the hotel is starting to show a little wear
location was amazing, very supportive staff
THe price we paid for a king size room, was not worth it... and there was a small rectagular window above the bed and that was it... The room was in a corridor off the main walkway near the stairs Room 251, was the worse room type I've ever rented. It was more like a small motel except the price was for a Hotel instead of a travel lodge
The location, we wanted to go to Tiburon
Rather ugly building but has been refurbished to a high standard. Food was expensive. No breakfast provided which made the accommodation feel rather expensive.
Swimming pool and hot tub.
nothing was bad, would prefer separate toilet and shower
Our view, our room
Very adequate facility for staying in Tiburon.
comfy beds, clean and spacious rooms, centrally located, quiet area!
The property was renovated within the last 3 years and they pay attention to small but stylish details that most other "motels" don't. The location is fantastic, with everything you need within short walking distance.
Could use a lick of paint in places!
Comfortable and clean. Nice veranda (we were on ground floor). Staff very helpful and friendly. Good restaurant.
Overpriced for its facilities, but at least better value than astronomical prices for SF hotels
Quiet and peaceful area - quite romantic setting
Did not like the pillows. Would have liked clean glasses in bathroom each day - better yet, plastic ones that could be used each day and recycled.
Loved the location - was in walking distance to many shops, restaurants, water, etc.
Need better windows for sound insulation.
Property and atmosphere was very nice.
The carpet in the room was dirty and worn. The coffeemaker had old water left in the receptacle. Too noisy outside our room late at night.
We liked that the lodge was close to the charming streets of the town. We liked the free parking and wifi.
Bed and wifi slow
The room had a dank smell that may have been the cleaning fluid, but more likely was mold. The rug had stains on it and the internet was so slow it was useless. The amenities at the hotel were overpriced. I selected this property based on positive reviews on booking.com, but these positive comments were not confirmed by reviews I read elsewhere. Overall, I had a negative experience and cannot recommend this property.
The location and staff
We arrived after 9pm. The desk clerk was nice but gave us no directions to the elevator or our room, which proved quite problematic. We were woken at 6:55 by jackhammers in the adjacent parking lot. A warning the night before would have been nice. Breakfast was served until 10, but at 9:50 the manager rudely told us he was reluctant to seat us, siting something about redecorating. He did not volunteer the directions to the cafe across the street. Just not a nice staff. We will not be back tho we come to Marin often.
The lodge is pretty if somewhat odd looking for Tiburon. It looks like it belongs in Lake Tahoe. Our room was quite large, nicely decorated, clean and bright. Third floor, comfortable king bed, nice little balcony, very nice bathroom. The lobby is lovely and the outdoor spaces are large with lots of seating and very welcoming, where you could meet family or guests.
Great location,quiet area,convenient for ferries,restaurants etc.
General advice for staying on this side of the bay (though not anything about this hotel in particular): Ferries to San Francisco only run during the day, and service is limited on weekends. Because we wanted to spend daylight hours doing nature things, we ended up having to drive into the city (and pay to park there) if we wanted to do anything there in the evening. If you are driving to the airport, leave at least 1.5 hours before you need to be at the airport--we thought an hour would be sufficient, but traffic was a nightmare! Best yet, don't plan a flight during work hours on a weekday (our first mistake, really).
This place is truly a gem for a San Francisco-region hotel, because FREE PARKING! I think I picked it for that reason above most others. In addition, the service was really wonderful, the room was spacious and beautiful, and the on-site restaurant is excellent (though pricey--it's a nice dinner out kind of place). The location is great if you are going to get out and explore Marin county--it is about an hour's drive north to Point Reyes through absolutely stunning scenery. Close proximity to Muir Woods and Muir Beach as well as other prime Marin Headlands spots. Hotel is a 5-minute walk to ferries, and situated nicely near Main Street in Tiburon; really charming collection of shops and restaurants, many with a waterfront view.
The drinks in the bar/restaurant were way overpriced
Beautiful setting Close to restaurants
Staff and restaurant
Tv had poor reception,no unlimited wi-fi. No breakfast!!
Room was fairly clean, but had a musty smell
Excellent staff, very good service. Calm area with good restaurants nearby. Romantic and charming hotel Very clean Very comfortable beds Nice outdoor pool heated all year Both ours and our children's favourite US hotel Walking distance to ferries directly to Fishermans Wharf
Pillows too soft
Friendly staff. Good restaurant/pub on premises. Nice little town
The second night we stayed there was a loud party that continued into the midnight hours and that was quite annoying. We were amazed that the staff let this go on considering how many families were staying there that weekend... Considering the layout, it was hard to avoid the noise no matter where your room was. It was that loud! We're all for people having a good time but the loud party should have been moved to the outside patio outside of the tavern. Clearly the glass sliding doors are not thick enough.
We loved the tavern and spent a lot of time in there as it was pretty cold outside and it was a great place to relax and have a drink... Great food too. The bartenders were friendly and fun!
Great location, very clean & comfortable
