This is an old funky motel spa. The room was fine for the price. Lots of room and a very comfy bed. Complete kitchenette as well.T
The old came out in the spa baths. Very old facility and didn't appear as clean as it could be. Closing hours seemed a little sporadic. Chalkboard at check in said open from 8 till 9 at night and front door said 8 till 9 but 8 till 4 Sunday. You tend to remember the one where you check in and when you return from a nice Sunday tour and expecting to have an early evening soak but find the spa closed at 4. ( kitchenette would benefit if it had a can opener)
Quiet and inexpensive
Jacuzzi on top of building
No robes in rooms.
Inexpensive. Near downtown and in the spa district. Friendly staff. Quiet. Like many places in that area of town, it was older but well maintained. It was fall and one of the nonbearing pear trees was actually blooming!
A little worn.
Staff welcoming, friendly and on the ball! Great old place- lovingly and thoughtfully kept. Beauty in details- like the decor, book selection, wine glasses, and fun items in the gift shop. Conveniently located to shops, visitor center, grocery/liquor, museum, etc. You cant lose staying here.
They were dirty and uncomfortable. There was rust and mold in bathing area bath tub was small. The bed was uncomfortable. The rooms were very out dated
Soaking in the mineral waters Large room with kitchen high pressure in the shower clean and comfy beds
The hotel is beginning to show its age and some things are a bit run down.
The Charles motel is centrally located and you can walk almost anywhere down town from your room. The baths are somewhat old but the natural hot spring water is definitely hot,* The hottest in town I have been assured... The staff is always helpful, the motel is very inexpensive and should be regarded that way. All in all you get what you pay for and I have no complaints with this low cost establishment..,
Close to my friends who have a gallery. Relative inexpensive. Staff responded quickly when I pointed out the dirty linens.
Dirty, dirty. And I will recommend but with qualifications.
Customer service was very good and I very much enjoyed the hot spas and small town charm..
The staff was very helpful and you are with in walking distance of all the sights
Not enought time to enjoy everything
jacuzzi on the rooftop
run down condition of motel
The gentleman that was working was extremely helpful. Staying here was like going back in time when things were simple and people were nice to each other. My husband and I used the rooftop for our mineral bath and it was very relaxing.
Very large room with full kitchen The spa was an interesting experience
Very poorly equipped - no pans for the cooker, no hairdryer, NO ICE! - had to buy a large bag of ice from the supermarket opposite. No phone. TV unwatchable. Staff's attitude very aimiable but too laid back to worry about the above.
I really liked my room -- it had a complete kitchen in it so we were able to save some money (important for us) by cooking in the room's fully equipped kitchen. The hot springs tubs are a real kick, and the tiled tub in my room was very nice.
The bed was very, very hard. And the wi-fi was only available in the lobby, which was a bummer for me as I travel with a tablet so I can watch Netflix and Xfinity Go before I go to sleep.
large room, good parking, easy to find, friendly staff
not totally clean, no soaking after 8pm
Very friendly staff
Old property, shabby appearance, typical of 1930 era tourist court. However seemed to be clean enough. Hot spring access not modern
Customer service was excellent; over and above expectations, gave trip/visit suggestions, restaurant recommendations, value items in the area
We have mobility issues; our unit was on the second floor, but we negotiated the climb without incident.. unit was roomy and rustic, and above expectations
I like to be left alone. Since I was a longer stay guest..maid service was limited which I liked. The hot springs were great. Staff was friendly and courteous.
I would have preferred a view of the desert but this was a first time stay in T or C so I wasnt able to determine that ahead of time. No fault of the motel.
Bath set up. Good for privacy and relaxing.
Room sparce. Large space under door that opened to street side parking that aallowed cold air in. We crammed a towel under the door. Coffee pot in room, but no coffee.
Very friendly, helpful staff. Very reasonable rates. Rustic, 1940's charm.
Unit contained basic kitchen table and two chairs Nice loveseat
WiFi was spotty Whole facility is poorly maintained; rusty chair outside our door. Heating system very loud and old. Not just rustic; shabby is the word.
They gave me a suite which was nice.
I killed seven huge cockroaches. A week before they had a flood and the water drove them into my room?? Hard to get a good night sleep. Everything else was clean.
