Topaz Motel  

Location was wonderful. You could see the ocean from all points of view. Will definitely stay here again. Very friendly and helpful staff.

The staff, the new owners, the antique cars, the beach, the people that stay here.

The girl at the front desk (Ellen) was very pleasent and helpful. She is the reason the experience was good.

I travel a lot and this was basiclly a run down motel in which the bathroom smelt like a sour rag. I was only there one night so... I came back from a night out to find my door key didn't work. After walking back to the desk 3 different times (they didn't answer the first time) and retreiving the new card keys twice that never worked, the manager finally came to my room and had to unlock the door with a real key. &Quot;Sorry I'll look at it in the morning" he says. No worries I won't be back there anytime in the future.

The motel was old, but it was clean, and the staff was friendly.

On the high side, but I guess bike week caused that.

Liked location. Across from Atlanta ocean. Did not like older facility. Floors and carpets felt dirty. Tooth paste on bathroom vanity when we arrived

Great location, beautiful view of ocean.

The only saving grace was the restaurant. The food and wait staff was excellant.

Everything! The room was not clean. There was dirt stains all around the room. If you moved anythng there was dirt. The bathroom sink filled up every time. You had to hold the flush handle on the toilet to have it go down. The whole place needed a lot of help! The smoke alarm was falling off the wall! The site is wonderful, but I would never stay there again. I can't believe aaa recommends this place. The pictures on the web site do not tell the truth about the place!!!

Loved that we were right on the beach. Staff was friendly.

The king bed was amazingly comfortable. The view from our 2nd floor room was sooooo pretty. Just high enough over A1A to have a beautiful ocean view. Also, the onsite restaurant, "Blue", served a tasty lunch and dinner. My room had a kitchen so we biked from there down to the Flagler Beach Farmers Market (1-2 miles north?) and picked up some fresh shrimp and veggies, then made dinner in our room. WOW! Best shrimp I've ever had (and I've had alot of shrimp!).

Wish the pool had been heated...

It was clean, comfortable, safe with an ocean view. Not fancy, but provided comforts that you would expect. Microwave and small refrige in room. Sufficient hot water.

No Internet unless you left the building to sit in the lobby or by the pool. The weather was inclement so, no go.

The Room was very old and the room was not Clean.

There was mold around the refrigerator and dental floss stuck on the bathroom wall. Toaster didn't work. Ants crawling all over kitchen counter. Staff was supposed to come and spray but never came. There were many other things that were wrong, but these were the highlights. Also could not get Internet. Staff said this would be fixed as well, but wasn't.

My husband and I attempted to stay at the Topaz for our Birthday weekend.. We booked a Queen Bed "suite".. Upon arrival, we were put in a room in the back alley of the motel.. To say the least the room left a lot to be desired.. It didn't have a queen bed for starters, and hardly any windows.. Immediately I brought it to the attention of the front desk personal that the room was not what we had booked and I was unhappy.. They attepmted to give us another room with a king size bed. Upon entering that room, there were visable stains all over the bed. I was so disgusted at this point I just wanted my money back and to find another hotel. But again the front desk tried to give us yet another room.. This room was ocean view, again with a small bed and NO working air. At this point I called booking.com and they were able to get us a full refund, and we were able to find a nice clean hotel..

We had a nice end room with a window & balcony that had great views of the ocean & Flagler Beach Pier.

Barbara at the front desk was not very accomodating or customer friendly.

Home town feeling and the location on the ocean. Staff very courteous. Restaurant on site and just an all around nice place to stay.

We have stayed at the Topaz for over 16 years. I highly recommend this hotel.

Sat. night the Blue resturant had a dinner party and was very busy, patrons from the resturant parked in motel parking lot. Hard to fine parking for the registered guest at the motel.

When we got there they did not have our reservation. Had to call bookit to have them 're-fax our reservation. (Bookit was great) we drove around the building and it was full of trash with old bikes pile in top of each other. The hotels picture are deceiving. Once in the room there was no HOT water. Will not stay there again.

Right on the beach & great restaurant. Insist on an upstairs room to get a balcony view of the beach over the coastal highway.

It's a bit overpriced for a dumpy motel.

The maid service could be better. She needs to clean better and empty the coffeemaker and clean it up.

The check-in and rate was great for the hotel location. The blue restaurant was amazing for its seafood, which had a better selection than other places we looked at. We would stay there again if we travel to flaglers beach area.

It would be great to have a shower outside to remove sand after going to the beach. It was very inconvient to track sand into our room to wash off or before going to the pool. Exposed wireing next to the bed light.

Great location. Lots of guests up late but once inside our room we couldn't hear them. A/C worked great I'm heat and humidity.
