The rooms were clean
The toilets were slow to flush, the rooms needs to be updated more
Branded washroom and bath items
Didnt like the feel and location of the place
It was everything I imagined and more, such a beautiful place. The cool thing we found out after we stayed, my better half's grandma and grandpa were married there.
The only thing I must say is I understand it's older but when I drew a bath there were paint chips floating all over from the tub. Not cool.
Location, beautiful old building, nice personnel, good restaurant
Very busy ( Christmas Time)
I spent lots of time wandering through this magnificent iconic building, clearly still one of New York's most impressive.
The room itself was underwhelming. Some of the furniture was literally thread barren. I think more attention needs to be given to update the rooms without sacrificing the integrity of the style. Extra blanket in room which I used to cover the unsightly chair was dirty.
The lobby was beautiful and staff very friendly and helpful.
I would have preferred to have my room a bit more dressed up to coincide with the lobby
It was a lovely experience staying at a famous iconic hotel. You see photos everywhere of it in it's heyday when Royalty, presidents and film stars frequented the place. The ballroom on the first floor well worth a look.
Our Superior room was a bit jaded. The bed was comfy but the bathroom very dated and tired. The Wi-Fi in the room was prohibitively expensive. If you just want a nice room to stay in most of the other 4 star hotels in New York would offer a better room for less money. The restaurants also very expensive. Check was a nightmare, with enormous queues at most times. We waited about half an hour to check in; it was comparable to checking in for a flight. Absolutely unreasonable. It was overall a great experience but next time I will look elsewhere.
Concierge was very helpful. Staff friendly. Location was great.
TV didn't work, but repairman came within half hour and was very pleasant and helpful. Parking was pricey. Room was nice but not exceptional...no coffee machine.
I travelled to treat my daughter for her 21st birthday... Location was fabulous...
I was disappointed at the decor in the guest room, both myself & my daughter expected to be "wowed!!!"... We both thought it was ready for a make over, the heating was very old & not easy to regulate... The electricity sockets were dated & overloaded, in my opinion a fire hazard. The curtains were dated & shabby. The bathroom was dated & shower not up to today's standard.
I was attending an annual conference. My room felt tastefully luxurious, and Hilton Honors Rewards gave me complimentary drinks at the bar, wifi, bottled water, and use of the fitness center, all of which added up to an amazing value.
The bathtub looked clean, and the bathroom itself was spotless, but there was scum in the bathtub - ick.
There was an issue, twice throughout the night with drunken teenagers running and shouting along the corridors. Upon complaining about the disturbances it seemed to be dealt with pretty quickly by security.
Disappointed with the room although it was clean and tidy, it appeared to be dowdy and careworn; also the coffee stains on the back of the door added to the general lack of attention to detail.
After being so disappointed with the service we complained to the manager Carlos things improved slightly not much though
the way the staff treat guests i was expecting elegance and tradition and received OK service could of stayed some where else but wanted to experience the Wardorff and over all very disappointed by our stay.
Waiting to check in Waiting over 30 min even after calling 30 min ahead. Hotel needs a make over. Rooms are very old
The staff is superb, the location perfect...easy walking distance to shops, food, and Central Park. Room service fast and presented well.
+The heater in the room had two settings...off and high.
Famous hotel in good location
Does not live up to its reputation. The rooms are old; no free internet; the hotel is so big that you feel treated as a 'number'.
HOUSE KEEPING PRIVECY IN TOWERS. LOCATION
ROOM SERVIS, ORDER WAS DELIVERED AFTER ONE HOUER. FOOD WAS UNDER THE STANDARD OF WALDORF ASTORIA. I WAS CLIENT IN TOWER OF W.A. SINCE 2001. Bull & Bear- lobster was hard like beton. PEACOCK ALLEY- hamburger price 30 dollars was hard like shoesole.
Comfy bed, excellent location
Long lines at front desk, not enough windows open/reps available. Free two bottles of water they promised at check-in were not free. Small outdated rooms, expensive food, no continental breakfast or place to purchase snacks or smaller meals. Overpriced 6 day stay with not many perks. No wow factor that I had expected.
The room was huge, the view of St Bart's and Park Avenue was brilliant, the location was ideal, close to 5th Avenue, major sights and the Metro, it is still an amazing experience.
Absolutely nothing at all
The location was great
The rooms look old and tired. The curtains and window sill were very dusty
The staff was extremely accomodating
When we first arrived there was no hot water or water pressure in the shower.
I did not like that there were no coffee pots or complimentary coffee in the room. I did not like that there was not complimentary wifi. I did not like that the brunch was $98 per person. Lastly, I did not like that they had sticky mouse strips on the window sill. I was very disappointed and won't be staying there again.
Ideally located for my needs Rates are OK for the category
The "Waldorf" promise isn't totally translated into reality. Rooms are ageing, everything looks old and blemish... You must pay for wi-fi You must pay for breakfast ($50...) You must pay to print out something outside 9am-5pm, which are the opening hours of the business centre...
The hotels location was great. Grand hotel that needs a refurb Lovely large rooms and good size bathrooms. Good quality linen and very clean.
Wifi : Surely there should be free wifi in rooms we are past paying for wifi. Worst service in the bar, your barman and waiter are rude and need to retire. We waited 55 minutes to get a bill never mond the 38 minutes to get served this is very poor for this type of hotel .
This is the most dissapointing hotel one could stay in.It lives on a name that was most attractive to the great and good, but this was many moons ago.We arrived shortly after 9.30 pm and by the time we had managed to get sorted at reception, all eateries were closed,so were advised to have room service. The hotel receptionist was unable to get our card to work,so I had to go to the ATM in the lobby. We then went to our room, which was very poor.Firstly,it was dirty, and indeed standards leave a lot to be desired.Masking tape around the draughty window,Tv did not work- it only showed their continual video of the famous who stayed decades ago.Skirting boards had been filled but not painted' a sweet paper on the floor, glass on the bedside cabinet dirty, fingermarks on the TV andso on.The bathroom was a disgrace.Having explained that my husband is diabetic, room service was to come in 40 mins. Joke.We were moved room, but unfortunately - they had mislaid our luggage! The staff have major attitude. We were told that the place was in the condition it was,was because it was old,and they were right.Old,dingy and time to forget who used to stay there-the dearly long departed - and concentrate on the people keeping the hotel open.+ One would imagine the public areas-apart from the cold-were a sign of things to come! Not so. I have never seen staff wear their coats at work before! We left early to go to the airport to stay warm. When I asked if they had a courtesy room to freshen up befare leaving,we were advised we could stay in our room for 50 dollars an hour, and if not we could change in the bathroom.Wow!!! +
Great location. Beautiful old hotel.
There was no place to get coffee in the morning.
