We liked the design of the hotel very much. The swimming pool was the reason for us choosing the hotel as we were travelling with young kids. The staff was very nice and helpful. Not much on the minus side; but only one computer for visitors at the front desk. Would have been nice with more computers around and why not free internet at the hotel? The reception is small and has not many places to sit. We would have liked better open spaces with E.G. tv and a computer just above the reception to make that place more alive. Now it was mostly empty. We were four persons in our room with jetlag problems and would have appreciated a place to go watch tv or just to catch up with news on internet when some of us were sleeping and some of us were awake in the middle of the night, not to disturb the sleeping ones.

Great value and nice staff. Love the shower/ bathroom. Fan of the Kiehls products too. Upon our checkin I learned the studio king suite does not have s tub. This should be mentioned on the room description since I take a bath everyday and choose rooms based on the tub preference. Very dissaointed in that aspect. The hotel restaraunt was closed during our stay which is inconvenient. Also should offer free coffee in the rooms like other hotels do. Also free treats would be nice.

Kudos to the Staff ! All very attentive, pleasant and accomodating. The hotel's design of the public and private areas provides for a very sedate hideaway after a busy day in the city. Then on to a night in the 7th floor lounge. My room was missed for a turn down on my last night, but was professionally rectified by the manager on duty. Thank you.

Great room. Great design. Excellent location. Charing $15/day for internet access for a $450 room is lame. Rooms on the 7th floor can be a bit loud due to the bar on that floor. 4450

Staff was extremely helpful, polite, and actively took care of my requests. Clean, clean, clean. Large double double room. Restaurant is closed for renovation. A buffet of sorts is offered in the lounge on the seventh floor, but many things are priced separately. I think coffee ought to be complementary, particularly with the restaurant closed.

The hotel was small and manageable. We checked in easily without hassle. The room was great, small but nicely appointed. It's in a great area, lots of delicious restaurants, shops and there's a subway station right across the street. Overall a great experience would stay again.

Room was great- large for new york and well-designed. Subway and bus right across the street. Staff was very sweet and eager to please although not always effective Downsides - no coffee maker, and the late Saturday night party crowd was pretty noisy about 4 am

I like the decor and the location. I try to stay in the lower east side or meatpacking areas. This was my 4th or fifth time there and I have been solo and with family. Didn't know the lounge was closed for renovations

Staff was noticeably friendlier then at other hotels in nyc we have experienced. On Monday morning I got back, my hands full, from picking up coffees next door, when the asian gentlemen jumped out from behind the reception and held the elevator door open and inserted the key and pressed my floor button. Well done. In addition, the king junior suite was spacious, especially for the money we paid. We will be back for sure. Thank you.

The Thompson is an ultra modern hotel that manages to combine this modern look with great comfort. Our room had a balcony with a fantastic view of the city. The staff was very helpful and gracious. I would recommend this hotel highly to anyone, whether on vacation or business. There really was nothing to complain about except perhaps that the lighting in the rooms and hallways is so subdued that it is kind of dark.

Very nice hotel located just next to the underground. The sofa bed is a major minus. It's very unconfortable and so hard that you barely can't sleep on it.

Conveniet location-across the street from a subway station, and walking distance to the Village. The staff is very nice. The room is clean and is large. Sleek interior design. The beds are hard and not comfortable. Also no coffee maker in the room. Internet is $15. We went to to the 7th floor to have a breakfast, and had American style breakfast. The only food choice they had was scrambeled egg and bacon. The egg was hard, dry and cold, and the coffee was luke warm. $15 included just that ( egg, bacon and coffe or tea). Terrible breakfast. Holiday Inn/Comfort Suite type cheap hotels do much better than that. We were very surprised. So starting the next morning, we went to the coner deli to get coffeee and breakfast.
