The location was ok!
The electricity was off when we got there, the Internet was down and the rooms were not hygienic.
The rooms were full of bed bugs and bit me to no avail. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone
I didn't like that I asked for a non smoking room but the room smelled like smoke. The smoke smell was coming from the heating vents. So, if you book a non smoking room it doesn't matter.
It was cheap, it was the closest affordable motel to downtown Chicago. The staff was friendly. Wifi was pretty good. For $50 it's a roof over your head, decent standard definition television, and in the delivery radius of a lot of good "I'm up late and need calories" food.
The rooms are in need of renovation/deep cleaning. Many items in one of my two rooms were outright broken or near breaking. Staff seems behind the times on internet booking. This location is old and needs money. The second floor walkway has several areas where you can clearly see the rotting wood substructure of the walkway beneath the concrete. The cleaning crew uses an old shopping cart to carry their supplies around (abandoning it on narrow walkways when done instead of taking it downstairs). Many rooms on the lower floor had busted windows. This is definitely the shadiest place I have ever stayed in, even if it is literally across the street.
close to the city
stains on the bed sheets broken toilet lids beer stains on the furniture first attempted room had no sheets and foot steps in the bathroom (apparently not cleaned) blood stains on towels bad smell in room heater in bathroom was constantly on - no way to turn it off
- nobody answers the phone - motel was overbooked when we arrived, so we got a King instead of a Queen bed room. Nobody informed me about that beforehand - the entrance area smells like pee - the room had a moldy smell, there was trash on the floor, the night lights didn't work, the towel hangers fell off the wall, there was a big yellow stain in the bathtub, hair on the bathroom floor, no closet to put up clothes, no hairdrier - housekeeping took one of our towels without replacing it, didn't leave more shampoo or toilet paper I've stayed in many cheap motels before (motel 6, knight's inn) so I'm really not picky, but this place is just disgusting and needs new management/renovation!!! There was a grocery store cart outside with a few dirty towels which I'm pretty sure uses the housekeeping as cleaning cart! This place is a joke!
Clean bed, bathroom and cable channels.
Staff was pleasant. They did finally got our room ready.
No wash cloths. One light in the bed area that worked, others did not. NO working fire alarm in room. Mold on shower curtains. It needs some real updates. No lounge as show in pictures on website. No HBO.
Sheets were filthy, carpet stunk. Window was broken. Smelled like smokers room even though the place is all non smoking. Exterior picture was much better than the real thing. Lightbulbs were missing and no lampshades. Don't stay here even if you have to pay more.
We made a reservation, had a booking confirmation number and an email confirmation, but they still "didn't have any rooms for us" when we arrived. It appeared they just gave our rooms to someone else.
Cold night there was no heat. Bathroom door would not close. No garbage cans in room. Light bulbs were missing
Small room smelled like mildew and awful oldness. Bed smelled like smoke bed sheets were discusting and ripped. Air conditioning horible TV old and horrible. 1965 telephone and didn't even work.
This place is family owned and the staff was very personable and pleasant, beds comfy, shower and bathroom nice. Conviently located.
No complaints whatsoever.
The bathroom was very whiteso it seemed to be clean
We may ahve gotten the "party" room since it was a few frie but when we checked in the staff could hatdly even respond to our friendly conversation. The man at the front desk made a point to tell us we were getting a nice room. When we walked in it was absolutely gross . There were stains and what looked like mac and cheese on the walls. The cable cord was taped to the wall. the lamp shafes were burnt up. Sheets stained. Towells had holes. The bed had a phone book and a snoke alarm under the legs to keep it level .. ect we requested the room be cleaned whike we were out for the day and came home to nothing done. This was the worst place i have ever been in.
The place was very dirty including the towels weren't clean and the toilet didn't flush well.
The first room we checked in to had several problems: one of the beds was being held up by a phone book in one corner and a smoke detector in another (which meant we had no working smoke detector in the room!), the ceiling above the other bed was cracked and falling down, there was what appeared to be Chinese food stuck to the wall, and there was no air conditioning. When we asked to be moved to a different room, we were told there was only one more room available (even though they continued to have their vacancy sign lit for the duration of our stay), which was only marginally better. The air conditioning barely worked, there was no shower curtain (not even a bar to put one on!), and the room smelled of urine.
They tried to give me a room where water was leaking all over the bathroom from the second floor and did not seen phased at all when I came to report it. They was no offer of compensation such as a discount or a free room for next time. She simply refunded my money when I said I wanted a discount and that was it
Sheets were clean.
Walls filthy, rooms smelled of animals and stale smoke, light shades filthy and dented and hanging sideways. No remote for TV, locks on door looked like someone had broken them in. Staff was nonexistent
The only reason I considered this place, sight unseen was the proximity to the Howard street EL that I took into the city for a running race in which I participated.
.....and hang out on the railings, drinking beer and having nor regard for the need for quiet of other guests. Everything about this place screams rat trap.
Cleanliness is poor. Worst hotel or inn we ever had. First I ask for receipt when we checked in their printer is not working. Next wifi is not working. No shower curtain so bathroom was flooded with splash of water. Then the room smell is disgusting.
Exactly what I expected. Building should be condemned but it was a perfect cheap room for a male traveling solo. Would not take my lady there If I wanted to keep her.
It is not 3.3 miles from Wrigley as the site said. More like 11.
It was close to some of the things we wanted to do.
Room looked super shabby. In two days I never got the internet to work.
Cheap online pricing
Rooms were outdated except for bathrooms - recently redone. TVs have about 10 channels with no guides of remotes. Old carpet and bedspreads with holes. No garbage can in one room
I like the location
I didn't like the facility. The room was dirty. It smell like cigarette. The carpet was nasty. The comforter had burn marks all over it. Bathroom was dirty. I ask the front person to give us another room and he said place was full. Dirtiest place I ever been. It needs a complete makeover. I need a refund. Seriously!!!!
the staff was so nice.
The rooms were dirty the carpet was stained . The bathroom had insects in the tub and sink. One room smelled like urine we went from room to room to fine a half way decent room with no luck, do not stay in this place there were people with dogs in their room people who lived there unbelievable
