Very comfortable bed
No coffee in room
not enough of me to enjoy everything
Pretty staff. Helpful staff. Lovely staff.
Not enough time there
The service and room
It doesnt have valet parking
Great location. Adequate facility for the $. Nice desk staff.
Dated and lifeless. Getting by on past faded glory days. Rates reflect this approach so it is a fair deal.
Really comfortable bed, friendly staff and great location.
They charged us for a bottle of wine we didn't drink and it took a long time to convince them of that and even more to fix it. Wifi is not free. The apartment was EXTREMELY COLD, they said they'd send someone who never came, we called several times and they never answered.
the location is perfect. the hotel is so quiet. beds are comfortable, and service was excellent.
Great location and value with excellent staff
The location was close to everything we wanted to do
The first night we were there the heat was not working. Our room temperature was 58 on a cold winter night. There was no hot water at that time. No view on the 6th floor and elevators located to close to the room.
Room size, bed
No stuffed chair, only small couchr
The location is great for walking chicago. We were always greeted nicely.
Our request for a king bed was not met. When questioned, we were asked if we booked through a 3rd party and then told that they were doing updates and no king rooms were available
A bunch of stuff is in walking distance
Parking can get very expensive
The price and the location.
The staff were unwilling to to help at all from the reception to the valet parking guys. By the way I ordered some towels and the guy who parked my car got me the towels. The parking price was less than the room's price little bit it was 57$
Room was comfortable Wi-fi was acceptable Staff was friendly Check-in was quick Great location
The staff was friendly and the facility was beautiful.
Everything was great.
Great staff and location was perfect. I will likely be back.
The room had only one refrigerator. This was a fully stocked refrigerator (filled with alcohol and a few sodas. I was told if I touched anything or took it out for longer than 15 seconds that the room would be charged). The woman at the desk said if I wanted a regular mini-fridge, I would be charged for them to bring it to the hotel room. The whole weekend I drank warm water and buying water and ice from the local market. Also, the phones in the room were all static so every time I had to call the office (necessary if you wanted ice because you can't go get it yourself), I could barely hear the person talking to me. The pillow and sheet had two rips in them. Finally, the TV was a pain and the remote was not working.
The rooms were very dark. Poor lighting
Hotel staff is very friendly and will happily help you find destinations if you're not from Chicago. Hotel itself is very clean with comfortable rooms. Just a hop, skip and a jump from Chicago's Magnificent Mile. Overall I recommend the Whitehall to anyone.
Be aware that valet parking at the Whitehall is $57 per night. Me and my friend took the South Shore train into Chicago and used public transportation.
The lighting was so dim that it was difficult to see anything--certainly needs to be addressed. At times we had to use cell phone flashlights to see specifi colors of clothing
Extremely comfortable, good looking, helpful, accommodating and friendly staff, and great location. All you could ever ask for in a hotel. I've been travelling to and from chicago for nearly 10 years and this is my second favourite hotel, however, I paid ten times the amount for the top. Definitely recommend this hotel.
The free wifi was limited for guests. It didn't effect me this time but it could in the future.
but boy were we surprised. It was a great little room with everything we needed at an incredible price. We just loved it.
The weather below zero.
I loved that the hotel was so close to all the shopping and a short bus ride away from all the attractions of Chicago. It was by far the most comfortable bed I've stayed in at a hotel, and the rate that we stayed for was a steal. The staff was helpful and friendly. The room was always well cleaned. Next time I visit Chicago, I'll definitely consider staying here again!
The walls are kind of thin at this hotel, so in the morning when the maid would knock on a door for housecleaning that was 4 rooms away from us, we could hear it. So don't try to sleep in (even though you shouldn't when there's so much to see in Chicago anyway!) because the noise that starts up around 9am won't allow you to sleep in. Another thing that bothered my boyfriend and I was that sometimes it felt like the heater of the room wasn't working, so our room would be a constant 60 degrees. Before you settle down into the room make sure that the heating/cooling system is working properly!
expensive parking and lack of facilities
