Travelodge Nags Head Beach Hotel  

Hotel staff very friendly and accommodating; enjoyed taking advantage of the free passes to the YMCA and also playing tennis on nearby tennis courts; short easy walk to beach; free beach access; coffee available in lobby 24/7; dog-friendly hotel - dogs limited to first floor only...availability of a rest room on first floor near pool area...

I loved the coffee in the Lobby and that they had my Hazelnut creamer that I use at home.

The front door was out of service because it got wet I was told. We were directed to use the side door, which is not convenient.

balcony furniture was not clean and could not be sat on.

the NOISEY work trucks parked outside that made LOTS of noise! no gluten free options in am no hot tub no hose to wash sandy feet

Great stay. Older hotel, but updated, clean, very comfortable beds. Good Location

Non-smoking room...but someone had been smoking. More desirable to have all Non-smoking rooms and guest that follow the rules. However, this is not the fault of the hotel.

Our room was a bit noisy since the lodge was located by the main road and we can hear the cars all day. The air dryer did not work.

Easy parking, good, fast elevators, clean rooms. Very pleased with our stay.

Continental breakfast was meager.

The beds were EXTREMELY comfortable, it was hard to get up in the morning.

The breakfast could have been high quality. Maybe a waffle machine and fruits.

Love the proximity to the beach and to wildlife and birding destinations - i.e., Pea Island and Alligator River Refuges. It's a great value for the money.

Have stayed there several times before for the reasons listed, but just learned of a 72-hour cancellation policy which might prevent me from returning as it provides little flexibility. Since my birding outings are very weather-dependent, I'd hope that 24-hour notice would be sufficient for cancellation with full refund. I made a last-minute decision to check out during my recent visit and did not expect a refund, but am looking towards future trips.

Nothing really, the room was dirty, sink has human cold spit and the shower had hair in the shower and floor. The only thing done was the bed was made. We got in late for the marathon the night after a hard long day. When I made the reservation I was told it was the only room and I had checked other hotels and nothing was available.

A good budget place to stay with a convenient location.

Only minor gripes were the noisy ice machine in corridor outside room and air con was also too loud to sleep - therefore got room cold whilst we dined and turned off to sleep.

Scott, the front-desk man, was exceptional. He was personable, professional and knowledgeable about recommending particular restaurants and sites-to-see.

Just the location: I could see the ocean, but I should have spent more to be on the beach, where I could see and hear the waves. Other than that, the hotel is reasonably priced, adequate and unmemorable, though not unpleasant. Definitely pet- and family-friendly though.

Great place for retirees (like my husband and myself) to stay as prices are lower during the week when we can travel for a mini vacation. Staff members were great and very friendly. Looking forward to many more mini vacations with Travelodge Nags Head Beach Hotel.

An older hotel that is keep clean but not worth the higher price since it is a block off of the beach.

The price, contenential breakfast and closeness to beach. The coffee is very good. Always had clean towels.

Outdated. Room and bathroom were not that clean. There were hairs in the bathtub when we got there. Drain cover in tub was out. Had to tell cleaning lady to change bedspread because it smelled like sweat. I slipped in tub a few times. Air conditioner motor constantly goes on and off, woke us up constantly. I woke up with a backache every morning from bed. Eating area is way too small to seat everyone.

pool wasn't being heated for some reason, water was surprisingly cool.

It was close to the public beach access.

It needs a lot of maintenance and cleaning!!!
