Great hotel with excellent staff
Location an lovely environment
My room was next to the dry cleaning room and every night around 2:30 am they were making lots of noise opening and closing the doors!
Cold, unfriendly hotel, poor service
The architecture is wonderful adding to a relaxed indulgent environment
The location - lots of good restaurants close by!
The decor in the room was outdated. The bathroom was of a similar style. The marble walls in the bathroom and the bath tub could have been replaced with a more modern bathroom style in mind. I appreciate the history of the Waldorf ambience but it did not manifest in an exceptionally pleasant experience for me. The intercom telephone box was also outdated and the most inconvenient type I had come across in a long time. There was not even a coffee maker in the room!
location was excellent Concierge and touring info extremely helpful
Hotel rooms were small and somewhat sad and outdated. Paying for wifi in the 21st century is also outmoded. Having to go to the lobby to use free wifi was inconvenient.
For the quality if the hotel, free wifi should be available in rooms for all guests
helpful and friendly staff
Wifi was awful, needed technician callouts and multiple resets resulting in a patchy, slow, continuously dropping service- the worst paid for wifi service I have ever experienced.
Location and breakfast
Poor service, overcrowded, not enough personnel to check in and check out, disastrous bell service, outdated rooms and bathrooms, poor amenities in hotel and rooms, e.g., not even coffee machines in rooms, dusty curtains, food overpriced and medium to low quality, etc., etc., etc. The glamour of the Waldorf is gone! I will not stay again and will not recommend it to anyone.
Nothing seemed a problem for the staff, very helpful and friendly.
WIFI is free in the lobby but not in the rooms and I'm glad we didn't pay for it as it was quite hopeless in the rooms.
Lobby and hotel common areas
Rooms need updating remodeling! Our room had a musty smell and was quite dated and in need of being updated. Linens and bedding were the same.
Great common parts and some great pictures of the hotel 50 plus year ago, excellent service
Very expensive, extras, be carefully. If you want a drink go to Starbucks across the road
service furnishings lobby
Location and grand entrance to the lobby. Extremely pleasant room cleaning ladies who did an excellent job every day with a cheerful smile.
Grumpy rude front end lobby and baggage staff, room not ready by 15.30 and giving me option to have lower grade room if I wanted to check in on time, grubby and faded has-been behind scenes interior, charging customers for wifi in rooms yet allowing non customers to access it free in lobby. Needs to wise up and understand it cannot live on its past glory now. We will go back to using the Pod two blocks away
Removal of Starbucks
The staff, the location and the hotel itself. It is beautiful.
The hotel is lovely. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Excellent location. I certainly would recommend this hotel.
There were four of us sharing a room which was fine, but there were only double beds. It would have been nice to have a room with Queen beds. I do understand that some of the rooms might not be able to accommodate Queen beds.
I like the idea of staying at the Waldorf, it's like walking through history. At a glance it's elegant and inviting.
The room was VERY small, not what we had expected. Peeling wallpaper, peeling paint on a wall mirror, slow drains in the bathroom. But the worst of all, we found black mold behind the peeling wallpaper! Then an hour wait for my car to be brought around by the valet.
We loved the hotel. The Art Deco style was gorgeous -- so New York. Particularly impressive was the extremely friendly and helpful staff. Housekeeping came quickly to bring us extra blankets and a sewing kit and we had to have the window opened twice. Everyone we met from the hotel staff was polite, friendly and helpful. We could not have had a better experience. We will be back!
The staff were excellent and the room was great. Quite old-fashioned style of room but very clean and comfortable.
I would have liked to have been able to book bed and breakfast on-line.
The legacy, the location.
The ac was not working properly, so we were freezing in the room. The furniture was worn.
Front desk attendant remembered our conversation and the front desk manager sent us a gift relevant to the conversation- Coincidence ?
Location & staff were excellent. Beds were divine!
