Looking over San Francisco's SoMa area, moments from top downtown sights including Union Square, this hotel has on-site spa services and modern in-room amenities.
Score from 457 reviews Excellent
This San Francisco hotel features an on-site restaurant and warmly decorated rooms with a 42-inch flat-screen TV and a CD player. The Golden Gate Bridge is just 6 miles away.
Score from 1412 reviews Very good
Located in the heart of downtown San Francisco and just a 5-minute walk from the Powell Street subway station, this Hilton features an on-site Starbucks and a beautiful courtyard pool.
Score from 2149 reviews Good
This downtown San Francisco hotel is a block from Union Square and the Hallidie Plaza, which features a cable car stop. The hotel provides massage services and a tour desk.

Great location at Union Square! The concierge was excellent. She gave us a lot of helpful tips. The cleaning crew is excellent as well.
To get to the hotel gym, you have to cross the entire lobby area, which is nearly always full of tour groups, go down a long hallway filled with shops then go down a flight of stairs. The gym is not centrally located at all. When you are in the gym itself, there are multiple entrances to the gym which didn't make me feel very safe in there compared to other Westin hotel gyms I've used.
Room was clean and location was perfect to get around.
Room was not ready to check in until 6pm.
The hotel is strategically located in Union Square where perfectly suit the purpose for ordinary tourist who seeks convenient for travelling spot location in SF. Service wise, it is Westin level, no doubt. They will serve your needs from basic up to luxury demand. We stayed there for 5 nights during Christmas where peoples gather at Union Square. You just come across the street to see various famous shops and find some local foods, convenience stores and many mores. The room itself was spacious which surprisingly clean in this modern city. The lady in reservation allowed us to have free wifi in the room, which was helping our kids to access internet for updating their social applications. All in all, would highly recommend Westin for families who have kids and don't bother to rental car in SF as the parking fee is nonsensely high. Take tram, Uber/taxi or sightseeing bus to see tourist spots but Westin will be your central activities when returning as feels at home.
Avoid room at the lowest level as you will see only adjacent buildings
Comfortable room, reasonable size. Good in-house facilities, shops etc.
Elevator system (card+floor number), Less people at hand (doorman, bell boy etc)
the room was kind of basic but clean with comfort bed e nice view. I had a delux king in the remodeled part of the hotel. Gym is great as well as free wi fi in the lobby. It's a crowded hotel but very quiet once in your room. Restaurants in the hotel next to the gym stays open till 10 pm and serve very good quality food. Location of the hotel is safe and very central. You cannot get anything more central than that. I will definitely stay again. Next to all the shopping areas and a few minutes walk from nice coffee shops.
Great stay and good value for money. Will return next year
The lobby was nicely decorated for Christmas.
Waited 2 hours for our room to be ready even though we had asked for early check in. Called ahead was told our room was ready got there at 2:45 room ready at 5:00.My husband had to go to the airport to pick up company coming to join us. We never got to spend time together in the room until after dinner so basically we slept there. No time for relaxing. Also asked for a room with a view. Didn't happen. My family who also stayed had bad room experiences. One room was way noisey and the other had a bathroom door that didn't close. Pretty bad for a Westin property.
The location and the atmosphere of this wonderful hotel, especially during the holidays.
It took us too long to check out and over an hour to get our car when we were leaving. Not acceptable ---
Perfect location, excellent service from the friendly staff. Large room with fantastic view of Union Square.
The beds could be bigger - more like a standard double than a Queen. The bath didn't drain when taking a shower - housekeeping should be advising maintenance of a problem. Also housekeeping knocked early on our day of check out which I felt was unnecessary - if check out is 12 o'clock they should not be knocking at 8.30am.
General aspect of the hotel and location
I had certain complaints to make the first 24 hrs
Location. Free WiFi when you join the club.
Hallway not always clean. Wellness program not supported by resources.
Perfectly located next to Union Square.
Greatest location for city center
Nowhere to park or unload luggage. We arrived just before Christmas, crazy busy at this time.
The rooms placeand the lobby.
Hotel is really central. Reception staff are incredibly helpful. We stay at the tower building, we had amazing wiew of the city.
Late night room service options are really poor. There is no mini-bar in the room and no alcohol service to room after 2.
location is excellent
old furniture and bathroom
Perfect size room; very comfortable bed, great bathroom facilities, housekeeping etc. amazing view looking over Union Sq. as requested - reception staff very helpful (Louis & Yvonne) Westin Lobby looks amazing @ Xmas..
As a smoker - on the 24th floor - bit of a nuisance having to go out on street where all the homeless would approach !! Would be nice to have private smoking area inside the hotel..
Location was great - right in the heart of Union Square. The view was awesome - nice bay window (23rd floor facing East.) Staff/security did a great job managing the partiers on New Year's Eve. The live camera display behind the front desk was pretty cool.
It was really windy a couple of days before new year's eve and the wind came through the windows with a very loud whistling/howling noise when there were big gusts. Over $100 of refreshments from the minibar was added to our bill even though our room had no minibar. Had to go to front desk (could not do in-room check-out) to have it removed. They said it was a computer glitch that affected many guests. Wi-Fi should be free for a hotel of this class.
Carpeting run down.
Excellent room service food and all employees whom I had contact with were lovely. Lift system was extremely efficient, although often crowded.
Very crowded no central area to relax other than a cafe that was always very busy and not clean. Bags took a long time to get to our room (over 3 hrs).
Location was excellent. Very busy during the Holiday season, but the shopping selection was great.
I like the location, but the property was equally pleasing. The staff were quite helpful and this is notable because we wrrived in the midst of the Holiday frenzy and still received excellent service.
Rooms were a bit smaller than expeced but then this is to be expected with a smaller, historical building like teh Landmark Building.
Location, elevators are fast, staff have the willingness to help, rooms have space.
Rooms are old, entrance keys have issues all the time, need to pay US55 per day for garage, US 14,85 for wifi and breakfast is not included, long waiting lines at front desk!
Poor (no) breakfast restaurant. Just the lobby bar.
Great location. Walking distance to the BART, cable car and bus stops. Close to great shopping and restaurants as well. The staff are really friendly
