at the original Waldorf-Astoria ( "The guest book hadn't been formally opened, but the Atlantans persuaded the clerk for accommodation. The clerk obliged and pushed toward them the ledger whose sheets were as yet unsullied--Joel Hurt and Thomas K. Glenn thus became th first guests of the hotel that was to become world famous." from Joel Hurt and the Development of Atlanta by Edge as told by a Washington, DC columnist, July 24th, 1895), it was an added bonus to share this with our child.
situation--grand lobby---anticipated reputation
rooms--antiquated airconditioning which did not function--overated reputation---i was in the USA for 5 weeks and quite frankly this was the most expensive and least pleasant of all the hotels we stayed in
Building was lovely, staff were all fantastic. Amazing time.
Room was cold despite trying to turn heating up. Water pressure in the shower was so poor made it difficult to shower. Coffee facilities in room would of been nice.
It was in the perfect location for the sites I wanted to visit. The Rooms Are Clean.
The staff are not very friendly. One of my rooms wasn't ready and I was promised a call when it was. I had to call twice and got the keys 4 hours later.
the old world charm
the long check in time, maybe a staff member could check guest's in with a iPad, got to move with the times.
Location (close to plays, central park and oyster bar in grand central) and lobby.
the location was great and the history and grandeur of the hotel was superb.
the room didn't allow for a sitting area and there was no access to tea/coffee or fridge. The lighting in the room was poor. Eating in the hotel was expensive.
The Staff were so helpful and really attentive for the special birthday that was the reason we were there. The made every effort to accommodate our needs and made some wonderful suggestions for what to see and do on the night.
There is not enough room here for the things we liked..
long wait to get the car when leaving. car apparently was in a garage on 53rd street,
Tiny room, super tiny closet,no hair dryer ,slipper in the room.
The staff and friendly service LocationLuggage Holding facility (free) Comfortable bed Location Its the Waldorf!!!
Customer service on the front desk at the arrival.and at restaurant.the cooking is poor.
Everything was 1st class
Food & beverage was pricy
Not much really
It's basically a convention centre for people who rarely get out of their State, let alone go to NY. Avoid
Was an incredible experience, looking forward to the next trip!
That the trip had to end
Staff was professional and accommodating! The rooms were large and comfortable. A great location, away from the vastness of the crowds, but close to everything. A wonderful hotel!!
It's a beautiful grand hotel within walking distance to many NYC attractions.
It was holiday season and the check-in line long between 2-3:30 (3:00 pm check-in time). But waiting 25 minutes seems a bit excessive.
The history of the hotel
