Friendly staff, comfortable, and clean, thats most important. And all the amenities I like were there.
Breakfast wasn't much, just cereal and stale donuts. But that wasn't my main concern.
Everything, it smelt, not clean!!!
The fact it was affordable for my emergency stay.
Quiet, comfortable, good price for quick stop.
Like other places at the beach, it could use some updates, but I guess that's what keeps the cost down.
It was cheap.
Cockroaches in the room. Broken bathroom window. Outdated room and TV. Thin walls.
location bed was comfortable
chair was broken wi fi would not connect carpet was not clean bed was not made daily
It was cheap, and pretty easy to park.
It's not as close as many other hotels to the beach. They dont have breakfast. There will be something wrong in the room. We changed our room once. There is no lights in the first room, and there is a broken chair in the second.
I guess you get what you pay for. Work up the first morning and found three roaches in the room. Lights didn't work. Stains in the tub. Just a gross place to stay.
Roaches. Terrible cleanliness.
Noise from heat/air unit
Closeness to the beach and Christmas lights
Staff in lobby were rude. Room was dirty had thick dust everywhere!
the wi fi was poor , the breakfast as advertised was not there, no reciepete for my sray and still no reciepete tp me, no room service and no willingness to change rooms for a handicapped resident.
Perfect location, everything was within walking distance. The staff was very cordial
Although the room was clean, there was roaches in the room.
Friendly people who stayed at the same place
Didn't like how there was a holding charge on the card and wasn't verified til after I noticed money was missing
Liked the cleaning woman Mary, very nice. Did a very good job in our room.
bathroom door would not shut. had to slam front door to shut it.
good location, close to the beach.
older facility. a little rough inside.
location and price
bugs and noise
refridge , micro, cable, and the mini breakfast!!
steps to climb
door latch broken, bathroom widow broken, and screen tore in window, staff did not see that guests were quiet at a reasonable time of night (it was around 1:00 in the morning till we could get a little rest.)dirty windows. For the money I would not stay there again even if it was half the price. staff sat outside under our room smoking, the smell rose up to our room.
It's downtown location
A pool was advertised but not open or available. Very minimal Breakfast. The Maintenace of the building was very poor. The walkway outside was noticeably starting to fail and fall outward. It was an eyesore inside a group of well maintained buildings. Room quality was decent but the outside was horrible. Just give it some love.
Travel Lodge of Virginia Beach is a good place to stay for the value if you are wanting to save money without all the amenities of a 5 star hotel. It's nothing fancy but it is clean and it's nice ppl that run it. The only problem I found is that the ice machine is way down the other end of the motel, while I was on the complete opposite end on the second floor. The light in the ice room was flickering and it was a bit scary but at least they had one. They do have a free breakfast, but it only consisted of cold cereal, milk and pastries along with hot coffee. Now if you were expecting a four course meal with juice and eggs and bacon and waffles this ain't it! Now they do have a pool and it is nice and clean and they keep it open at night in case you want to do a midnight swim or you're too lazy to walk the block to the ocean during the day. It does have a block fence around it which I found to be nice and an added safety feature if you brought the kiddos along. All in all I was satisfied and pleased and would recommend Travel Lodge to friends and family.
I didn't like the flickering light in the ice room and the location of it as well. It was just too far and being a woman I just didn't feel safe going alone. The TV was NOT a flat screen but a tube TV. It does however serve its purpose so really no biggie.
Closeness to beach.
Needs alot of renovations. Dated furniture & a frig I wouldn't use. For a beach front location it was a let down. Office had black glass, smelled of urine in parking lot, & appeared ghetto. Just didn't give off a safe feeling with its current appearance regardless of security cameras. No elevators. Needs to seriously think about renovating this property.
Staff was friendly. Facility was quiet.
Breakfast consists of raisin bran or frosted flake cereal, sour flavored orange juice and apple juice, stale powdered mini doughnuts, and the main office smelled horrible. Room was dusty. Location was not oceanfront. Not enough parking spaces. Phone in the room did not work.
Proximity to beach
A bit pricey for the quality
