Staff was very responsive, room service was good, bed was comfy. Even during a huge conference wifi was good and quietness excellent.
Although there is a coffee machine that worked great there is no bottled water in the room. They gave me free bottles if I asked at the front desk but still... I can't drink tap water when I travel. I would honestly rather pay for it in my room than have to go buying it elsewhere or begging for it at the front desk.
Perfect location, nice room
Very expensive, poor gym, no pool
The location is great
Expensive and not value for money, rooms a little tired
Location Concierge service Bed
Small dim room Small bathroom
Staff are fantastic
Air conditioning is so loud in both our room and the rooms next door. We could not sleep with the noise of the air conditioning. We evently moved rooms because at $500 a night you expect to be able to sleep at night.
location, cleanliness, comfy bed, nice bathroom...also conciergerie was pleasant and helpful...
to be charged for services we didn't use- luckily, we checked our bill before leaving the hotel so correction was done on the spot...
The price of wifi and parking far to much
Your room rates were outrageous. Can't help but think you took greedy advantage of those participating in Dreamforce. Then to charge for Internet service at $14.95 per day was reprehensible. Doesn't matter how good the service was with this kind of business practice.
Location, location, location comfort, heavenly beds awsome food very delicious room with a view friendly staff cleanliness
Great location. Great view from our room. Staff friendly . We didn't eat in the hotel so can't comment. So many other places . Great little diners nearby for breakfast.
Hotel a bit dated. Carpets a bit smelly . Could do with a facelift in the older part. Think it's a nonsense they charge for internet. Even the Starbucks in the lobby is more expensive than the one 100 meters down the street . No swimming pool.
Staff and location
Exhorbitant WiFi in-room charge
Bed linen, bed, cleanliness and fittings; bathroom generally very good and well appointed. Elevators: really efficient; staff very helpful and pleasant, though a concierge mis-directed me, making me walk up three SF hills that I did not need to!!
Loo: too low in floor, water level in the loo too high!! Generally a slightly tired look (this was old part of the hotel)
Certainly one of the nicer hotels I'd stayed at in downtown SF. It's got a gorgeous interior, and had followed the style throughout. Staff are courteous for the most part (there was a conference in town so there was a lot going on) and it has an in-house restaurant that serves incredible food (albeit on the pricey side). The view over union square was fantastic.
The room I booked was much smaller than anticipated, but not uncomfortable. With all the people mingling in the foyer it felt quite crowded and perhaps could have done with some direction from staff. The elevators could be modernized!
Great location, fantastic views.
Paying for wifi. Seriously, it's free everywhere.
Beautiful & historical lobby. Amazing outside elevators. Rooms on floors 20+ in tower buildings are recommended. Breakfast in Oak Room is delish, but costly.
Staff in Clock Bar (not all) is impolite, unprofessional. Took 10min to bring chivas regal, forgot lemon. Took 10sec to bring bill.
Very good location, historic building.
The cleanliness of the room is very poor. My minibar is completly empty, the corridor smell and air conditioning is very noisy. Also, I don’t understand why a so expensive hotel nowadays do not have free internet access in the rooms (you have to pay 14.95 USD per day for a slow internet)! Next time in SF, I will not stay in this hotel.
location close to union square bus stop cable cars and shopping interior was very dark
carpet smelled like smoke internet cost couldn't open window nice view of building loved the lighting
The location of this hotel is excellent being right on Union Square. Coffee in the square and people watching is a must. The bed was comfortable. Windows open for fresh air. Coffee machine delivered great coffee. TV had HBO.
The non-smoking room had obviously been used by a smoker and was smelly on arrival. The air conditioner was ineffective and extremely loud. The toilet didn't flush properly. The hotel uses soap rather than shower gel.
loved the location, the bar and the beds
Clean, comfortable and spacious room. Staff exceptionally friendly and accommodating.
The room service was good, but a bit prices, we could have walked a block or two and received the same for a fraction of the in room cost.
The bed was uncomfortable and you can hear movement outside the hall or inside someones room
I registered and was confirmed for a room with king size bed. Upon arrival we were taken to a room with 2 beds. I informed the front desk that we had the wrong room. They told me there were no other rooms available. They offered a complimentary breakfast. I said no, they offered a discount on the room. I said no. This was my boyfriends 65th birthday. We booked with another couple.i had to ask to speak with another person in charge . Finally we were moved to another room. This was a very disheartening experience. Choose to stay in this hotel often. I booked the reservations for 2 rooms under Gino lamanuzzi. We pay for our own room at checkout, Robert champagne .i send all my family and friends here. I have never experienced such a thing happening here and certainly hope no one I know to have to go thru so many channels to get satisfaction. Dona noble
