that we got to leave so early
There was no heat, the whole building felt like it was out of a horror movie, creepy front desk guy, terrible beds.
The front desk staff was drunk when I checked in and he asked me for more six dollors. when I ask for the explaination with the print of my reservation in the next morning, he give me five dollors back, he was rud and i can still smell the alchol from him.
You get what you pay for. The worst $64 I spent. The room was clean, but the restrooms are a disaster. If you want to be able to sleep at night, spend a little money on a nicer hotel.
Everything hotel room was non smoking but still smelt horrible had to wash every bit of clothing after we left even what wasn't worn Must avoid this hotel we checked in at 9 left by 6:30
I'm trying to remember anything positive besides the working wifi, but no, nothing i can recall... We booked and payed for two nights but couldn't stand the secound one and left. We tried to discuss the situation at the reception and left without a consent. A Hotel without any standards in a city lacking everything you expected near Monterey/Carmel etc.
There's nothing about this hotel that I liked, I wish I had paid a little more and got a better one.
The staff are very rude. They treated us like we were a bunch of prisoners. They were so angry and I couldn't ask any question. It's true that this hotel is cheaper than others but any one deserves to be treated like human.
A room was available while others in the area had no vacancy, and Salinas is conveniently located near Monterey and Santa Cruz.
Carpet was worn and discolored from dirt, which sums up the overall cleanliness of the hotel. Sold online w/ 2 queen beds but actually had 1 full and 1 twin. Room looked like a hostel, but we had our own bathroom. It might have been worth a $30 stay, so a fee that was over $200 is offensive. Keep searching, because you will definitely find a better place to stay!
Location is good and the people there are trying to make you feel welcome. The guy at the reception seems a bit weird, but he is nice. Currently they are renovating so things will get better. There are some nice restaurants and bars around.
The room was quite worn down and smelled a bit weird, also the walls are thin. There were some shady people inside the hotel. According to booking.com it was the only available hotel in the area and we payed way too much for our room.
The lady at reception was really nice and helpful. The town is convenient to reach Monterey and Carmel and offer lower prices. The location to downtown is good.
The hotel is horrible, the building, the lobby, the rooms. We paid a lot for our room which is far from being justified! 220 USD should have been worth 50 max.
Kevin was very helpful with our luggage. Room was clean, shower was spacious.
TV remote didn't work.
Nothing at all
Staff who took our bags to the room was drunk. Room was dirty, carpets were filthy, the whole hotel smelled musty. We were "upgraded to a private in- room bathroom- like that's an upgrade!! We had to ask for washcloths, but the guy didn't even know what that was! We were I. The third floor and it was hot with no ac so we opened a window. It had no screen and the bed was pushed next to it so if you rolled over, you could fall out!!! The bathtub was dirty and rusted. It was a nightmare! We did not stay because it did not deliver what it promised on booking.com. Travellers Inn should be condemned and taken off of booking.com website. It hurts your reputation. I will never use this service again, as I do not trust it now.DO Noy stay at travellers inn in Salinas, California!!!
Perfect downtown location. In the middle of many destinations Not too far from hwy 1
We did not like anything about this hotel.
We did not like the location or general condition of the hotel. We were verbally abused by the patron. This is by far the worst hotel I have ever seen. When I said the carpets were filthy, he asked me, am I going to sleep on the floor? Frankly, I was afraid to walk barefoot on the floor. The patron ended by yelling at me that it was my fault I was tricked into making a reservation at the hotel by using a booking agency.
Everything!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you want to know how it feels to stay in dump, then this is the place for you. It looked and felt as if this motel would be where prostitutes and drug addicts stayed. The neighborhood I thought was bad enough, but the moment I walked through the front door I wish I never had with carpets were dirty and torn. Once having climbed several flights of stairs (due to no elevator) I encountered bedding on the floor (from the room next door that was being cleaned) blocking my entrance. Upon entering the room, I found an almost full beer can. Everything looked run-down, dirty, and uninhabitable; I realized that I would not be able to stay. As I sat on the bed making phone calls (to find an alternative hotel), a bug jumped on my purse. At this point I didn't even care if I slept in the car. Finally, at 11:30pm I checked into a nearby Motel and was able to get a good nights sleep. The manager was unwilling to credit me any money, even though all I we did was sit on the bed :-( In all my 30 years of travel, this gets the prize for being the #1 Worst Place To Stay Award. Don't say you weren't warned.
Strong urine smell everywhere. Really everywhere. Feels like wherever you go you're in a giant public restroom. Sticky surfaces on refrigerator, bathroom, table, doors etc. "Manager" guy is very aggressive. When you complain about hotel "manager" responds by... OFFENSING YOU PERSONALLY. After I've contacted booking.com they marked my reservation as "no show". Trying to prevent me from leaving this negative review. I've had to contact booking.com again to override this trick. They got my 100$ for just entering into their "room" for no more than 30 seconds. Word 'refund' makes a "manager" guy really angry jumping up the stairs and yelling at you from there. You won't get any refunds.
Owners were very nice and helpful. Not located too far away from Monterey or Santa Cruz, as long as traffic is taken into account.
Very cheap beds, tiny room, must share bathrooms with other guests. A cheap place to spend the night that might or might not be more comfortable than the car.
It was all bad. I literally feared for my life here. Please I'm warning you to stay away!
Good as a place to crash for the night. Not much going on for it otherwise, good price
In kind of a sketchy neighborhood surrounded by foreclosed businesses. A police chase flew by our window at about 1:30 am. The bedding didn't seem like it was cleaned all too thoroughly so I slept on top of the comforter. Not a bad stay, especially considering the price, but you get what you pay for and nothing more.
realy dirty, hair in bed, dirty carpet , doors are not fully closable, loud.. it was a horror night. before we would sleep in the car. in addition we had to spend 100 bugs, for 50 you get a well super 8 clean and with ac
The guy at the lobby was nice, it was close to the train station and greyhound bus stop
Sheets were dirty, windows were broken and therefore open te whole night, bathrooms very dirty and no warm water, sink in the room very dirty.
The hotel is dirty. Our sheets hadn't been watched on the bed and were stained. The bed was damp too. We don't complain usually but cleanliness is a must. Very expensive too considering no breakfast. Mis leading on trip advisor too since there is a claim that the hotel has a fitness suite which it doesn't.
The building very old unusable should be knockdown.
no bath paper,soap.no TV control
There were no smoking signs everywhere but people were clearly smoking, to try and air the building they opened all the windows do you ended up in a cold room smelling of stale smoke. We thought it was expensive for what it was and we were relieved we only stayed one night. The bed sheets were dirty and the room was unclean, we have stayed in much nicer places for less money.
