Friendly and spot on advice by the Concierge Pool
Jacuzzi and pool area were lovely!
Customer service was a bit dry
Located right outside of the Gaslamp Quarter and round the corner to the Trolley. Our room was huge and clean and we always had plenty of coffee and water. Housekeeping service is impeccable.
Large, clean rooms with excellent service. Excellent service at the bar with half price drinks and appetizers.
Dining room slow to serve.
Valet parking as only option.
In my room the safe box was not working. And to be honest I was overwhelmed with the staff attitude towards helping me. And because they couldn't solve the issue I was upgraded as complementary from the hotel. They have the best staff attitudes I have ever met.
Insufficient sun beds by pool
The staff was friendly, welcoming, and helpful. Very accommodating. Very relaxing atmosphere. Hotel was beautifully furnished. Will stay there again in the future. Beautiful city view from our room.
A bit pricey, but I guess you get what you pay for. If it wasn't quite to expensive, we would frequent it more often.
We had fantastic time in this hotel. For my husband and I it was our first time in San Diego celebrating our honey moon and the staff and facilities from this hotel were excellent. We had an amazing time. I recoment this hotel for your next trip. Great location, great time, and great price. We'll come Back!!!!!
I liked everything!!!!!!!!! Is an excellent hotel
The location was perfect for getting around San Diego.
The staff were utterly rude especially the manager who was condescending with no consideration for my two year old child. The food was horrible was forced to eat out even for breakfast. Never ever book this hotel again. I am writing to the owners.
Beautiful hotel, super nice staff, loved the location, super convenient how it was right next to the trolley station, made it really easy to go every where without having to drive and deal with parking.
There wasn't anything I didn't like
I like the old feel of the hotel and the cleanliness.
High rental tax fee High parking free $15 extra fee for what..
Location, cleanliness, lap pool, service staff.
Dip in the bed gave me a backache.
Everything was perfect, great staff, food, rooms, service, parking and location.
The location was excellent right in the heart of the gas lamp district. The rooms are spacious, the shower/tub is tall perfect for a person of my height. The maid performed turn down service. The manager gave us a complimentary upgrade to the premier room!
That we did not have time to get in the pool.
The hotel was exquisite. You would think you had walked into the Plaza Hotel in NYC. The West Gate truly rivals the Ritz Carlton's we typically stay at. From the furnishings in the lobby and the rooms, to the impeccable service, we were very impressed.
The only thing that may not have been top tier were the sheets. They were not bad at all, but they would be less comfortable than a Ritz Carlton.
Great service, lovely professional staff who were very friendly. Beautiful hotel, great location, and the hotel has a good eye for detail, providing extra touches making you feel a little special - lovely.
Nothing negative to say about this hotel.
The pool area with workout stations was especially nice and clean. Very nice big rooms. We will definitely be back!
The outdoor gym and running track were great. Fresh apples and water were also available for guests. The staff were all very nice and helpful. The room was very comfortable and large.
It is a bit noisy near the hotel but the noise didn't disrupt my sleep so it was ok. If you are a very light sleeper consider taking earplugs just in case.
Great location, great views, great big room
I think it is a lovely hotel. Very comfortable and value for money. I enjoyed my stay.
The hotel does not provide hairdyer.
This property had a charm from another era. It felt like we stepped back in time but still had all the conveniences of the modern day. Comfortable bed, large room and spaciouis bathroom.
Comfortable bed, decent size room
Unpleasantly surprised by the extra fees that increased the cost per night from an advertised $239 to $317.
A lovely hotel in a lovely city
