Let's not confuse dirty with old. Our room was clean, the hotel is just very old and lacks any fancy updates. But, in all honesty we just needed a room with a bed and we definitely got it.
Bring your own pillows
We were there for a week and they put us up on the second floor at the end of the building so it was quiet and no one walking past our window.they changed sheets and bath towels daily.I would stay here again.
The bed was old and hard The pillows were flat, bathroom was clean but didn't smell like they used bleach, very dated.
Location good, facility needs major makeover, poor bed mattress, no heat other than a portable heater that helped.
Location, good parking & walking distance from town.
location ,ceiling fan, bed was okay, feeding chipmunks outside our door
short sheets that pop loose, towels that when wet and rung out had dirty water coming out of them and made you wonder about sheets.Toilet didnt flush right, bathtub hot and cold controls are backwards, when got the heat off then wouldnt come back on,no air conditioning(glad for ceiling fan) no pool no breakfast,no ice bucket,no wifi or internet, owners Korean so dont speed english very well, place needs painted and updated really bad. price was alittle higher than booking.com showed when we booked. Overall Not Good and wont stay again.
Smell of pet urine when walk into the office. Rooms are very old and bad odor in 2 rooms I looked at. Not worth $90 Lady at counter used a spray to cover up the smell in the rooms.
The bed linens smelt fresh
The room was very small. There were dead moths in the picture frames and very dusty. Under the beds was disgusting and the floor and window seat had food crumbs. In the evening we had no hot water. The bathtub had many hairs in it. You can hear every movement from the guests up above. I would not recommend it to my friends or family. I'm a very positive person so we made the best of the situation. It was elk fest so we were lucky to find a room. They had alot available.
Everything in rooms was old and worn. Steps up to all rooms made it difficult to drag luggage up.
It was kind of shabby in terms of decor and quality of linens/towels And bedding. The ceiling fan was rickety and noisy.
Staff were friendly at check in but that's about it
The bed was about 30 years old, the towels smelled and many had holes in them, I don't think anything had been fixed or updated in years. Even when the wallpaper had been falling down they just stapled it back up. Was probably one of the worst motels we've ever stayed in
For Estes Park, the price was right. The view was really fine.
The bed was only OK, as was the bath. But if you need budget, it will be OK. I would stay again if alone, but not with my wife.
No pool. No lights on in lobby, no sign that said lobby.
I booked this via the internet and thought the reviews gave it a fair to good report. Upon arrival we found the motor lodge in a very run down condition. We were given a room on the 2nd floor and a few of the stairs leading up were very unstable, it smelled so completely of cigarette smoke we had to leave in morning. We we checked out a day early and we were charged for two days and the manager tried to charge us for three. We never were given notice of check out tim (which manager said was 10 am but it was not posted anywhere). We were then penalized and charged for a full day though we were checked out by 10:45. The carpet was torn, the towels worn, air conditioner did not work so only way to cool room was to open bathroom window. Room was too warm for comfort even with window open. The manager's verbal interaction with us was harsh. The motor lodge did not match the reviews and we feel we were deceived.
Good location in regards to seeing elk and walking to stores. bed comfortable
Electrical outlets loose from wall, wouldn't hold plug, or just didn't work. Lot of mold on bathroom ceiling. Refrigerator: couldn't put anything on the inside of door. One blanket felt like a tacky car chamois. Front desk staff wouldn't come wait on us even though they could see us. Towels were actually dirty! No AC, just a very dusty box fan. Moved bed a few inches and found the only vacuumed between beds, not going under at all.
The close proximity to the bugling elk was terrific.
The flooring, tile work, countertops, etc. could stand to be updated
Ceiling needed to be painted in bathroom
Ok for 100$
Great location. Quick walk to centre of town
Place is old and tired.
Location, cleanliness, price.
No air conditioning--only a ceiling fan. No elevator to second floor. Facilities in need of updating, painting, etc. Microscopic soap.No blackout curtains meant much light into room at night.
proximity to town
just showing age
The view from room and entire area was great. Area was quiet
The room was old and felt like a jail cell. No pictures, old furniture, old and not refurbished. The main office could have been beautiful but owners have laid personal stuff and junk around. Whole place is in need of a refurbish.
very poor management hotel. poor service, stink smell in the room, very cheap supplier in the room, dangerous fan moving on the ceiling, when turned it on. this hotel should be removed from the booking, otherwise,it will hurt your business.
There was so much noise from other guests that we could not sleep. It was nice a long time ago. Very old and run down.
This motor lodge is your basic good value deal. Things we like about Twin Owls is the staff was excellent, friendly, helpful and responsive in every way. The cleaning staff was especially friendly and fun. The room was always cleaned efficiently and when extra was requested our needs were met quickly. The two sink areas was helpful with 3 adults preparing for the Scottish games which was our reason for attending. The location was excellent access to Main Street for extra shopping, evening meals and then close to Fairgrounds. Seeing the Elk herd at the golf course, the mountain view and lucky rainbow made for great experience as well.
Let me say first, None of our issues are major. There was a slight mold problem in the bathroom area which is a challenge in Colorado especially with this years rainfall. Paint was chipped and peeling on bathroom ceiling. We could have used an additional waste basket. Parking area needs new stripping.
I liked its proximity to the fairgrounds, where I had to be, and how close it was to the downtown business district for shopping and dining. I loved being able to stand outside my door and see the deer and elk.
The place could use a fresh coat of paint, but other than that, there isn't much that was a concern. I actually enjoyed being there.
walking distance to downtown and lake estes. Good value.
rooms are dated and could hear neighbors above us.
When we arrived we just got are key and left then came ga k at night, when we got back we notice dirty towels in bath room, fridge makes loud noise , went to get in the bed in one of them and stains like pee all over sheets inside. Other bed clean but very hard like a rock by the window is a cushin that had food all in it very gross place
