They required me to email a copy of my driver's license and credit card to confirm the reservation. If they hadn't been represented by Bookings.Com I wouldn't have done it. They forgot to email me the address and instructions for getting into the apartment. The person who was supposed to meet us wasn't there at the appointed time. I guess he was in the building, and luckily we speak the language of the someone leaving the building who seemed to be the cleaner and she found him for us. Five hours after we checked in, the office called us to ask us when we were going to check in. Texts regarding checking out got answers that didn't match the question. The deposit was supposed to be returned in 14 days. On day 15 I called for an update and it seems that they then issued the refund. We'll see. It hasn't hit our bank yet. And what's the justification for holding onto our deposit for two weeks anyway?
Nice amount of space, two master bedrooms, nice location.

We was in flat No. 518, it was nice, clean, balcony (no big view, just to other roof) and garage. Flat well equipped, waschmachine, drywasching machine, microwawe owen, gas cook stove, flatiron, aircond, etc. Two bedrooms, two bathrooms, one livingroom with kitchen.

The staff left us waiting for 1 hour to check us in, even before we arranged the check in time. Once they got there, they were kind.

We were a bunch of British military lads travelling from East coast to West coast of America and this was out final stop. There was a deposit put down on the property and I'm still waiting on getting my 250 USD deposit back. I've emailed the company twice now and it's been 2 and a half weeks with no reply and no returned deposit. I've been given no information on where to go next as I'm not familiar with the system in the USA and I'm unable to call as I'm now back in the UK.

they charge 90 dollar for clean fee, but no room clean serves during 4 days. the water boiler was dirty.
good location, only take 5 mins walk to beach. Staff was friendly.

A bit noisy due to the traffic on the street so take your earplugs with you to ensure a good night sleep.
Very comfortable apartment with all the facilities necessary for an independent stay. Close to shops and beach.

They over charge me but then after I complain they refund what it was over charge. But we did have a few issues that I asked them and I never receive an answer: - We booked a non-smoking apartment and clearly it was a smoking apartment, the smell of cigars were really strong and it did stay for the whole 4 days that we were there; - On the booking our check-in it was supposed to be at 3.00pm but we could just check-in at 5.00pm due to housekeeping didn't finish in time their job, so we had to wait to check-in; - and also as soon we got in the apartment the dining table was broke, really broke, one of the legs was broke we couldn't use at all, I ask the housekeeper about that and she told me that they would fix on the next day and it never happened and since is an apartment and we book online the only way to contact them is by phone or email, on the following day that we check-in I sent a message about the table to the person responsible for the booking and I didn't get an aswer as well.
Location is for sure the best factor of this apartment.

There was no instruction on where to meet and who to meet on our first day of arrival from Singapore. Since they know we are coming from Singapore and that the apartment has no prominent building name or address and no reception counter for registration. They should have given us clear instruction or information on that. It took us 3 hours going round in Taxi and waiting to meet 1 of their representatives on the street. The lady that met up with us is a non English speaking who couldn't explain anything to us in English. We having had to speak to a Gentleman over the phone whom liaised with us throughout our stay. The kettle in the apartment was broken and we asked for a replacement. It never came despite promise. The Gentleman on the phone promised that the deposit will be refunded to us within 2-3 days after we checked out. Guess what? It is almost a month, we have yet to receive it. And i have to contact him 2 - 3 times to remind him plus a reminder email to Pelican. I am still waiting....
The apartment with 2 bed rooms is comfortable. The rooms are of reasonable size with comfortable beds except for the small bath room. There is a Supermarket, Vons right in front of the apartment. That is super convenient. And the well known 3rd Street shopping mall is within walking distant. The location is quiet and peaceful except it has no scenery or view from the apartment's balcony or bedrooms. That is fine depending on what you expect or purpose of the stay.

