Location is excellent. Front Desk staff are friendly and helpful. New linens and carpet are attractive. My room had all the expected comforts -- great AC/Heater, internet access, robe, lots of pillows. Room configuration is odd -- hotel was converted many years ago from apartments. Felt very claustrophobic, until I moved the chairs and desks away from the areas where you need to walk. They should remove some of the excess furniture. |

The beds were the most comfortable beds we have ever slept in at a hotel. The construction taking place inside caused a dusty smell in the hallways and there was a loud noise from the room next door use of the toliet and/or water. |

We absolutely loved everything about it! Staff was wonderful. Beautifully decorated. Very clean. And our bed was the most comfortable bed we have ever slept in! Can't wait to visit again! Just wish the National Fox News was offered on the T.V. selection. |

Overall, excellent hotelstay for an unbeatable price. Very comfortable bedding. My windows opened on the John Hancock skyscraper and afforded breathtaking panorama of Chicago downtown. There was some whirring noise from rooftop air conditioning systems coming from the ancillary lowrise wing of the hotel, however it was not very loud (easily subdued by earplugs) and so didn't interfere with sleeping. Also this problem is only confined, in my view, to floors 6-11th facing the backyard corner. It is interesting that this hotel, along with many other places in the city I've seen, has only what looks like single glazed windows. It seems to me standard tripple-glazed plastic windows would have saved lots in energy costs going forward. For the rest, the location is very convenient and quiet, with but little trafic. |

We prefer a smaller hotel and the location is perfect.We also enjoyed our breakfast both mornings and also a predinner drink at the bar.We also treated our out of town son and his wife for the two nights we also were there.We will return. Hopefully we will be able to "get in":) |

The location of the hotel, just 2 blocks from John Hancock Center and 2 minutes from North Michigan Av. (Water Tower) Internet is not free for guests (most of hotels have internet) and is too expensive (6.95$ per 15 minutes!!!!) Some of the staff is not very friendly but most of them (i.e.Francisco, Denise, Renata and Jorge) are very helpful and very friendly to guests. Also the cleaning is not very accurate, the windows have not been cleaned at least for the last 40 years! and furniture is old and not very well conservated (most of the lamps are broken or about to break) . They are also a bit stingy with shampoo, foaming bath, etc. |

The staff was very friendly and the hotel had great character. My bed mattress was low in the middle. The management removed the Gideon Bibles from all the rooms; that's why I indicate I cannot recommend the Whitehall. |

Excellent location less than 1 block's distance of the Chicago Shopping District (Miricale Mile?) My floor was being remodeled during my stay so there was plastic sheeting on the hallway floors. Hopefully that'll be completed before my next stay there. |

The location is excellent - right down town with plenty of shopping and restaurants in close walking proximity. The staff were extremely helpful with everything and the consierge was a excellent in providing assistance with directions to places and making suggestions of where to visit. Definately would book at the Whitehall again! |

The hotel is very well located, you can go everywhere walking. Room is plenty of space, comfortable bed. Staff is very helpfull. Overall is a very good hotel. Internet should be free to access and the water on shower didn`t get that hot so it would be problem during the winter. |
