- very good location, walking distance to hollywood. - Clean and comfortable. - Staff is very friendly and helpful.
- A bit expensive. - Lack of parking space within the hotel.
How clean it is and newly refurbished, they even allowed me to do laundry for free, amazing service.
Nice place to stay very close to Hollywood walk of fame.family run business very nice people and very helpful.they arranged a day tour around LA which was very good.WiFi was excellent strength.
My friend and I came to LA for a concert at the Hollywood Bowl. That being said, the location was perfect- a 15 minute walk to the Bowl, short walk to Hollywood and Sunset Blvds and in a safe area. Staff was extremely friendly and accommodating (we got our room upgraded for free).
My only qualm is that the shower head had some calcium build-up that affected the water pressure.
The staff was very friendly and nice. His name was Devang and he was very polite and helpful. Parking was a bit strange but what do you expect in downtown Hollywood? Good location with AC which was awesome since it was super hot and humid when we were there. Getting in an out of the hotel was easy and it was walking distance from all the bars and some awesome restauraunts.
I really like the friendly staff. Great little, "feel like home hotel" It was like my guest room at my parents house:) Thumbs up Trylon Hotel!
Walking distance to Hollywood blvd and Hollywood bowl
It's small, dirty, smelly, ugly, nothing like pictures, leaky shower, no pool, terrible $10 parking 2 blocks away, expensive, just plain awful. Hated it!
The workers were friendly and nice, but not very helpful. No problem getting wifi.
I was stranded in LAX due to an airline problem and had to stay overnight with a toddler in LA. The night I stayed, all other hotels under $500 were already booked, due to some conference that happened to be on that day. This hotel was about $450, and was basically a motel 6 style room. Nothing fancy. Much too expensive for what you get. The toilet had a loop of paper wrapped around the lid and seat that said "sanitized." That's about the level we're talking about. I called the hotel before staying in order to find the easiest method of getting to the hotel - was there a free shuttle, should I take a taxi, etc. The man I spoke with had a very thick middle eastern accent, and it took two phone calls to understand his recommendation. If you're curious, he recommended to take the "Super Shuttle" or the "Prime Time Shuttle". Both are the same idea, you ride with several other people and get dropped off at your location (ended up being reasonable, about $20/person each way from LAX to Hollywood). When I checked in, the man at the desk tried to convince me I had purchased two rooms. I showed him my receipt on my phone, that it was only one room I had purchased. It ended up being two rooms that were connected by a small bathroom. I needed a receipt in order to get the airline to reimburse me (they would only reimburse about $100, so didn't even get the hotel paid for). I only had a credit card receipt (small, no details of breakdown of costs) for my stay, so I emailed the hotel for a formal, descriptive invoice with a cost breakdown. I have stayed many hotels for business trips, and this has never been an issue. I got a hand written scanned paper on the hotel letterhead that only included the hotel cost and tax (didn't include any breakdown besides that). Not my idea of "formal and descriptive."
the hotel owner was so helpful in recommending places to eat out, things to do etc :)
Great location. 24hr access with swipe card. Good air con, new LCD TV, friendly staff
Free parking on site would have been better, but it was only 150m away and $10 per day, so not too bad.
Bathroom is clean, recently upgraded
The room and the bed is too small for the price I paid
Great location, fast internet
Unprofessional family staff, looked like they were in their pyjamas half the time, owner assumed I was trying to commit fraud due to credit card number mix up, he spat flem in his garden in front of me. Carparking involved parking at a gas station and carting your luggage across 6 lanes of busy road.
Wonderful staff, friendly, especially for being there for me in a pinch, since the other hotel we were supposed to stay at was being ridiculous at check in and we left. I saved over $100, the rooms were small but cozy, clean, and I felt safe.
Staff was super helpful and friendly; Walking distance to Hollywood Bowl; 2nd floor corner room was quiet with remodeled room/bathroom. Mattress was super comfortable
When walking the neighborhood, you could smell urine. Parking is a couple 100 yards away.
Close to hollywood blvd, short and cheap taxi to west hollywood
No milk, coffee maker didn't work
Clean, comfortable, nicely decorated. Its sad the parking was so bad becasue I will not stay here again because of it,.
Parking- I had to pay to park- to walk a couple of blocks (through trash and broken glass littered streets and got harassed by a person on the street) - park in a gas station lot down the street. I am amazed that someone actually thinks this is a decent parking arrangement. I did not feel safe at all coming back to the hotel after parking and the next day didn't feel safe walking in the traffic to go back and get my car. I would GLADLY have paid $20- (instead of $10) to have a better parking arrangement (maybe the hotel staff would be willing to valet the car and see what that walk is like!) Its sad this was such a stupid arrangement, as otherwise I would stay here again- but not with this parking situation- it is a deal killer. I had seen reviews before about the parking, but if I had had any idea what the truth really was I would not have booked this hotel.
Friendly staff Clean hotel Comfy beds
Lovely little hotel, staff were nice and helpful. Great location.
Friendly & helpful staff.
We were firstly placed in a smoking room which wasnt pleasant. The staff were apologetic as we had mistakenly been allocated this room. As we werent smokers we could smell the staleness of the room.
Five minutes to walk to Fame.
Very small, bad facilities.
This was such an awful experience ever. We booked a room for three days, the first day our flight arrived late, so when we came to the hotel, it was already midnight around 12.30 am. An old woman opened the door. She was the start of our nightmare. When we walked into the Front desk, a smell of curry came out. Afterward, we realised the old woman, her English is too poor to communicate with customers. I used my debit card as the deposit card when we booked the room from booking.com, but my friend and I prefer to pay the rent separately and by cash. We told her about that, we said we will pay cash afterward when we check out. But apparently she did not understand what we were talking about, we explained this issue for around 40 minutes!!!! And she kept saying "no! I want money! Get out!" Finally, we paid for one night, when I asked for receipt, she used her finger pointed towards me and said:" I hate you! Don't talk to me!" I was shocked, she might be mad, I don't know, but if you want a comfortable place to stay when you come for vocation, I will NEVER recommend this "hotel", it's more like a B&B (Bed and Breakfast), but the room is sooo tiny and they even don't have breakfast. The outside was too noisy because the room is next to the road. The location is not bad as it's 15 minutes drive to Universal Studio. If you still decide to choose this place, be ready for the old woman abuse you, be ready for the curry smell, the tiny room, and the noise. Hope you all have a great vocation.
Not really value in price.
- Location is great. - Booked a double room which ended up being two rooms linked by an internal door.
- My room was a little noisy through the night.
if you are travelling on a small budget, works great since you are 2 blocks from hollywood blvd. Easy entrance, and nicely personal working there.
If you are a walking distance from Hollywood blvd, keep in mind by sometimes by night neighbourhood are noisy.
