Plenty of space to sleep for me, my husband, two kids, and my Mom. Beds were very comfortable.
Could have used a few more chairs. Other than the couch there was one chair so you couldn't even sit in the room and eat. My kids were small enough (11 and 6) to sit on the "foot stools" at least. The cleanliness of the room needed improvement. I was surprised at the lack of attention to detail. The light in the wall cabinet had literally burned out at some point (you could see where the wood had burned) and was never replaced which was very strange. Had to ask for toiletries and no hand soap in the bathroom upon check-in although they brought some up right away.
We stayed in the family room and it was huge! We frequent NYC and have never had such a large area for our family. It was great.
No valet parking but with the size of the room and the low price, it was something we could live with.
Ideal hotel for families. Good location with easy access to subway and Lincoln tunnel. Rooms are simple but modern.
The room smelled like fried food. Probably because on top floor next to exhaust of some sort but still unacceptable. Staff is fine.
Great location to metro and walking distance to Times Square. Very clean and comfortable. Though a tight fit for a couple with two grown teenagers it was still big enough to accomadate us and our large suitcases. Value for money.
We traveled with 2 adults and 4 kids aged 9-13 and the TRYP fit us perfectly with some room to spare! The location was great and close to everything we wanted to do in midtown. We arrived early hoping to drop our bags off because we still had several hours until check in but were given our room key immediately. We enjoyed our stay and will return for future trips!
Room was great for 7 people! Will definitely stay here again!!!
We loved that the family room was so big. We travelled with my 3 boys 14,12,and 10 and there was plenty of room. The bathroom was also a great size including the huge shower. We could have easily come home since we live on Long Island but so glad we decided to stay.
The hotel was in a great location, close to subway and walking distance to Times Square. The room was clean, spacious and comfortable and bathroom was nice.
The room was too hot! We were there Dec 12 2014 and it was really cold outside but we had to turn the air con off as the room was so hot.
Hotel was close to the subway and attractions. Room was newly remodeled with comfortable beds and a great shower. Would definately come here again!
The location and floor level of my room were great.
Good place, nice staff, comfortable bed.
Looked like breakfast buffet was open to guests. After I sat down with food was informed it was $18. Food wasnt any better than free breakfast at competitors AND they added a table service charge for buffet service! Self serve breakfast for two...$47. Hampton Inn, included.
I absolutely loved everything about my stay here! A group of guys from California for the sole purpose of going to the New York Knicks game and the New York Giants game. We couldn't have asked for a better location! We were close to stores and shops, not to mention Times Square was just a few blocks away! Madison Square Garden was literally a 5 minute walk, we couldn't believe it! We will stay here again when it's time to take a trip to see the New York Jets!
The hospitality and willingness of the staff to help.
-Nice Large Rooms -Staff gave us a free drink coupon because the room was not available by 3 -easy to check bags while we wait for check in. -Close to everything we were doing in NYC. -Very quiet rooms - could not hear our neighbors. -Excellent Shower and bathroom -Very clean
-Room not available until after 3. -Bar staff would not allow us to use the free drink coupon for all drinks. -Had to use a key from the front desk for the lobby bathroom while we wait for our room. -Elevator stuck on 15th floor for several minutes - scared one of the girls in our group. -Very small lounge and bar area -Staff was accommodating but the bar staff seemed to be too much policy driven. When they knew we could not check in on time they should have let us have any drink we asked for. FYI - Yotel was more accommodating. -Door locked on the 15th floor - unable to see the view.
The room lay out for 6-8 family members is absolutely the best.
Room was great and was a real value!
We really had no negative experiences.
Wonderful trip to NYC. We were traveling with 4 teenagers-plenty of room for all of us. No hot water one morning but maintenance repaired it quickly. Perfect location. Very trendy.
My only complaint is that the bar closed at 11:00. We usually didnt get back to the hotel til late and would have been nice to sit and have a cocktail after a long day.
be careful some bedroom are really noisy (rain on window, motor of the heating, noise of the street....)take upper
Stayed in the Premium Family Suite, and could not believe the space. The staff was wonderful!
My family and I traveled from CO, and my brother and his family from GA, to be with my mom and sister's family for Thanksgiving. We grew up on Long Island. This hotel is a great find! We truly found the hotel to be greatly accommodating in service, comfort, and friendliness. The staff did a wonderful job showing us that we mattered. We had questions about restaurants, GF options, and more and not once did they appear to be in a rush to manage other tasks.
Nothing. It was a great experience.
The hotel was a pleasant surprise. We stayed in the family suite and it was more than large enough for four adults. The bathroom was exceptional for a hotel. We were so impressed that we booked in again on our way back home.
Several MegaBus reviews said the bus stops were out of the way, so we intentionally picked TRYP since it was within a good walking distance to the bus stops. It worked out great, dropping our luggage off and picking our luggage back up before heading off to catch our bus.
Only complaint would be, there are no restaurants or little stores to pick up a snack within eyesight of the hotel. Just something to keep in mind when you walk back to the hotel in the evening.
Excellent location, decor, cleanliness and shower!!!
The price!!! 600/night for the family room but there aren't many options for a family of 5 in Manhattan.
Familiarity with location having stayed a fortnight ago. Small, but very clean bathroom - great shower - liked the European concept of toiletries attached to the wall.
Double room had queen beds. Great location near Madison Square Garden, Penn station, Macy's Herald Square, and within walking distance to Times Square, Bryant Park, Fifth Avenue. Diners and restaurants in close proximity for breakfast. Helpful bellman.
Poor (dim) lighting. Had to unplug a lamp to use the coffee maker. No bedside lights for reading. Motion detector light in bathroom: shocking in the middle of the night. Concierge (at his station, looking at computer) told my husband he wasn't working. Turns out his shift was over and the next one didn't come in for an hour. We figured out a restaurant ourselves and made our own reservation. The street it's on is kind of iffy, but the police station next door made it seem safer. However, that meant lots of sirens.
