Great western décor in room. Comfortable beds! Super breakfast both days with variety of dishes. Designated smoking area. Quiet!! Sherry and Rod were excellent hosts!
A great location on-the-go to visit Grand Canyon when on a road trip. The setting and facilities provided a far west feeling whilst having all required comfort. Special thanks to our hosts who made this a memorable stop on our three week road trip through the south west!
The staff is amazing. Clean and comfortable. The breakfast is delicious...the best!
We were looking for a place to stay near the Grand Canyon, and Williams, AZ was suggested. It was a bit of a commute for us (especially since we live on an island), but totally worth it!!! We enjoyed the delightfully rennovated old western style cabins. But the real joy in our stay was meeting Sherry and Rod. We had early morning excursions planned, and they made sure we were taken care of. We wished we had spent more mornings eating in for breakfast because it was DE-LISH!!! You could tell there was plenty of Aloha in the way the meal was prepared and the way they make their guests feel so welcomed. It also gave us an opportunity to meet the other wonderful guests. Mahalo for a great experience staying at this gem!
We loved the personal touch that our Hosts provided. It just felt like home away from home. The breakfasts were amazing and different each morning. A great location for the Grand Canyon and the restaurants down in the local village were brilliant. Best accommodation for our whole american experience - Thank you.
If you are arriving from CA coast and/or Las Vegas, you may first be surprised at your arrival at Trapper's but be sure that you will not regret your booking. First, the wooden room we had was very spacious, lovely furnished and decorated. You can then spend lovely evenings in front of your lodge, use the BBQ and listen to nature. After a good sleep, be ready to enjoy a breakfast with delicious home-made pancakes, berries, cakes prepared by Sherry and Rod, the innkeepers. Sherry and Rod are 200% committed so that you will have a fantastic stay and memory of Trapper's. Trapper's location is also very convenient if you have a car, easily allowing a 1-day visit at Grand Canyon and 1-day visit in Sedona, and be back for a nice dinner at Williams. Amazingly you will leave Trapper's with regret but with 2 new friends (Sherry & Rod) and one wish: to come back!
Refrain to eat too many pancakes even if they are so light and incredibly tasty!
I travelled from Scotland to stay here for 3 nights with my family and we were not disappointed. The hosts were exceptional, treated us like one of the family with lovely home cooking to set us up for the busy day ahead. The rooms were amazing and so clean. If you are planning on visiting Williams/Grand Canyon South rim this is the perfect place to stay with loads to see and do just a stones throw away.
Leaving! It is absolutely perfect :)
When you pull into trappers you may not know what to expect because it is not your typical hotel. However, from the second that we met Sherry and Rod we knew our stay would be amazing! They are the most friendly and welcoming people. Everything about Trappers is absolutely wonderful. From the beautiful setting, to the beautiful and comforting rooms, it was by far our favorite stop on our road trip. We can't thank them enough for making our stay so enjoyable! This is a must if you are in the Williams area or going to the Grand Canyon. Absolutely fantastic!
The location on the fringe of Williams, with restaurants close by The quality of the cabins, and most of all the hosts who were friendly, helpful and truly related to the "founding fathers" from the Mayflower.
Nothing to dislike
Sherry and Rod were great hosts and treated us like good friends. They stayed in close contact with us from the moment we booked. Rooms were clean, bright, atmosphere was quiet and relaxed, meals very enjoyable. Great place to get away but still be close to everything, make time to spend some time each evening stargazing from your 'porch'.
We cannot say enough about Trapper's Rendezvous! We loved the tasteful decor in the Antler's Room. It was super clean, with soft sheets and top quality towels. Chocolates and fresh flowers were waiting in the room for us along with an anniversary card. Too many little touches to mention. We felt personally welcomed by innkeepers Rod and Sherry. They are down to earth and will do anything to make your stay perfect. The country breakfasts cannot be beat. Tons of fresh fruit, meat, eggs, sausage gravy and biscuits, potatoes, muffins, and of course Rod's wonderful pancakes! (I am still working on getting the recipe from him.) Although it is not located in downtown Williams, it is just a few minutes away and is less than an hour to the South Rim of Grand Canyon. A local cowboy drives his horses and buggy from Trapper's to Williams and back each afternoon, which we plan to do on our next stay. And next time we will also find the time to explore Route 66. Rod and Sherry helped us with ideas on what to see in the area. We recommend this HIGHLY instead of hotels that all start to look the same. You will not have a single complaint!
just enough out of town to be out of it...3-5 minutes to main street...comfortable...big sky and quiet nights...breakfast is abundant...even a hint to Rod/Sherry that know you (or a family member) like something and there will be plenty of it in the morning...everything is clean/refreshed...perfect jumping off point for the GC--maybe an hour...18 nights trekking the west from Vegas, GC, Hollywood, Disney to Humboldt with the family...5 of us - kids ages 15,13 & 6 and this was a favorite...we will see you again...
every thing Feel like home. proprietors so kind and friendly. You feel like a Western old time but the comfort is exceeding high class hotel.
Cozy place with excellent breakfast and wonderful staff!
very friendly hosts very nice, big rooms excellent atmosphere a bit off mainstream
price at the upper end
Sherry & Rod are amazing host. They truly went out of their way to make sure we enjoyed our stay. They accommodated the fact my 9 yr old son is allergic to nuts and made sure our breakfast were nut free. Their breakfast was AMAZING! We were expecting a continental breakfast and received homemade pancakes, eggs, bacon, fresh fruit. Rod & Sherry make you feel like family. We are definitely planning our next stay at Trappers Rendezvous. The rooms are cozy, clean and the sheets feel soft and smell like fresh linen.
If I had to say something I didn't like it would be how small the restroom were... other than that... everything was great.
