This was the first time at this hotel. My stay here made my stressful business event tolerable. It was elegantly decorated for Christmas with music not to mention comfortable bed, complimentary wine, cheese and milk and cookies. Breakfast was great as well. Looking forward to coming back to this rustic wonderful place.
Didn't feel like a hotel at all was like being a guest in a home. Had a ton of charm but with modern and clean bathrooms.
I loved the room, the location (at the edge of historic OLD SALEM), the staff, the wine and cheese, the hot breakfast, and knowing it is always going to be a great choice of where to stay!
My room was not available at 3 PM, which is check-in time, but I was comfortable waiting in the parlor.
The concept of an Inn established in a warehouse/cotton mill is very creative. The location was very convenient and the bi level arrangement worked well. The bathroom, needed renovating, but was large. The manager of the attached Visitor Center was extremely helpful.
We were in room 156 and it needed renovating. The room next door was in the process and we were awakened two mornings, at 7:30 am, to the sound of drilling/sawing? and door slamming. The bed was awful and paint was peeling around the large windows.
Loved the location and the building is a nice historic building with charm. The exposed brick and very very large room was so nice. I would stay there again for sure!!
Not enough mirror or good lighting. Also note staying on the 4th floor was a great hideaway but you must take the elevator to the 3rd floor and walk up a flight of stairs to the fourth floor. NOT GOOD!!!
Location and the renovations.
No WiFi for android users. Breakfast was just ok.
Great location, non_ corporate feel
Squeaky bathroom door in 401. Large room needs more table lamps
Location staff history of building
not enough cups in room lighting was poor temperature was hard to regulate
The grounds were really nice especially at night!
The staff was very professional, suite we stayed in was very clean and well decorated to the period. Food was good, dining facilities were better than most comparable hotels we have stayed at.
The very large security warning that was in the Hotels room information packet. The procedures for your safety gave a great concern for leaving and entering the hotel day or night.
When we arrived the employee had trouble finding our reservation. Then another associate came and resolved the problem.
We liked the warmth of the staff, the unusual room, the happy hour and cookie hour, the ease in checking in and out.
We couldn't get wifi on our Nook tablet.
The pillows were the best ever
We have stayed here several times in the last 2 year. Each time it has been pleasant with helpful staff.
Attended a wedding on site, very convienient
Something was wrong with ac in room, room had a mildew like smell
The hotel is a repurposed old factory. Tall ceiling, tall windows, exposed brick, very cool! The room had not just a sitting "area", it was an entire separate sunken living room. The location was great, easy walking distance to lots of cool restaurants.
Our room had a door to the room next to it. We heard our neighbors laughing and having a great time very clearly, like we were in the same room with them, until the wee hours. It ruined the entire experience of staying in this awesome place. If I ever come back I will demand to have a more secluded room or I will find somewhere else to stay.
This is a charming, comfortable, lovely hotel. Our room was large, clean and basic. TV is old and small but other than that it was great.
Old, small tv
Historic hotel, beautiful patio, includes continental breakfast, wine and cheese in the afternoons, cookies and milk in the evenings. Walking distance to Old Salem historic site and downtown restaurants. Le Meridien is across the street and so is a great Italian restaurant.
The architecture, the ample space, the decor
Rug in room was caked with dirt in one area
We loved the cookies and milk hour!
We did not feel welcomed when we were checking out. The man was busy chatting with his coworkers.
It was cozy and we enjoyed our stay very much.
The rooms need ceiling fans to push the cooling down. The air conditioner just couldn't keep up. Never got below 78 in our room.
It was a nice little hotel.
Bugs! Huge roaches in the hallway, some dead, some alive. Spiders in the bathroom.
It was amazing!!
Very beautiful interior/furnishment, huge room, sympathetic house cat, loved the wine testing in the evening.
Quite poor breakfast buffet & internet on android phones does not work
