Score from 2432 reviews Good
Bath tub was corroded on edges and elevators looked a hundred years old. Poor value
Very helpful desk staff, bellmen, doormen, waiters. Great location.
Very hard beds, and I like hard beds. Ready for a renovation - phones didn't work on all buttons, safe was broken, minibar was locked, lighting was inadequate.
The location and the friendlyness of the staff
Rather small oin commodity
Excellent service - great location - very comfortable bed -
No view - carpeted - aged - needs a little refreshing
Hotel is well located on the magnificent mile. The room is large and clean. We are very satisfied with it.
About three blocks away from the train station. No breakfast included.
Location Clean Amenities
Loud Airco Relatively hard bed
The hotel is obviously an older hotel with character and is conveniently located near the Magnificant Mile.
There were only two small elevators for the entire hotel. The air conditioning wasn't working in our room and there was a large crack/hole in the bathroom floor tile. The room was incredibly small for the cost. No ice on the floors-they have to bring it to you, which they never did.
We had a very good rate because of the day we stayed and they upgraded us for free
No fridge or coffeemaker in the room
Everything is always perfect. Never have a worry when staying at The Whitehall Hotel. Avoid the Chain hotels and stay at a True Boutique Hotel!
Nothing!!! Everything is always exceptional. Love the true Boutique Hotel experience.
The bedding is excellent. The rooms are well appointed and comfortable. The bath is well stocked and nicely done.
The hallway carpet on the 10th floor was a bit stained.
Awesome, friendly staff, great location, decor, large room, unbelievably comfortable bed, in room fridge,
Having to leave! This was luxury
Suite not good value for money
The hotel's location couldn't be better, half a block away from Michigan Avenue, you are in the heart of the city. The rooms are nice and comfortable.
We dropped something and had to look for it under the bed and realized it wasn't as clean as we would have liked... Plus our room faced the building next door (no view...). They charge you $75 usd a night as a safety deposit.
Location is unbeatable - 1 block away from the millenium mile. Big, comfy room and bed, nice staff
can't think of anything
Everything, staff at front desk exceptional
Not a thing
Very comfortable. Front desk and lobby folks were very pleasant and helpful. The concierge -Rhonda- was very helpful and nice to deal with. She went out of her way to make recommendations so we could plan our days & get the most of our stay in Chicago. You are lucky to have her on your staff.
Location Heritage feel
Slow internet Room too cold
location, location, location
no coffeepot in room
The staff were wonderful!!! The bed was so comfortable and we slept well. The free Wi Fi was sufficient for what we needed it for. The location was great!!
Walking distance to everything
That they put more pending charges in my credit card. Than what was promised
Would like free wifi, and free continental breakfast.
The room is big and the location is excellent
The hotel is a little old but nice
Location was great and most of the staff were pretty good. Beds were fresh and clean.
The bar fridge, we always have our own beverages and sometimes food and need for the use of some fridge space which was completely ridiculous. Not only did they try charging us for everything I had to move to fit in a couple of things but the fridge was continually locking. We had to call every day, sometimes 2 or 3 times to have it unlocked and this took over an hour on one occasion even after I had gone down to the desk after calling. The washroom was small with the toilet paper dispenser resting against us when on the toilet, that was odd. Tub had mildew around the caulking. There was no ice accessible only if we went to the bar to ask for some, it didn't always come when we called for it and I don't really want to pay for someone to bring me ice when I can get it myself. Not a very welcoming lobby with the staff tucked in behind booths and there only being two.
Staff was informative and helpful. The woman at the check in counter was especially helpful and friendly both on our arrival and our checkout. Bed was comfortable and the bathroom was nicely updated. Did not have time to explore the rest of the hotel but would definitely return.
