the quality of the reception
right on route 1, but quiet enough
great deal, cute place.
Location (Alexandria is only 20min from downtown DC; metro is 7min from the hotel); price; free parking; free wifi; very nice staff
the room was clean but it had a very weird smell during our stay...
I was originally nervous about booking a motel, really bad history with motels. This place was amazing! Stayed for a few nights during MCM weekend and it was perfect. Two blocks from the Potomac which has a multi use trail that takes you right into D.C. 1 block from a Great grociery and restaurant. There is a keurig in the room that uses k cups so you can enjoy your favorite coffee. I will be coming back for sure!
My room was cute and cozy! It was great having a microwave and fridge in my room. I had plenty of space to spread out. The bed was very comfortable. The tv had numerous channels to select from. The motel is about 1/2 a mile from the metro - a pleasant walk. I felt very safe at the motel and on the walk to and from the metro.
It is a "Pepsi" motel. I like "Coke".
Location, cleanliness, Keurig machine, staff attitude & flexibility & once again location....on top of GW Pkwy, 495, rt 1, 395 it worked for me.
Although there is no breakfast, one can go to one of the two supermarkets that are close to this place and buying some things to prepare light breakfasts during the lodging. Microwaves, fridge and coffee machines available in the rooms are very useful and helpful. It's far away from the downtown but the closest metro station (Braddock Rd) is very near. The guys at the desktop are very friendly
Room was clean, it has a microwave and a small fridge. Bathroom was clean too.
Neighborhood didn't seem very safe at night. You need to walk a couple of blocks to get to King St, which is where all the restaurants are. As for the toiletries, they give you soap but not shampoo and conditioner.
It is definitely a good use of money. The location is excellent, cannot be more convenient as well as quiet. The front desk people are very nice. Room is clean and has a small ref. and coffee machine in room.
I like the location and the personalized touch by the hotel staff.
Close to Metro into DC
Clean Corner room was spacious Desk Service was outstanding. Friendly, helpful suggestions Location: 10 minute walk from Braddock Metro station. 15 minute walk from Old Town shops and restaurants. One block from Harris Teeter (like Whole Foods) market and 2 blocks from Trader Joes market. One metro stop south of Ronald Reagan (DCA) airport. Refrigerator Microwave, Coffee/Tea
Compact bathroom. Does have good lighting and updated though. Exterior slightly run down. Slow Internet.
Friendly people, lovely town, easy access to DC
Slightly long walk to King St (12 mins), but that was nothing
A short walk from the metro. 2 blocks to Trader Joes and the bike share kiosk. Convenient to train into DC while avoiding high DC hotel prices.
the TV was in pretty rough shape, but other features in the room were new and updated.
Ten minutes' walk from metro. Exceedingly helpful member of staff
The location was convenient to the airport, one stop away. Had to walk about a 300 yards to the motel. If you don't like walking with luggage, this place is not for you. The . Staff was nice and helpful. The motel itself is dated but clean. Getting to D.C. not a problem. A Trader Joe's is three short blocks away and another jmarket one block away with hot food and a bakery.
Place is dated and no HDTV but they have direct tv. No place to store valuables and the door locks were old. So I didn't leave anything valuable behind.
Location and cleanliness.
TV and phone did not work. No decaf coffee.
We loved the proximity to old city Alexandria. Front desk was polite and helpful.
Room was dirty and smelled like it needed a deep cleaning. My wife left with a series of bug bites on her ankles the following morning that had not been there the night we went to sleep.
i liked the location of the hotel, on the main street and close to all amenities, and in a safe area. The hotel staff is also very helpful. My room was very clean, and although a bit old in term of furnitures, everything was very functional. All in all I would recommend this hotel. If you have a to make a stop for a short stay, it's a good quality-price hotel.
the furnitures of the room are a bit dated so I guess it could be renewed at some point
The television was fairly easy to operate. The pillows were fairly comfortable. The location was terrific. Only about 6 blocks from King Street where all the action is. Very close to ingress and egress routes. I could park directly in front of my room.
When I arrived, I felt as if the motel was a bit worn. The front doors had no screens or other distinguishing characteristics. The doors were distressed (worn) wooden doors with rusted top locks that were not in operation. The handle lock allowed entrance. There was a deadbolt inside. The room was smaller than expected, but I had an unexpected, unwelcome guest: a mosquito. Noise was not much of an issue when I was there, but it could be a problem as any sound in the u-shaped parking lot bounced off of the exterior walls of the u-shaped exterior walls of the motel. There was no clock in the room, nor alarm provided. Also, soap was provided, but not shampoo and creme rinse. I am not sure if the standard has changed, but I have never stayed in a motel or hotel that did not provide a complimentary bottle of shampoo. The water did not drain well from the tub, so 2-4 inches of water built up around my feet as I showered. The drink machine was broken. One could buy a drink for $1.00, but when I asked for a diet coke, that was a drink that was not offered. Luckily I used two drawers to lay out some of my clothes because I don't know I would have known where the hair dryer was if I had not used the drawer where it was stored. This is definitely a one star!
Being close to Washington, D.C.
Everything was fine
Very affordable price range. Free wifi. Kind staff in office. Free and easy parking. Quick cab ride into downtown Alexandria
Very old building, no updated amenities other than wifi. Our 1st room had a towel as a window covering and the toilet didn't flush. 2nd room was a bit nicer. But if you're not in town to spend the trip in your room then I guess it's OK.
It was only a 10 minute walk to the Braddock Metro station and only 15 minutes to King Street where the majority of the restaurants are. Neil, the desk attendant, was great! He welcomed us with a smile and was very informative about our location. I would totally stay here again!
Our room did face the busy street which meant we heard all emergency vehicles and traffic. However, if you put the A/C on, it drowns out that noise.
Comfy bed,location, room size,
No tea cups. Or hot water jug,no plates, problems with tv
