Location is great, bus stops across the street by the awsome diner place where you get free coffee, tea or fresh lemonade if you are staying in hotel. Metro Red line is 10min walk away and so is entire walk of fame. Movie studios are 10min bus ride up north.
One day we got some ants but they were renovating few rooms and I guess they got iritated and seeked another location...nothing we couldn't handle.
Great location. Excellent value. Nice staff. Perfect for a night in Hollywood. Small, but cozy rooms. I've stayed in a lot worse for more money.
It felt a little odd leaving my car at a gas station around the corner, but it was well-lit and open 24 hours.
We got upgradedvto the delux room
Comfortable bed and good strong shower. Great location. You can see the Hollywood sign from round the corner and the walk of fame is walking distance.
Woman on reception was a bit grumpy and officious when we arrived. I think we had got her out of bed as it was about midnight, however, we'd be travelling for 19 hours and a friendly smile would have been appreciated. Room smelled a bit of drains.
The deluxe room ($99/night) was a significant improvement on the most basic room ($69/night) and was clean and adequate. The response of the owner went some way to ameliorating the situation and he moved me to a deluxe room after a dreadful first night, which was much appreciated.
The most basic room (apparently this was the last available on Booking) was like something out of a David Lynch movie. Grotty and stinking of smoke and looking into a car salvage site. It was dark and dingy; the carpet was tired and stained and the bedding was in a pretty horrible state with cigarette burns through it; the pillow smelled strongly of smoke and as a consequence, so did my hair the next day. The shower experience was also not particularly pleasant. You get what you pay for I guess (this being one of the cheaper rooms in Hollywood), but it was still no where near acceptable. I got the impression that the place is being renovated; this cannot come soon enough.
The location was great just a short walk to Hollywood Boulevard. Owners are friendly and very helpful. Our Room was very clean and tidy. Did see other rooms from the hall and they looked as good. Great Wifi. Nice bathroom.
Queen bed was a bit small for us, some of the rooms are being renovated so the sound traveled though the building with some work being carried out up until 10 pm on one night. I'm sure this must have been a one off.
Price, wifi, fridge, location, staff
Only one block away from Hollywood boulevard and easy access to other top locations
Location was close to Hollywood Walk of Fame and close to a good café for breakfast. Liked the connecting room with bathroom in between. Great for privacy. Young man at desk was very nice and helpful.
Room was very dimly lit with overhead light. Room was next to a parking lot and people were slamming car doors until late in the evening. Older gentleman at desk was not friendly and didn't seem to care about his guests.
Very friendly and precize staff. They give full of instructions - and even a map - about everything. Clean room. The hotel is one street from Hollywood Bvd. You can see the parking lot from the window. We would like to go back soon and enjoy their hospitality again.
The reception of the hotel is terrible! How can someone treat their clients with such bad humor and bad manners?!
Loved the simple and minimalist decor of the room, it made the room comfy and welcoming.
Very friendly and helpful staff but not intrusive, good location.
No real downside
Location location location Refurbished rooms Hollywood sign at back of hotel Free coffee & lemonade in café across the street (if you purchase food!) Very friendly staff in hotel
Lack of tv channels Additional cost for parking..on the upside it was just across the street and was a reduced rate of $10 per 24 hr period.
Perfect distance from where you want to be but not too close to hear all of the action. Definitely hollowood but not the strip which is what I prefer
A little small but this not a complaint just an observation great comfortable semi-lux space
Its in a good location. The parking just sucks. Its a Cute and Quaint place to stay. Small, yet cozy. Very clean.
Its real small for the price.
parking available, friendly staff, great location, nice rooms
Perfect location. Made staying in LA without hiring a car very easy- a few minutes walk from main bus routes and metro stations, and of course the famous Hollywood Boulevard. Definitely will stay here again!
2 connecting rooms was nice.
Very rude ownership. First they charge U a $10.00 per night parking fee which is located at a Chevron gas station 3 blks away . 2nd the fridge did not work and the owner kept saying that it does work and finally he got angry and said he could not replace it so either we take a smaller fridge or we find another hotel. The entire family was VERY rude to us the entire time we were there and I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
strongly recommended location, cleanness, wifi, hairdryer, coffee maker, fridge
Decent location Clean rooms Comfortable bed Free Wifi Good price
Parking across a main street at a potentially shady location.
Accommodating staff, Kidron was very friendly and helpful
The location was great, only a 10 minute walk to the Hollywood Boulevard (Walk of Fame). I would stay in this area over LA Downtown! They didn't have a place to eat, but recommended the cafe across the road which has DECENT coffee - which can be hard to find in the US. The original manager who welcomed us was friendly, but the other guy (seemed like he was the first guy's cousin) seemed to struggle with English and didn't understand our queries.
We paid an extra $20 a night (3 nights) to have the newly renovated rooms - not worth it (although i didn't see the older rooms). We were right outside the reception and heard everyone come in and out at all times of the night. The beds were hard and squeaky. Not sure if i would stay again.
Clean room . Feel like I was staying at a friends house
No on site parking. It was $15 extra to park a block away
The rooms were nicely updated and a very convenient walk to the HollyWood Bowl
