the view .casino was light not dark like so many others no loud music blasting that was great.
no coffee that was a biggie for us also no frig two queen the bed closes to the door was unsleepable needs a new mattress .
We loved the room (we had a pool view balcony room). The pool was lovely and had a very good pool bar. Food was good in all the restaurants and cafes. Location re The Strip was excellent. We would certainly stay here again.
Would have liked tea/coffee making facilities in the room
Not too big. Pool area was nice. We set in the Beach Cafe a few times for breakfast and dinner and food was excellent. We also ate in the Steak restaurant and it was the best
The location was excellent and it was bright & clean not dark like most other casinos.
We checked in on a busy night and it was chaos one of the group was given 2 rooms already occupied by other members of our group then we was given a 100 doller credit but when spent was added to our bill ??
Location, views, parking
Great location to all the casinos and the strip. It was nice to not be a far distance from the airport.
Excellent value for money
Minor point but on checkout they did not thank us for our stay
good location, nice hotel, small casino
not the best resort in the world, but good value for money, resort fee is to high, you don't get a lot for it
Bathrooms, water system need to be renovated. At arrival changed room several times - the pond in the middle of the corridor did not disturn as much as the one in middle of my room and the smell.. Finally I got an "acceptable" room where bathroom still had some place to renovation(bath tube was still injured but at least the tiles were ot falling. I spent some nights in cheap motels but I have never seen anything like that before. During my travel around the US this became the only booking I regret.
The terrible and intense smell of smoke and cigarettes in the rooms.. They should have no smoking rooms
Smells great. Got a great price upgrade. Friendly staff. Clean & modern. Great beds.
Check-in line was huge (at 4.45pm). No coffee in room; Starbucks on site expensive.
Not a lot
When I booked my stay, I specifically booked for 2 adults and 4 children, we were given one room with 2 queen beds. I enquired about a rollaway , no couldn't get one because it would cause a hazard in the event of a fire, I accept that. When I enquired where my other children were expected to sleep I was told I could have extra blankets and pillows and they could sleep on the floor. Not good enough. In the end the duty manager offered us a second room on a different floor at a supposed reduced rate. When I checked on the internet later the rate he offered was the going rate for that room. No discount at all. The rooms weren't overly clean, there were what appeared to be food splattered on one of the mirrors and the rooms were very dusty and had a strange odour about them. You pay a compulsory resort fee of $19.99, which covers pool and gym entry, plus wifi, which they advertise as free. We get back from an afternoon of sightseeing and dinner on a very hot day looking forward to a swim, nope can't do that at 7.30 pm as the pool closes at 7 pm. Really, no where near good enough. Don't use the hotel phone to make calls, we made a 1 minute call to la and a 1 1/2 minute call to the Grand Canyon, cost. $50. Yes $50. When I argued the matter at check out with the duty manager, according to her that's the rates charged by their phone provider not the hotel. Give me a break, you are just ripping ordinary people off to increase your profits. I was told I should have checked the rates as explained in the information pack in the room, guess what there was no information pack in my room to check. Charging $50 for what would equate to a $5 phone call at best is disgraceful. Give this place a wide berth. I don't get where they allow people to smoke indoors in the gaming venues, especially when the gaming machines are right next to where you check in and out, very offensive if you are a non smoker.
Great location, clean and fab pools but...
not all the pools were opened and the big fancy loungers were reserved by...people who did not turn up, bit odd.
Loved the location and the facilities available within the hotel.
Unfortnately we had booked through Booking.com a room for 3 adults, 2 children and upon arrival had been given a room that only slept four. They explained that it is there policy that only 4 per room for fire reasons. We ended up having to sleep 5 in 2 double beds which led to uncomfortable sleep for 3 of us. I think this was more an issue which Bookings.com rather than the Tropicana.
super location great view
Friendly, courteous and very helpful staff. Location from Airport and the Las Vegas Strip, everything very close by.
Trainees entertained me at front desk and were very unsure of their responsibilities which slowed check in process. After a long trip I want to get sleep.
The pool was great. Full sun on the main area from 10 am on. Good in room dining, took about 30 mins on average. Was upgraded to a Jr Suite from a Bungalow... The windows actually open (a rarity in Vegas), albeit not very much. Liked the proximity to the South Strip & the Deuce (bus) stop right out front. Good professional staff...
The casino was a bit bright. Yes, that's a complaint... Noise from the city below (was on 20th floor of Club tower facing the airport) at times.
the tropicana is a fabulous hotel , its friendly and comfortable and it dosent get too manic that you feel cramped . the position is great for the strip near the top of the south end close to 4 of the top hotels on the strip , and ideal for hopping on a bus to get up and down the strip and to both premium outlets. we have just returned the weather was great a little hot at times , but if you like it hot its ideal . there are endless amounts to do in vegas and the tropicana as a base is ideal , great position not too busy friendly staff , great comfortable spacious rooms .
one thing for improving is more choice on the food side .
good room very nice and big pool
very large, busy and anonymous hotel some restaurants are like in the basement
Not much to like.
Air con is loud. police sirens can be heard in the hotel rooms and they were going off all night every night. Sick to death of all the hidden cost eg: resort fees, internet charges. Next time we go to Vegas we will be staying in a hotel off the strip.
Position and pool
It felt light and airy compared to some of the other large hotels which seemed to have no natural light and felt dark and smoky in the casinos. It was clean and the rooms were very large and spacious. The pool was fabulous. We also had a lovely breakfast outside overlooking the gardens.
We had to queue to check in which after a long flight with three children wasn't great. There was an enormous reception desk with only one person on duty. Loved the pool area although the piped music was slightly loud and annoying.
The hotel/resort location
The prevelance of smoking which eventually gets into the air con - running nose and sore eyes - it is a health hazard !!
The coziness of the casino, not too crowded. The size of the room. It was clean. The pool area was beautiful.
The staff who checked me in was rude or just slow. She took people ahead of me when I was the only person in line because I stood in wrong area. She never apologized. Perhaps she just didn't speak good English. Extra resort fees. Food court. Not enough food choices. Too far to walk to rooms.
