A block a way from the water tower great location and shopping experience
I had an excellent stay at the Whitehall. Service was at its best and the comfort in rooms was first-class. Let's not forget the great location.
The location is awesome everything you want and need right around the corner
Lack of hot bath and sink water. Lack of coffee-maker in room.
Location brilliant, staff brilliant, hotel clean and modern
Got given room right opposite the elevator noisy, plus street very noisy.
Ridiculously close to everywhere we wanted to go, older hotel so room are exceptionally quiet (well-constructed for sound-proofing).
Location of this hotel is very good. Very close the Michigan Ave and other main stores in the location. I like the staff and their service. I like the valet parking service. They offered very good service.
The carpet was not really clean on floor number 10. I think they need to replace it with new one. In general, the valet parking provided a good service but in one day they took more than 30 minutes to bring the car to the front of the hotel.
- Front Desk (Pam - MAP & her colleague & supervisor) - Pullmen (all staff especially ALex & Emir) - Hospitality. - Room service. - Chinese Restaurant. - Coffee staff. - Location is very good.
- Thanksgiving Restaurant Supervisor "Italian Restaurant" 28-11-2014, he was so rude and doesn't know anything about hospitality.
Great place, few steps to everything in Chicago downtown.
$57 valet parking fee
The location is great and the rooms are very comfortable. It is possible to go for most of the cool places from Chicago by foot and there are a lot of great shops and restaurants near the hotel.
They don't offer free parking for customers. For parking inside the hotel you need to pay $50+ per day. In front of the hotel there was a parking lot that charges $45 per day, which it is still very expensive.
It was clean, cozy and the bed was outstanding the room and bathroom were clean loved my stay .
Getting billed $75 bucks for any incidental that never occurred on my credit card after i received my bill that takes 3 to 5 business days to go back on my card.
Just about everything
Nothing in particular
- Friendly and helpful staff always willing to assist when they can. - Spacious and comfortable room with good amenities. - Excellent location- walking distant to all main attractions. - Would 100% recommend! One of the best stays I've hard in a hotel.
The location was perfect for our trip to Chicago. It was near the Magnificent Mile with all it's shopping and restaurants. Bizarre [yes, that's really her name] was our check in staff member and she was amazing. We would highly recommend this hotel. A great stay in a great city.
I did not like that the hotel did not provide any form of personal care for their guest. ex; Shower gels, hair conditioner, etc, When you enter the room, the lights and the switches to the room was very inconvient etc. Will not recommend anyone to this hotel.
You can't beat the price of the hotel for the location
I extended my stay for an extra night and they charged my card aother incidental holding charge which makes no sense
Location ,large room ,clean Helpful staff , nice bed
Slam doors wake u up , expinseve parking rates No cafe facilty in room Breakfast should be includ in da price
Love this hotel ... Seems small in a big building ... Service is great and one may walk to Rush Street, the Gold Coast or many wonderful shops and restaurants ... great for a romantic stay or a business trip in the city ...
.Chicago cold weather ... but it added to the fun and frolic ..
Staff attention and promptness in response to our requests.
When we arrived, dirty towels and robes were in the closet on the floor. Windows were open with an outside temp of 10F so it was freezing. Bed felt over used and old with a u-shape wich made it a bit uncomfortable. Safe was blocked and had to call to reset it
The location was great. One of the staff, Bezare (not sure about the spelling), was extremely nice and helpful.
Other than Bezare (not sure about spelling), other staff members were not so professional. In particular, Felicia at front desk was not helpful. Also, waiters at the restaurant also confused orders all the time. The breakfast was mediocre and overpriced. I ended up trying it for 3 or 4 days just because it was cold outside.
The management and staff from top to bottom were considerate, helpful and eager to please. The location doesn't get any better.
The Whitehall is old and getting older quickly. The rooms are small and the bathrooms smaller, no counter space for even minor toiletries, the beds, even with the additional layer of foam are quite saggy and the linens have seen better days. Given all that, would I stay there again? YES, location's the thing and you won't find better mgmt/staff anywhere.
Great location in the heart of the magnificent mile. Room was comfortable and the staff were extremely helpful.
Had to call maintenance to fix the heater. Hotel is a bit dated and could stand to use a little modernization (eg, as a business traveler, I had no outlet to plug in my laptop at the desk)
We especially like the value for the comfort and location
We had no heat for 12 hours. We were moved to another room no adjustment was made
The beds were awesome as well as the amenities in the bathroom. Also the use of the Cotton robe was very much appreciated as the weather was freezing outside and it was comfortable to have. These are usually provided only at 4-5 star hotels at which we have stayed before in other countries and it was a very nice touch.
The heating could have been much better as it was 16-17 degrees outside and inspite of turning up the thermostat to about 75 degrees the room felt cold and the windows were drafty and cold air from the outside seemed to be leaking in.The staff was quite friendly and eager to help and assist.
