Nice, comfy bed Clean room Inexpensive
Very small shower space and outdated shower head Noise levels TV did not seem to work
Private and clean. Will be coming back :-)
Cable stopped working although we weren't in the room for long other than sleep and getting ready. and found 2 roaches. Not a big deal.
The manager was friendly and helpful and I slept well because it was surprisingly quiet. Also, the room was very clean and there was a fridge and microwave.
The bathroom had no electrical outlet to shave. However, the cord reached from the bedroom. Also. The shower was only up to my chin and I am only 5'9" tall. Also, the space around the door was larger than I expected so worried about "critters" getting in. None of these issues was a big deal as the price was right.
I like nice people & things that have character. This place has it. It does sit between a busy street & an alley, that's not the best. The tropic feel is a bit cheap & grass full of stickers. It's a vintage place, that they are trying to keep cheap costs. My stay was most excellent & the manager was very kind, very helpful, never disturbed me, if he saw me out, always ask if I needed anything. I kinda like to hide among the trees so to speak, this is bare. Great sleep! I'd stay there again.
on bus route and location
Friendly and helpful manager Good location Great value Touring bike friendly
It was within walking distance to the venue and had a mcdonalds close by, staff was friendly, tv worked fine, good for an overnight but not for longer than that
Bed was kind of stiff and the shower was tiny neighborhood and surrounding area was slightly ghetto
Not a bad size, 270sq ft. Small Fridge and microwave were nice. Room had 2 chair and a small table to enjoy your breakfast. Friendly staff. Wynn-Dixie across the street (nice!). Plenty of parking. Outdoor chairs/tables.
Stupid me, picked up that this hotel had 7.8 booking.com overall rating, missed that this was a one star hotel. For a 1 star, 7.8 is about right- thinking all 7.8's were the same, though this was a great deal (eg; a 7.8 one star is the same as 7.8 three star hotel). The hotel is on a very busy street (Hwy 1), super glad they hooked me up with a room behind the hotel (rooms 11 and up, btw). WiFi has it's moments (2-4 bars). Location is little seedy, glad they lit the entire complex with heavy duty lights. The room itself reminded me of my army days at Ft Benning, GA- circa 1910, albeit they have given it a good painting with nice woman touches (paintings, throw-rugs, mags, knick-knacks). Very small shower for a 6'1, 200 lb guy- 2.5 ft x 2.5 ft.. Would rate the bed mid level, guessing bed had a big time pad. The A/C was a low window unit, kept on 73 degrees (perm setting), could keep up with the summer temps (mid-90's), barely..... was comfortable if I didn't move around.
From the time I made my reservation online until I left the motel everything made for a pleasant experience. The price was the best I could find in the area at the time of my stay and was worth it. I will be staying again during another high season period in Feb.
I gained 5 pounds during my stay in FL.
Once you walk into the room, it's like stepping back in time....but in a good way. Room was extremely clean. Everything in working order. Bed was comfortable.
The look from the outside along with the location will surely put inexperienced travelers off.
Location is great. Check out the excellent shopping and food across the street. Management is great.
Clean Room Comfortable Bed Clean Bathroom Adequate Air Conditioning TV & Wi-Fi
It was a wonderful place and very clean. They helped us get a rental car and many places they recommend to eat. Great location for everything you needed or wanted. Will be back next year. Thanks for everything there from the Tropicana Motel. 100% Satisfaction
Convenient to FLL, Manager arranged to have my key ready for easy pickup after front desk closing ours. Decor was really nice - made an old cheap motel into a cool, good value experience.
It seem sketchy on the outside which had me worried. But nothing happened to my car which is always great. The room was cute clean and cute. It's close the bars which is convenient. The room did the job and did the job well for it's price.
Bring your own soap and toothpaste and everything else. Either what they had was low quality or wasn't there. They had shampoo but no toothpaste! But not a huge problem.
The staff is wonderful. Location is very good, central to most everything. Shopping and dinning across the street is very nice.
Wi-Fi a bit iffy
This is a great little place for a stay in the Fort Lauderdale area. Not fancy but clean.
Service was excellent and Chuck was very friendly and kind. Location is close to attractions. Room may be kind of small but it still had room for a fridge, microwave, coffee machine and a table and two chairs. Very cozy.
The owner went above and beyond helping me get a cab and rental car, he was great! The value for your money is amazing we like to travel on a budget but still want cleanliness and great facilities I would recommend this motel to a friend!
For being such an old property, the room was really comfortable and bed was as well. You could tell that it was a well loved property it its distant past.
Old and rundown.
Paid for a queen but got standard. He said it was a queen bed but it was a full
The service, the manager was exceptionally nice...even offered to help me with my luggage..I really loved everything so much, that I have booked 3 times in succession......
As per previous reviews. the motel and area look worse than they are. It's a traditional old-fashioned motel with a small two-storey main building and several seperate blocks of rooms set back away from the road. First appearances are that it's run down, but the staff are super-friendly and the room was basic but perfectly clean. Linen and towels were perfect and the room's coffee-maker produced good coffee. The air conditioner was effective but quite noisy, although I finally discovered the fan had a 3-speed setting after I went to bed. Reducing it to 1 made it tolerable. All in all, good value and just fine for an overnight stopover.
