The terrible and intense smell of smoke and cigarettes in the rooms.. They should have no smoking rooms
Smells great. Got a great price upgrade. Friendly staff. Clean & modern. Great beds.
Check-in line was huge (at 4.45pm). No coffee in room; Starbucks on site expensive.
Great location, clean and fab pools but...
not all the pools were opened and the big fancy loungers were reserved by...people who did not turn up, bit odd.
super location great view
Friendly, courteous and very helpful staff. Location from Airport and the Las Vegas Strip, everything very close by.
Trainees entertained me at front desk and were very unsure of their responsibilities which slowed check in process. After a long trip I want to get sleep.
the tropicana is a fabulous hotel , its friendly and comfortable and it dosent get too manic that you feel cramped . the position is great for the strip near the top of the south end close to 4 of the top hotels on the strip , and ideal for hopping on a bus to get up and down the strip and to both premium outlets. we have just returned the weather was great a little hot at times , but if you like it hot its ideal . there are endless amounts to do in vegas and the tropicana as a base is ideal , great position not too busy friendly staff , great comfortable spacious rooms .
one thing for improving is more choice on the food side .
good room very nice and big pool
very large, busy and anonymous hotel some restaurants are like in the basement
Position and pool
It felt light and airy compared to some of the other large hotels which seemed to have no natural light and felt dark and smoky in the casinos. It was clean and the rooms were very large and spacious. The pool was fabulous. We also had a lovely breakfast outside overlooking the gardens.
We had to queue to check in which after a long flight with three children wasn't great. There was an enormous reception desk with only one person on duty. Loved the pool area although the piped music was slightly loud and annoying.
The hotel/resort location
The prevelance of smoking which eventually gets into the air con - running nose and sore eyes - it is a health hazard !!
The coziness of the casino, not too crowded. The size of the room. It was clean. The pool area was beautiful.
The staff who checked me in was rude or just slow. She took people ahead of me when I was the only person in line because I stood in wrong area. She never apologized. Perhaps she just didn't speak good English. Extra resort fees. Food court. Not enough food choices. Too far to walk to rooms.
New, bright, good clean rooms.
I have stayed at hotels all over the world on business and pleasure and I was surprisd to find the front desk service was unfriendly and unhelpful. We had the immediate impression we were not the type of customers wanted. So we will not return. We only stayed overnight, our daughter was dissapointed not to be able to use the pool as its opening times did not open long enough hours.
Location & Staff
Parking Garage was too far from room.
Good location for our purposes, reasonable price, and our room was clean. Pool area looked nice but we did not try it.
Air conditioning unit so noisy we turned off at bedtime. Room heated up too much one night so had to turn on again. Casino area so smokey that we avoided walking through it whenever possible. Even though room was non smoking, it smelled like smoke coming through ventilation system. I would recommend this hotel only if guests are aware of the issues I posted here.
Location and free parking.
The wait to check in was over 30 minutes with only two staff to deal with at least 20 different groups waiting to check in. Too slow!.
Our Shower did not work at all. The handle wouldn't turn on any water so we had to use the one in my daughter's room across the hall.
Locted at the edge of the roaring center of the strip, so if you would like to sleep at night that's possible. The casino and hotel isn't that large, so it isnt overcrowded.
The restaurants in the hotel are very expensive ($40,- w/ no tax or service for an entree). You have to walk down the strip for more cheaper ones.
Room decor was nice.
Check in staff was very slow and obviously guests are not their top priority. Told me we would have to wait until 5pm to get our room. Check in was at 3! Not what you want to hear after a 9 hr drive. We got the feeling they just wanted us to be forced to spend money in their casino before they gave us our room.
I don't no know Why they charged resort Fee.
Price, furnishings were somewhat outdated.
The staff did their best to fix our mix up at the desk. Some one with a similar name was checked in to our room. So we had to get a different room and took about 45 minutes. The staff waived resort fees and gave us $50 food credit.
Hotel was a bit dated compared to other Vegas properties. the restaurants were not up to par compared to other hotel restaurants.
Food was delicious from the food court! Staff was amazing and knowledgeable. It was very clean. When our lights went out in the bathroom, the maintenance man was quit, helpful and apologetic.
There is only one door! Walking all around the WHOLE building to get got really annoying. There was also the longest walk from the front door to the rooms I have ever encountered. It was not easy to find the elevator to get to the rooms and because the rooms were so far from the check in desk, there was no one to ask for further directions. I never saw the fitness gym.
Two years in a row our bookings were messed up. On both occasions we were given a sub standard room with noisy air conditioning.
The hotel is bright and cheerful. It was also a quiet place to sleep.
Bathroom needed some maintenance - shower sprayed water onto the ceiling and cold drops came down on you while showering.
