A very clean and comfortable place.
We loved the continental breakfast in the morning and our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. We definitely got a great value for our money.
The hotel was average. The kitchen was cute and it's proximity to Salem was good.
When we arrived on Friday night the room smelled fresh and looked clean. When we came back on Saturday night our room reeked of cigarette smoke. None of us smoke and we were gone all day so this is a mystery!
Our stay was great. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful.
Would have enjoyed more variety at breakfast. GPS directions send you to a North Shore Bank you really need to let guest know not tongues their GPS but instead they should print directions from map quest.
The room was great - clean and roomy. There was always a friendly person at the front desk. The front office also kept a full stocked snack area, so we didn't need to go to the store for drinks, etc.
There was nothing that we did not like!
Comfortable bed, good shower, good shampoo and conditioner (Paul Mitchell). Quiet location and friendly staff
Didn't like the bath soap, odd smell in building and corridor
Needs a bigger breakfast area.
The hotel is located in a serene environment. Nice breakfast, clean environment and the studio room i stayed with my family is very nice
The location is not very good cos you have to make a -turn to get there and the sign post is too small and almost covered with trees
The staff were all very lovely. The room was clean and comfortable and the location was very convenient. I would definitely recommend for travellers to the North Shore. We will stay again. Thank you!
Cell service in our room was almost non existent so we needed to make all phone calls from outside the building. Not a big issue though.
Fire alarm @5:50am
Very comfortable room. Kitchen area was great. Breakfast was just right.
...very friendly staff
Everything was exceptional; Clean friendly, quiet, best value for money. Would definitely stay there again.
Bed was comfortable
Room was dirty as well as the elevator was old and did not feel safe. Breakfast area was extremely small leaving no room for guests. The room smelled bad forcing us to open the windows for fresh air. The hotel was very hard to find and the desk staff was unable to give directions when called.
The room set up was good. WiFi was free and worked very well. The hotel had a free parking. Access from Boston was relatively easy.
When we booked, we asked for an extra bed for our child. When we arrived the extra bed was not done, we had to make it ourselves. It did not feel as a good welcome, after a 20hs trip. There were ups and downs in the quality of the room cleaning, with a tendency to medium quality. The choice of food at breakfast was a bit limited. No salty choice of food. The breakfast room was very small. We needed to get to breakfast early to have a table.
The staff was kind and the room was up to date.
There were people smoking a couple doors down from us. When I booked the reservation I made it clear that my girls have severe asthma and being in a smoke free place is extremely important. When checking in I reiterated this. Sadly as soon as we stepped off the elevator it was very obvious that people were smoking. I mentioned this to the front desk clerk and although she was apologetic nothing was done. I put pillows blocking the bottom of our door but that wasn't enough. My 8 year old woke up at 4:15 am crying that her lungs hurt and she couldn't breath. She was having an asthma attack and required breathing medication. She continued to have problems to the extent of vomiting. The one and only reason we were there was because my daughters were swimming in beverly Massachusetts in the large regional swim meet. On of the most important meets of the year. My daughter had to miss her second day of swimming. She was devastated and had to let her team down. Not to mention the $40 in meet fees that I had paid were completely wasted. As her mom the money and swimming were frustrating and sad. But watching my daughter struggle to breathe and vomit because of a smoke induced asthma attack is horrible! This is unacceptable and inexcusable. I realize that people break the rules and smoke, which in itself speaks poorly of selfish and inconsiderate humans. However, it is the hotels responsibility to enforce the rules. I spoke to the staff and made them aware of the problem. Nothing was done. I am thankful that my daughter has recovered from this horrific experience. The hotel may not be so lucky in the future. A person could die from something like this. Asthma is serious! A smoke free atmosphere is not a comfort but an absolute necessity. I will be calling the credit card company and desputing the charges. I will hesitate to stay in a hotel in the future for sure.
