Tropicana Motel  

Very clean and friendly.

Parking is free and off street but a bit awkward. I had a very early checkout and some parked behind me. I made it out but I wasn't sure I was going to be able to.

Clean quaint room.

Says has free bicycle use but bikes were non rideable.

Just a few blocks from down town, very clean and old style.Staff very polite.

The room was clean and comfortable and the staff very nice. We needed a room just for a night to catch a cruise and this fit the bill. If you're looking for something with all the bells and whistles this is not the place for you.

The operator , Chuck, was very helpful and made us feel really comfortable staying there. He provided a lot of advice as to where to eat and how to get to various places, and we found that his advice was spot on. We enjoyed all the places he recommended. When we had a problem with our computer Chuck went the extra mile and provided us with his to use. Robert, did a great housekeeping job for our room. We only booked for 5 nights and stayed 13! We turned down a 31/2 star and stayed extra 8 nites! This is the best 2 star anywhere. Actually better than a lot of 3 stars!

No pool; but we did not miss it as much as we thought , as the friendly staff and cleanliness of the facility was superb. We had a rental car and drove to the beach daily, which is not far.

Reception is great. Very courteous and willing to go further than most to offer advice, service and to accommodate your every need.

Spent 1 nite atTropicana Motel on March 31, 2013. It's right on US 1 and not far from FLL airport, so that's a plus. The room in which I stayed, #8, had thick concrete walls. Interesting, good for the noise. It was clean, pretty comfortable, enough towels, Wi-Fi, small fridge and micro. There's a small mall and supermarkets close by, which helps. Still, the place seems more for a 1-night stay. Though on US 1, kind of isolated & surrounded by sort of empty lots. In my view, not really family oriented or for solo female traveler. The location. the owner was very kind, room was clean, and perfect for one or two nights.

Smeels cigarret a lot, the shower was low and small

The staff was awesome. Chuck the manager was very helpful.It was a really clean and cute place. Will stay there again.

I have to admit the traffic noise was the only problem.

Price, location, helpfulness of staff, good restaurants close by, well maintained vintage motel, great towels.

Traffic noise, exterior room door had a gap (1") at the bottom.

Far location from any place, not very nice at night. Too noisy.

The staff was incredibly friendly and even worked with me when I had to change the reservation last minute and refunded part of my money. The room was very clean and tidy and I would definitely stay at the Tropicana again. Perfect place if you're on a budget.

The only thing not that great was that the neighborhood was a little sketchy but we had no problems at all.

Very nice decor, super comfortable bed and pillows, staff is very friendly and helpful and knowledgable about the area.

Only drawback is it's location on Route 1, and the excessive noise from traffic.

It was very clean and a real nice bed. Its very small but for a bed and shower its great for the price.

Good night sleep , Plain and simple. Friendly owner.

Chuck and Robert were very helpful, and made us feel welcome. Rooms were modest, as this is an older motel, but very very clean...beds very comfortable. We enjoyed our stay...close to services and shopping.

Tropicana is 1960's style, older for sure, but honesy, it met our needs just fine.

I liked the atmosphere & the easy access to restaurants & supermarkets. It was very clean, provided wifi, had fridge & micro, & very friendly & helpful staff.

Nearby Las Olas and US1. Pricing compared to other hotels/motels. Very friendly staff. Ideal for those who are just looking for a nice place to sleep and do day time traveling to the greater Frt Lauderdale area

no common area and situated on a busy road (but that's why its called motel!)
