I arrived late, and the hotel was full, said the clerk. When I arrived
in the area of my room, I could smell the strong odor of paint and just
hoped it was not going to be in my room. But it was!! I called the
clerk, he said he had nothing!! I called Booking.com customer service,
they really couldn't do anything but call the hotel, they got the
same answer, the hotel was full. I called the clerk back and told him it
was unethical that they even sold this and the other rooms that had been
painted! I said I couldn't even open the window! I think he started
feeling bad and then offered me another room of a guest not yet checked.
Just down the hall, no smell of paint, slept fine. Next day the manager
felt no pain for me. Awful!!! I reported them to the Health Dept. Just
know it's only temporary, the painting, but hey, it's still
unethical for them to sell these rooms!!
Nothing!! Except was able to get another room after complaining
profusely and put pressure on the clerk. I think I made him feel guilty
for putting me in a room that still smelled like pain! The room he found
was free of that smell.
