No coffee in room no fan in bathroom
The best bit was the beds which were superb, such a good night sleep.
The worst bit was the lack of ventilation in the bathroom
We loved the old style glamour and people watching in the lobby. The staff were extremely attentive and not at all stuffy. The beds were really comfortable and we had a great sleep
We booked a suite in the main hotel and it was lovely but the bathroom in particular is really showing its age. The room was over the air con vents and the noise was constant but on the other hand it drowned out the city noise.
Everything was fantastic!
It is a huge, traditional, hotel, that seems well run.
It is not my type of place. I prefer smaller and less pretentious places, but that is me, it is not the Waldorf´s fault!
The wide halls with a sense of luxury and great history. Location is perfect close to the main attractions.
The front desk is always extra crowded, the check in process lasted more than half hour and it was stressful. They serve Brunch at the main lobby what makes it even more crowded and with a strong smell of food.
I did love the location of the hotel and its majestic lobby and main floor.
We encountered a bell man who was so "not pleasant" to more than one person. The beds are only double so very cramped! Could be more traveller friendly by having maps at check-in. They send guests downstairs to collect their own baggage when leaving. We checked in early and upon return have to get into the long line up again to get our keys, other guests were complaining about the same thing.
Location and Lobby
1. Floor carpet was wet 2. you can't close the bathroom door due faulty door. 3. Bed was too small. 4. Old dirty stuff. 5. No room service. 6. Worse hotel room i have seen in my life.
I do love the hotel but this time the stay was just unacceptable !!!
We waited an hour to check in . I thought we were going to be upgraded . The room had mold on the wall by the window and stains on the carpet .They placed us in a suite ,so I ended up sleeping in a pull out couch .They never offered a discount on the room or send up an amenity .
The warldorf is an american landmark. We had an amazing experience we stayed in the Marylin Monroe suite. Totally amazing!
Room was a sauna and never cooled down bathroom brown water broken shower
The situation of the Hotel. The entrance hall.
The facilities in the bathroom. The air-conditioning was very poor - to loud. The room was to hot and stuffy.
Staff was friendly and helpful. Rooms were very clean and we love the atmosphere of the hotel. We like the size of the rooms compared to other hotel in New York very spacious. Never had to wait for a taxi and the staff was very good to us, helping us in and out of the taxi. They also helped make change for the taxi went the driver didn't have any. We always stay and will continue to stay at the Waldorf when we travel to NY.
The hall this time from the elevator to our room was wall to wall chairs and tables it looked a little like a storage room. It was the paint on the chairs that we could smell but it did not affect our room. The staff explain the challenge, and apologized. Also didn't like the soap a lot of perfume. These items above are minor. I'm sure if I call to house keeping I could have got different soap. This was the biggest shock, if you are going for breakfast check the price, even on a weekday it is very expensive ($50 per person) without a tip. The breakfast was good but a little more then I was expecting.
Beds were very comfortable! Lobby was nice
Bathrooms are dated, Had to wait for check-in
structure of the hotel
no receipt on payment by credit card
The hotel was quite central, allowed us to visit all the major sights very easily
cant think of a thing, it is really a beautiful place
Luxurious, comfortable & clean!!
It's a nice hotel to look at from inside and also nice to say you stay in the hotel that you seen on a few films over the years
Very weak shower that felt like you were standing under a garden hose with a knot in it . If you like the old look then this place could be for you . But old look doesn't come at old prices £££
Most iconic hotel in NY. Great bed and pillows. Nice staff. Great location.
Expensive. Not for kids.
Situation. Rooms/beds very comfortable. Breakfast.
Cost of breakfast!
Location is great. Concierge was nice and helpful with suggesting restaurants nearby
Terrible value for money. the room we were put in was small and very old and run down. blinds were ripped, towels off white and poor quality, air conditioning noise unbearable and not able to adjust the temperatures in the room (confirmed by guest services and offered a small blow heater!). Service in bar near lobby was slow and rude, doorman not helpful in carrying luggage or helping to get a cab. Poor value for money and would not stay there again.
staying at Waldorf Astoria was indeed great, the hotel has a gorgeous atmosphore and is perfectly located close to many of the best Manhattam sightseeings. The room was everything I expected: plenty of space, quiet, clean and with a very confortable bed. For sure I would like to stay at Waldorf again when I visit NYC!
The only thing that lacks is the free wi-fi for clients. There´s wi-fi connection however you must pay for using it. This was my only complain about Waldorf, everything was just perfect.
