I did like the ocean.
I thought it was remarkable over priced. The fan in the bathroom was loud, air conditioner was loud. The wall paper was coming off the wall, the door to the shower would not close. Everything had little value but you paid a mighty price for everything!!! I will not stay there again.
The whole towel exchange thing was ridiculous and agrivating I'm sorry people are stealing your beach towels but i am not.
The location and private beach is a great thing but that's where the positive things about this "resort" end. The balcony was also a nice place to sit though not attractive looking it was nice to have.
The resort from beginning to end was not good, we pulled in and we thought we were at a travel lodge. It looked nothing like a resort and is more like a run down apartment complex or motel. There are construction vehicles in the open and wood slats and power tools just lying out where anyone can get them. Not only does it look trashy but it isn't safe and we have young boys who would surely get into these things. The room was outdated looking and decorated hastily with paint splatters on light fixtures and holes in the ceiling. The tub in the bathroom was very small too small for a shower really. The bed itself was most uncomfortable, my husband and I woke up with terrible back pain. The bed and floors were also dirty and I was unsure of the cleanliness of the room. And to top it all off we were charged almost 150 dollars for a cancellation fee for deciding not to stay the full three nights. Really a very crummy getaway for us. We will never stay here or recommend this hotel to anyone.
The view from our corner room was amazing overlooking the ocean, and the lanai area was relaxing and a special spot to eiher watch the sunset or the moon over the ocean at night. Lounging in our cabana on the beach gave a tropical feel with no hustle and bustle. Absolutely stunning!
This is our fourth trip in 20 years. They have consistently made upgrades to the rooms and facility. The staff is wonderful and very responsive. We LOVE Tween Waters.
As always, we had a great time. Not a single complaint.
The pool, breakfast and food in general we enjoyed.
We booked at $155.00 per night and we're charged $ 175.00 per night.
A great getaway for a relaxing vacation. Weather was beautiful, water just perfect. Right across the street from the gulf.
I feel charging for chairs or cabannas" is on the beach is really tacky!
too many drunks mattress's lumpy charge for beach chair
Food and service at pool bar and crows nest. Breakfast at old captiva house. Resident manatees. Very large and clean pool. Nice room overlooking bay with great bathroom and comfortable bed.
Brought my daughter and son in law to overpriced lousy dinner at old captiva house. All three entrees were not good. Steak overcooked and tough. Special fish tasted fishy and not fresh. Lobster ravioli in heavy thick sauce. Only good thing was the crab bisque. Also on the beach as a single person I was asked to pay for two chairs and an umbrella for an entire day when there was only one of me traveling as a recent widow and only wanted to take a five minute dip in the ocean. Next time I brought a towel and sat in the sand. And I stayed with you for five nights. Not acceptable.
Staff was very friendly and informative.
Tween Waters Resort is an awesome destination with the Marina and bay to the rear of the facility and the white sands of the Gulf to her front. My family had an excellent relaxing visit and can't wait to do it again.
The only negative thing was the lack of oven in the kitchenette. The setup forces you to eat out and is probably what it is meant to do.
Location is great beach is close
Beds were not comfortable
We chose this TweenWaters because of the location , the fact that it is a remote birding spot, has no mass tourism, has a quiet beach. All true! Tween Waters strengths are (in our opinion) ; Spacious modern bathroom, great bedroom, nice bay view (sunrise!). We thought the breakfast was more than can be expected of a 3star Inn. Lucious tropical vegetation everywhere. There's a Polish lady trying to sell excursions during breakfast. If you like to be adventurious ; don't go in a group and do it yourself; rent your private boat and sail to Cayo Costa yourself. Great fun worth it! We booked a boat at beach bum (on the TweenWaters Marina); $180 for 4 hours, we loved it!! We spotted many dolphins. Also in front of the hotel we've seen dolphins. Apparantly the manatees can be spotted at 6 pm at Jensens marina. We haven't seen them, although we did see many different birds.
The premises of Tween Waters look worn, but the suite itself is fine (we booked a one bedroom suite, it's the biggest suite they have, which meant the kids had to sleep on the sofa bed, a bit uncomfortable. The pool water was too warm, and pool too small for the number of guests. The day we arrived the pool was packed. Big disappointment, we didn't come back. We enjoyed the quiet sea instead and had a great time. Kids loved to play in the warm waves of the Mexican Gulf, we even swam at sunset. Magical!!
Looking out from our balcony each morning at the dolphins and manatees cavorting the the bay was a great way to start each day. The breakfasts at the restaurant on site were very good, and we passed up the free continental for the hot breakfasts, very reasonably priced and included the buffet as well. The bar was a fun place to drink and eat with the Crab Races, and the beach was a very short walk across the road, where cabana chairs and umbrella/chair setups were available at a reasonable cost if you needed them. Shelling was good, and the weather turned out nice and hot with the exception of one thunderstorm in the evening, which was fun to watch. The staff, from the reception desk to the concierge guys to the housekeeping people to the bartenders and servers, were top-notch, friendly and very helpful. Great vacation!
Having to leave! If I had unlimited resources, I'd live on Captiva or Sanibel and visit the 'Tween Waters often!
Restaurant service was spotty
Great getaway spot with everything about the trip being a great experience
Room, had a one bed king overlooking bay - very quiet, good balcony. Large bathroom. Great beach. Good Spa offering discounts and very thorough trreatments from well trained staff. Great food at Crows Nest in the evenings. Good breakfast with swift service, even at peak times. Lovely staff. Would definately go back.
Pool area a little dated and could get crowded.
Relaxing get-away with the beach just across the road. Several restaurant options within a mile from the resort. Little things matter to us, for example, while at breakfast our room would get cleaned which was awesome.
Even though the continental breakfast was included with the room, the wait staff wasn't attentive if you only did the continental. The individual checking us in wasn't familiar with the nearby amenities, such as a grocery store. Wi-Fi in the room was unreliable and weak.
Tropical experience with out the cost of travel
The towels were like sandpaper. Bring your own.
our room 306, free breakfast, free wifi, the location
wait staff at the pool, price of drinks at the pool
Love the grounds. They're well maintained and lush. The staff, especially the men on the beach are perfect! Breakfast was a great surprise-not the usual waffle maker and powder eggs.
Our room, which had a wonderful gulf view, needs some work. The bathroom fan made a terrible noise, the toilet seat slipped and the air conditioner had a mind of it's own. Still loved the view.
The grounds were beautiful. The pool and the beach were great .The continental breakfast especially the fruit and pastry were wonderful
Room was small and did not have a comfortable chair.
The room was beautiful, staff at breakfast were wonderful, front desk staff were excellent. Poolside was very nice and the burgers were great as well as the bartenders. Drinks were fantastic
The elevator did not work well for the most part. The food at the Captiva Inn was not good, taste not very good for the price.