The check-in process was a bit confusing as we weren't told where to go initially. There were a few phone calls involved but once we were in, everything was grand. I recommend providing a kettle for the international visitors - we were able to use the coffee machine to make hot water but a kettle would have been handier. But most places we stayed in had a coffee machine and no kettle. This must be an american thing!
It was very close to 3rd street! And the sea. The apartment was small, cosy, and modern. Parking was available. We stayed in 6 different places when we were in California and out of all of them, this was by far the best. Would recommend it to anyone staying in Santa Monica.

Lack of contact prior to arrival regarding location of apartment. We had to ring them on arrival and departure whereby we were told to Lock key in apartment.

they miss represented everything from price to service. No one at the location to let you in, very unprofessional. The lock on the door didn't work so the room wasn't secure properly. Spent 45 minutes on the phone trying to connect with the representative to let us in. I could go on and on but it would not help. Booking.com has to take some responsibility for this as well.

The location of Pelican Suites was excellent, just a short walk to the shopping mall,the beach and restaurants. There is a supermarket across the road which is also very convenient. The room was clean, comfortable, great size and in a safe area. Jessica who picked us up from the airport was fabulous and gave us great insight to the area and made us feel so welcome. Would definitely recommend.

The check-in was an absolute shambles. Through emails I had prearranged to meet at 3pm - nobody was there! Was not given a legitimate address, the address on my email was 'The Chase Building'. After 'The Chase Building' employee contacted The Manager, Dave, at Pelican Stay, he informed me they, "don't normally give the immediate address out". After locating the building, the access code to the main lobby area didn't work; it didn't work the whole time of our 4 day stay. We were a family of four; two adults and two kids who could only access the building via the back alley. This is the thing that annoyed me the most. Dave had no regard for our safety at night, accessing a building via a dark alley at night is not ideal when there are homeless people in the area. Not once did Dave front up and sort this out. Upon entering the apartment we found the kitchen to be dirty; filthy oven encased in fat, dirty floor, food left from previous tenants in fridge, dirty dishes in dishwasher, waste disposal unit blocked, dirty towels in washing machine. After complaining to Dave, cleaners were sent out who were very obliging and cleaned up the kitchen. I had specifically booked a foldout bed and extra bedding for my son; no bedding was provided. The foldout bed wasn't a foldout bed, it was a series of large cushions that were laid on the floor and had to be made up each night. Cleaner had to make a special trip to get the bedding late at night. Apartment was eventually cleaned for us and was ready about 8:30pm that night. Dave offered compensation and the cleaning bond back for this and said, "its not a good look for our international customers". No kidding! I sent photos of the dirty kitchen to their Head Office and Dave - no response whatsoever. No apology - nothing. Thankfully I managed to get my security bond back. We had prepaid our accommodation on our Visa so really regret that.

Poor correspondence with booking agent we were left waiting for the unit keys for almost an 1hr after informing agent on 3 separate occasions about our late arrival time. Only 2 towels in the unit and NO Toilet paper or any kind of washing soap - disappointing when we arrived at 11.30pm! We did find extra towels in the dryer unit after 3 days! No info booklet re locale, doctors, shops, what to do etc

The wifi didn't work to start with, but the staff were very efficient in resolving the problem.
The appartment was right opposite Wholefoods and a 2 minute walk to great shopping on 3rd street. The beach was also just down the road, about a 5 minute walk. The appt was well fitted with plenty of light and in a nice modern condominium. Having underground free parking in the block with elevator up to the appt. was greatly appreciated!

Asked specifically for the fold out sofa to be made up. Not only was it not made up, it was broken. One of us had to sleep on the actual sofa - very uncomfortable and very feeble attempt to do anything about it. We were told we would be compensated but are still waiting. Shame they are so unreliable because it is in a fantastic location and has the potential to be very good.
Location was fantastic. Jessica who picked us up was very friendly and helpful.

There were five adults with only one key. I was told after the fact that I would have had to request additional keys prior to arrival, even a hotel gives quests 2 keys. Price was expensive, with cleaning fees, taxes, etc. Over $500.00 a day is a little steep.
Clean, comfortable living space. Close to the area where we wanted to stay. Appreciated the kitchen, washer & dryer, and parking accommodations on site.
