Parking was expensive
I liked how it was near everything.. stores..restaurants.. anything u need was in walking distance.
no coffee maker in room
pretty, comfortable and very friendly staff.
Not all front desk staff were knowledgable or helpful. Air con in room wasn't efficient (lucky for me it wasn't hot outside). Breakfast expensive and unremarkable.
The bar was very atmospheric. The bell-hops were efficient.
It was just "fine". When you add another $100+ in city taxes, it gets expensive for just a few days. I lived in Chicago all my life, which is a friendly city, but felt the staff at the desk was not overly friendly, or had a touch of an attitude. The consierge was very nice though.
Most comfortable bed I think I've ever slept in! This is across the street from the 4 Seasons/Bloomingdales, great location. My room was decorated in beiges and browns, and was dark and a bit sad looking. Needs updating, which they are doing to the outside, and hopefully the inside will be brought up to speed.
The staff were remarkably friendly and accommodating. The location -- between Michigan Ave and Rush Street -- could hardly be better.
Location of this hotel is awesome. The staff is very friendly and very helpful .
The hotel is an older building that refurbished their rooms approximately 2 years ago. The location is fantastic (just off Michigan Avenue) and the staff is helpful and quick to respond to all requests.
Checked in very early but room not ready... no problem; was not expecting it to be ...came back in late evening and we were put in Presidential Suite... great surprise...
Room bathroom wasn't as luxurious as I had hoped but it was fine.
When I checked in the front desk was very helpful and made it very easy to get in and get to my room. Everyone was very helpful from the concierge, to the bell boys, to the bartenders. The location was wonderful, right in the heart of the Magnificent Mile and easy walking distance to pretty much everything.
We got charged twice for the room since we used 2 different cards. We wanted one card for incidentals, and the other for the room. Both cards were charged for the room. But one got credited back after a days.
Debbie at the front desk was fabulous!!! So accommodating and very nice!
No real bad experience, but it would have been nice to have a view or any kind.
Room was very quiet except for the 6:30 am trash pick up. My daughter and I liked our room, but next time I would request one on a higher floor and with a view.
The closet door was hanging from the top rail and had to be fixed. The ceiling paint above the shower head was heavily chipped/chipping. Some signs of water damage from the shower to the adjacent wood frame above the toilet. Curtains did not open or close properly. You could not open the window, even a little bit. If you have breathing issues, I believe you'll find the recycled air low in oxygen.
The staff was very nice, down to earth. The hotel common areas are nicely decorated and kept clean. The initial impression upon entering the hotel is favorable, you feel like you've entered into a special place. Two nice restaurants occupy the rest of the first floor. Although the elevators only fit three adults, maybe four that are familiar with each other, they have a charm that speaks of an age gone by. The bedrooms are nicely decorated, the bedding was fresh, the bed was quite comforable.
When taking a shower, the drainage was not very good as water kept accumulating on the bottom of the bath.
The room was very cosy and it was very safe for us to spend our first time in the USA.
Free WiFi is a bit slow.
The bed was VERY comfortable and the staff was accommodating. Enjoyed the stay overall.
Good location in Gold Coast neighborhood: within walking distance of the Magnificient Mile, and easy bus/metro access to the more historical downtown (Art Institute, etc.) and other parts of the city.
Perfect location! Unfailing courtesy of staff---ALL staff Comfortable rooms
I forgot my DND on the door and nobody called/left a message to check if anyone was inside. A later note under the door didn't state that housekeeping was a 24hrs service so, didn't get service that I needed. Internet in the business center has to be paid.
Location - comfort of room/bed - most staff were friendly and helpful. Mr J Cranford (concierge) made the most of my time and stay superb, he took me everywhere I wanted to go virtually. His knowledge and enthusiasm put me in the right track - a gem.
The bed wasn't very comfortable, very hard.
Loved the atmosphere and the location! Very convenient to Mag Mile, wonderful dining options, and plenty of activities.
No pool or hot tub.
The staff was always willing to help and pleasant to be around.
free wifi is awfully slow (only 1Mbit) and didn't work two days, expensive breakfast doesn't include good quality espresso-coffee
great bed, very quiet
Breakfast was very slow in coming and was cold when it finally arrived
Comfort of bed, close to meeting location
very cold room a/c kept going to 65 no matter what we did - Wifi was pretty poor
location and beds, concierge was awesome
Not a single bad experience.
The friendly and professional service from the front desk, room service, concierge, and wait staff at the Italian restaurant on the first floor was superb.
