Expensive to eat drink etc
I have stayed in other NYC hotels that gave better service for the same money.
A great location and setting. Just walking in the hotel gives you a sense of history and old world indulgence.
Comfortable room always clean and made up
no coffee facilities but hotel found a coffee machine no wi fi in rooms
had 2 rooms one was a great size the other ok
Rooms need refurbishing. Too dark lighting. Wallpaper peeling in marble lined bathroom. Furniture marked and needing refinishing. Reception staff could be friendlier.
Beautiful art deco lobby, old style furnishings. Comfortable beds.
Rooms a little dated, newer carpet would have made a huge difference to the feel of the room. Also the hotel bar, closed 2 nights..
Lobby, staff and location, all outstanding.
Unless arriving in a Mercedes carrying LV luggage you are invisible to door staff. We struggled up the stairs with our cases. A/c in room pathetic even in spring room hot.
Room was nice in a well used way. Very clean All taxi drivers know where it is. Great location near grand central stn
unpleasant odours... someone had been smoking in the hall outside our room. very unpleasant besides us constantly reporting it.
Great knowledgeable and helpfull staff
Cost of wifi
Noisy - construction going on nearby? Rooms are dated with dodgy plumbing. Hopefully the new owners will give the hotel a refresh.
Stunning iconic hotel in a great location in midtown. Cosy rooms and easy access to everything.
Breakfast was a bit complicated. The brunch location was so busy that we had to wait a few minutes to know whether we seat ourselves or wait to be seated. Seemed short staffed for a Sunday morning.
Concierge jumped to make reservations for dinner on a late saturday night. Beautiful bar in the lounge. Nice hangout and, obviously, beautiful building with plenty of history.
No coffee/ tea making facilities in the room. No free wifi in room.
The architecture and design of the building
Each staff member was sincerely friendly and helpful. The woman who helped us check in was apologetic for the short wait. We felt that our impression of your hotel mattered. Thank you for a wonderful stay at the Waldorf Astoria!!!
Bath hot water was dirty brown colour. TV distorted on certain channels
Would have liked a coffee pot. Every morning heading out for coffee... Not fun.
Room was very spacious. Deluxe room had two full baths and lots of closet space.
No coffee/tea making machine in room. Most all hotels have this now and it is a great inconvenience not to have it. Also, bathroom should be updated.
Building, location, status.
There were many incidents during our stay: First, there was no coffee machine in the suite. So we called and asked for one, and it was sent to our room, but we had to call every day in order to ask for new capsules. Moreover, every day when cleaning the room, the housekeeper left some garbage in the cans. It was very unpleasant. The room indeed looks very luxurious, but after examining it, you see that all the furniture and the accessories are quite old, some of them are loosen (for example, the drapes are not going up, the showerhead is very loose), many places in the room were dusty... We wanted to print our flight tickets and had to pay 7$ for it (this is the first time I was asked, ever, to pay for it).
The hotel's location; luxuries rooms (we have ordered two suites which were quite nice).
Wi fi free everywhere would be good
The waiter in the bar was cold and unfriendly. I didn't like having to pay for WiFi or the high price of the wine in the minibar (the beer was more reasonable).
It's a beautiful hotel that speaks history. I like the photos from the past in the hallways, the decor, and the temperature which is just right everywhere.
The curtain swag in the bedroom 1035 was broken. The Cold tap in the bathroom was broken just went round & Round(I nearly scolded myself.
The lobby was very impressive. The cleaning staff, especially, were extremely charming & helpful. Great location.
We were looking forward to a nice stay at the iconic New York Hotel. Left a bit disappointed with the state of the rooms. Very run down and the bathroom plumbing was too loud! Also, received not great service from the valet staff. Not helpful at all....watched a group of staff socialize while we struggled to load our car. Never would have happened at the Ritz or any other 5 star hotel. Not sure we will go back. Wifi did not work at all...even paying the $24.95 - waste of money.
Loved the lounge to enjoy light eats and cocktail. The Sunday brunch was amazing but lucky to get a table as fully booked.
Bar prices a little steep
The Art Deco reception and all the communal areas
i am not a coffee drinker but my wife is and she would have like it if there had been a small coffee maker in the room
Quiet, super comfortable bed, great restaurants
