I usually stay at this hotel on my visits to NYC but this time I encounter several problems. First night smoky room and that was settled, the next night left early in the morning came back late afternoon went to room and all my things had been removed but key still worked... Called down and no one could tell me what happen... I then proceeded down in a panic and found that they had put me in another room but I was never informed. In that room the ac was not working. They then lied to booking .com and said I was given some ammenities...never received.

Great location. Good service. Thermostat, phone and tv not working properly. We told multiple people at the front desk but none of those issues were addressed during our stay. Had to use our cell to call hotel while in the hotel... Room was cold at night because the weather striping on the french doors/window needed to be replaced. At least we were able to have maintenance put some duck tape in order to cover the gaps ( not kidding) . Our room was near the pool which was being worked on from mid- morning on- in itself not a problem but it also happened to be next to a conference/business suite in which people talked loudly from early in the morning- we were in the city for a leisure week-end and were looking to sleep in. If you book at Thomson les, make sure they do not give you room 301, or the punishment room as I like to call it ( wink...). Hope they fix those problems.

The staff was amazing, friendly, and very accommodating. The in-house restaurant, Blue Ribbon Sushi, was absolutely and almost surprisingly delicious, and the ambience made the experience all the better. The rooms and bathrooms are modern and stylish, comfortable and spacious. The location in the LES of Manhattan is perfect, you can't ask for more! Service was very slow at Blue Ribbon Sushi, and the waitress we had hardly ever came back to our table. She was the only one in our entire experience at Thompson LES who acted pretentious toward us. Everything else was perfect!

Tv channels Clean Good bed / bedding No free wifi in the rooms. Breakfast not included in price. Not easy to operate the lifts - lighting very poor in lifts so not easy to select correct button. Booked through Booking.com but hotel charged different rate / taxes.

I especially enjoyed the relaxed lounge atmosphere and the design which gave the place a very warm and relaxed atmosphere. The staff was very professional and helpful. I simply don't understand why you have to pay for WiFi when it is not exactly a sheep hotel.

Clean rooms, rain shower head, no bath/shower (no one likes a bath/shower), location was amazing for a really interesting side of nyc, hotel (and booking.com) were flexible with me chopping off a few days at the end of the stay due to changes in plans. The rooms were a bit small, 'queen' bed was a bit small (i'm 6'2" and my feet were hanging off the end).

Staff - extremely helpful and pleasant any time day or night. Style of the place. Situation. Views. Mattress very compfortable. Excellent sized bed. Charging for WiFi in room? Why? Come on guys! - Feels like such a rip off it will make me think twice about coming back. Seriously advise you to stop it. Towels a bit small. Pillows a bit soft.

Great location if you aren't really looking for tourist attractions. I've stayed here before and will probably do so again. They feel some need to charge you for Internet connection.

Good location in the heart of Manhattan's Lower East Side. Good accommodations. Hotel has a nice modern look to it. Competent staff. Not the least expensive but rooms are spacious enough. Clean. Over all a good, reliable, modern spot to stay at for a week-end or a week or more. Four stars for sure. Last time I rented a room there it smelled like tobacco. Once before, in another room, tv did not function- maintenance fixed it immediately. Another time a light was out, again, maintenance fixed it right away. One time, I called to have the sauna turned on, showed up downstairs half hour later to an ice cold sauna- staff had forgotten to turn it on. luckily the Russian Bath are few blocks away. Some rooms which are above the outdoor lounge in the summer can get residual noise until late at night- problem if you need a good night sleep but the hotel is strategically placed in prime Lower East Side. As such, I expect the ambience to be somewhat lively. It did not bother me but some might find it annoying, mind you the noise till late is only from thursday night till saturday night- week-end party time.

The accomodation was not ready on arrival, despite very late arrival. However,we were upgraded to the Penthouse for one night. The downside was not being able to properly unpack our luggage for the full 7 night stay. The Penthouse had a flood of water coming from the ceiling which required to be opened up the next morning.Fortunately we were moved pretty quickly. The staff were terrific and this was our second stay at the Thompson les. We hope to return next year. Construction work going on next door, but not your fault.

Great room. Staff couldn't find reservation, so she gave my husband his credit card back! Then, she called a manager and finally found it. Not a great first impression! All the talk on your in room Tv about the passionate help wasn't so! Front desk staff needs customer service training, should read Ritz Credo! See above

The location was great for us & room was comfortable. All the guys that parked our car and brought our luggage up and down for us were awesome, nice guys. I understand the design vibe of opaque glass into room, but in a double room a bit more privacy would be nice. The toilet room was an echo chamber, my daughter & I were woken up one morning by my husband's "sounds".

Brilliant location: just across from the F Train at 2nd Av. Entire LES in very close walking distance. Broadway, <10 minutes walk away. Room fairly quiet considering. Decent view - if you like that kind of thing. Helpful door staff. Cleaning staff were superb. Ambivalent hotel staff - sometimes would say hello, other times ignored. Had a letter delivered to the room that was for another customer. Rooms were smaller than anticipated = nearly "Tokyo"-sized. Requested a baby cot bed but this wasn't ready with the room. Called room service, received a cot bed but no sheet or pillow. C'mon guys, this is pretty basic service! Mood lighting okay if you like Abercrombie & Fitch darkness. Confusing buttons on elevator. Thompson LES website originally promised Kiehl's products in the bathroom - switched to REN. Only one bathrobe supplied for two people. Air conditioning noisy switching on/off and blows directly on sleeping area. Room looked a bit rough around the edges and could use better maintenance. Hysterically poor Thompson TV channel: like some bad cable show from the 1980s. Expensive Wi-Fi = $15. C'mon guys wake up, it's 2012! And the worst...crazy rip-off $8 (hello!?) bottles of water left next to beds - made to look as complimentary but not clearly labelled as being chargeable. Scandalous. Expected more value for the price - experienced better all round value and luxury in Hong Kong, Paris, Miami, etc. Overall, felt more likely to get mugged for my cash in my room than outside on the street.

Nice hotel quite near Soho with cool views of Manhattan from both our room and the bar on 7th floor. Only annoying thing about the hotel is that they charge you extra for Internet access. It should of course be included in the room price.

The staff was really professional and friendly, the view was really great (I was on the 12th floor with view on the city) and the room both quiet and cleaned really well everyday. I didn't like to pay an extra 15$ for the wifi in the room, and every day.... (Sic).

I appreciated the friendly and helpful members of staff. The Thompson Les Hotel was incredibly noisy. They have a club night on Wednesdays, so customers have no option but to endure thumping music till 02:30. I was assured by someone at reception that they would urge the DJ to turn the music. I can only guess that such an exchange did not take place, as the music remained at a tortuous decibel, till the club closed.
