It was a little outdated but it was definitely charming and added to the scenery.
People were extremely nice and helpful. Place was very clean.

Perfect, charming and cosy place, just in front of the beach, with a nice terrasse to enjoy the view during breakfast. Very warm welcome by the owners, who make you feel relax and at home. We were there en of March, so the place was very, very calm. We were lucky to be upgraded, so we stayed in a very comfy suite with a wonderful view on the ocean. We will definitely come back!

It's old and there's peeling paint here and there but that's entirely to our taste. A compound of several buildings and a marina, a healthy half-mile walk from downtown Greenport. Very clean, very comfortable, friendly staff. We were there off-season; pool and dining room not yet open but with all the great Greenport restaurants that didn't matter.

Walls were a little thin, but not much you can do about that.
Location - close to downtown/restaurants, water Privacy even for a larger compound.

No maid service Christmas day.
Location to town and where I had other commitments.

When you first walk into the hallway of the cottage we were staying in, it was very musky smelling. I am sure it is from the age of the building and the bay being so close. They need more Lysol.
Their queen size bed was sooo comfortable and the shower was great too.

When we pulled the sheets down there was hair everywhere! It looked like the bed was made and the sheets weren't changed! Super budget mattress and pillows. The overall cleanliness was very disapponting.
Location was great! Within walking distance of everything in the town!

The outside of the building is in need of some repair and painting.
Quaint, location was good. Loved that it is right on the harbor, my wife and I took a bottle of wine and sat one night in the Adirondack chairs and watched the people and boats in the harbor.

A great price for basic, clean and comfortable lodgings within a few minutes walk to downtown Greenport. The single queen room had a new mattress which made for an excellent night's sleep. Take a quick walk down the street to Bruce's Cheese Emporium for a great brunch!

Rooms were definitely dated; wood paneled walls, drop ceiling and old carpet. Would not stay there again
Location was good. Food was good.

House makes a poor Impression (Needs renovation). Rooms not clean.
Convinient to the Center of Greenport.
22 October 2014
One room was too small.
21 October 2014
No hair dryer, old tv with limited cable
Comfortable,clean. Love old style buildings

Status of upkeep Totally overpriced
Location Charme of premices
7 October 2014
No breakfast onsite off-season
View of marina, walk to village, historic house

The Gingerbread House is on a busy road so not good for sleeping. The restaurant was closed so no food available. The staff were not overly friendly. The hotel WiFi didn't reach our room and the hotel computer was not working so had to use the local library facilities to check-in for flight home.
Room nicely decorated. Greenport is a pretty little town.

Booked the hotel for the weekend of the Maritime Festival. It was quiet, quaint, comfortable, and reasonable (some hotels and motels were listed at $280+ a night). Within walking distance of the village. This is an historic building (1800s) with tons of charm and warmth, and family owned. If you want the canned charm of a chain hotel...move along. We did not eat at the hotel as there are many killer spots around town.
15 September 2014
The pool and lounging area were not cleaned, they were full of leaves during our entire stay. I realize that it was the day after Labor Day however the weather was still extremely hot (90 degrees) so it would have been nice to enjoy the pool.
14 September 2014
Everything was a bit dated except the bathroom, maybe a little musty but we didn't care
Bathroom was new, full kitchen with stove/oven/fridge/utensils etc, 8 minute walk to town, balcony overlooking the small marina, friendly staff, clean, we were never in want for anything (towels, soap, etc)
11 September 2014
Our room was in the front right on the road and there is traffic until late at nite and starts again early because of the cross sound ferry, the exterior is in dire need of a paint job and some new landscaping. I realize that most of the buildings are historic but that doesn't mean you can't paint and keep it clean and add some flowers and new shrubs. The room itself was light and airy and pretty but the hallway and stairs was dreary and musty. The place was manicured and well kept and just needs sprucing up. And of course all Greenporters are lovely and friendly and have been since my sister and I first started coming here 47 years ago with our parents.
The beds were very comfortable, it's just a short walk to town, the pool was beautiful although I didn't have a chance to use it.

Staff is just lovely. Walk to town in 4 minutes.
4 September 2014
This was a complete bait and switch. I was led to believe that I was booking a room with 2 king beds because that is the photo accompanying the specific room that I booked, and also which popped up when I received a confirmation with my booking. What I was stuffed into was a tiny room overlooking a wall with a single king bed. And this after paying over $320/night for what I thought was a larger suite. Stay away from this depressing place!
3 September 2014
The room was small and the whole place feels like it could do with an overhaul. It was very clean though, just wished it hadn't felt so much like an old peoples home (bit harsh, but can't really think how else to describe it).
The Inn is really central to Greenport and it's location right next to a Marina makes it very nice for a chill out. Got a really goods night sleep here. : )

Lots of steps for me...I am 75! I liked the pool but would have enjoyed a heated pool more.
The appointments in the rooms were modern and comfortable.
