Great location,quiet area,convenient for ferries,restaurants etc.
This place is truly a gem for a San Francisco-region hotel, because FREE PARKING! I think I picked it for that reason above most others. In addition, the service was really wonderful, the room was spacious and beautiful, and the on-site restaurant is excellent (though pricey--it's a nice dinner out kind of place). The location is great if you are going to get out and explore Marin county--it is about an hour's drive north to Point Reyes through absolutely stunning scenery. Close proximity to Muir Woods and Muir Beach as well as other prime Marin Headlands spots. Hotel is a 5-minute walk to ferries, and situated nicely near Main Street in Tiburon; really charming collection of shops and restaurants, many with a waterfront view.
General advice for staying on this side of the bay (though not anything about this hotel in particular): Ferries to San Francisco only run during the day, and service is limited on weekends. Because we wanted to spend daylight hours doing nature things, we ended up having to drive into the city (and pay to park there) if we wanted to do anything there in the evening. If you are driving to the airport, leave at least 1.5 hours before you need to be at the airport--we thought an hour would be sufficient, but traffic was a nightmare! Best yet, don't plan a flight during work hours on a weekday (our first mistake, really).
Beautiful setting Close to restaurants
The drinks in the bar/restaurant were way overpriced
Staff and restaurant
Room was fairly clean, but had a musty smell
Tv had poor reception,no unlimited wi-fi. No breakfast!!
Excellent staff, very good service. Calm area with good restaurants nearby. Romantic and charming hotel Very clean Very comfortable beds Nice outdoor pool heated all year Both ours and our children's favourite US hotel Walking distance to ferries directly to Fishermans Wharf
Friendly staff. Good restaurant/pub on premises. Nice little town
Pillows too soft
We loved the tavern and spent a lot of time in there as it was pretty cold outside and it was a great place to relax and have a drink... Great food too. The bartenders were friendly and fun!
The second night we stayed there was a loud party that continued into the midnight hours and that was quite annoying. We were amazed that the staff let this go on considering how many families were staying there that weekend... Considering the layout, it was hard to avoid the noise no matter where your room was. It was that loud! We're all for people having a good time but the loud party should have been moved to the outside patio outside of the tavern. Clearly the glass sliding doors are not thick enough.
Great location, very clean & comfortable
1. Location Location Location!- Conveniently located near Main street and the restaurants, the ocean, a CVS and a grocery store. 2. Family Night on Monday nights for a 20% discount at the hotel's restaurant. 3. Accommodations were relatively clean and comfortable.
1. HOTEL RESTAURANT- TIBURON TAVERN-- Beware of SLOW service! We gave it a try for 2 nights, and the service was disappointing both times. I don't care if you smile and say sorry, it shouldn't take that long to get food out of the kitchen. Decent food at a moderately expensive price. Management: Staff accordingly! 2. Walls are thin and you can definitely hear BARKING DOGS! Non-pet people BEWARE! It is disruptive and annoying. 3. Room Service-- DONT ORDER DESSERT! We ordered 2: Pot de Creme w/ Oatmeal Raisin Cookies that were completely INEDIBLE. Oatmeal raisin cookies should be chewable and soft, not rock hard and absent of oatmeal. The Dulce de Leche cake was also disappointing. We had better luck eating dessert at the restaurant the night before, maybe they have different cooks who handle room service orders? Either way, beware! 4. No central heating and the heater in the room is outdated and ineffective. 5. They won't change your sheets unless you've stayed there for 3 nights. You HAVE to request a change in sheets.
Loved the jacuzzi, location to Tiburon, nice landscaping
Have been coming here for years. The room we stayed in was noisy(231), rooms need updating. Used to have robes; now don't
Evening drinks just outside the tavern worked well.
Single staff member at breakfast seemed a little stressed.
Close to grocery shop , ferry , restaurants
They were out of crab
No bellman and no service from the restaurant when I requested utensils and plates
Fantastic bedding! So very comfortable! Great value Their free DVD rental library offered a great collection Hotel restaurant (Lodge at Tiburon) was excellent
Large, comfortable room with a great bed. Fire-pits around the property. Good bar and restaurant.
Had to ask for help with bags - bell service not obviously available.
a little noisy on bottom floor
Breakfst at the restaurant was $70 for 3 of us. Everything was burned but still surved it to us. We requested a rollaway bed for my son and they told us to wait 15 min. I asked another 4 times about it within the next 2 hours before they finally brought that to our room.
Short distance to ferry to go over to San francisco
Food and drinks very expensive
Location to Blue and White ferry to San Francisco.
The stone facade of the entrance area masks the ordinary motel rooms lying behind. Very expensive for what you get.
Ambiance. Location. The attention of the elderly gentleman at Breakfast.
In a town full of Restaurants the choice appeared too limited.
Walking distance to marina for dinner.
The location & comfortable beds Service was good.
Restaurant food was average at the best
Walking distance to waterfront, ferry. Restaurant has good food. High quality coffee/teas in room. High ceilings in third floor rooms.
Carpet was stained throughout room. Water rings on tops of all furniture.
