Jersey City - I would stay in Newport, Jersey City again.
Jersey City - I would stay in Newport, Jersey City again. I've stayed NYC but would only stay in Jersey City in the future. Jersey City is clean, modern and reflects the calmer side of life rather than getting caught up in the noise of NYC. Great transport links to NYC by PATH, ferry and bus.
The shopping mall had some great restaurants and eateries offering rustic bread sandwiches, salad bowls and ramen bowls.
There's an Indian grocery store on 10th Street offering THE VERY BEST Indian food I've ever tasted. It's a must do while you're in Newport.

We decided to stay in jersey city after a day in New York as it was very quick travel and got us closer to Liberty State Park for the next day. To find a hotel with free parking and access to our car was key. Not having to drag your suitcase down the streets from your payed parking spot was a nice luxury to have. Jersey city is only 6 miles from midtown Manhattan and 6 miles from Liberty state park. After the statue of liberty, Jersey city has a KPot which is a must try or go if you've been before! AYCE!!!!

If you want to visit Manhattan every day the PATH (basically a metro, going to Jersey) is the way to go if you will use public transport.
BUT! If you are a foreigner check first how the foreign credit/debit cards work (or better to say how they are not) with the ticket wending machines.... they are funny things and usually do not accept cash.

We actually visited NYC for most of our stay, but it was a nice convenient option to balance the cost of staying right in the city, and easy access into the city. The people in the area (beyond just the hotel staff) were nice, friendly, and helpful. Enjoyed the stay!

For me as a visitor from Europe Jersey City is the perfect place to stay when visiting NYC. On one hand you have this marvelous view of downtown Manhattan - on the other hand you have a lot of shopping options at the nearby mall within Jersey City. Taking a boat trip to Manhattan and back is wonderful. Jersey City is a lot less stressful than Manhattan as a place to stay overnight. I love it here.

It was a great cheaper alternative to staying in NYC.
It was a great cheaper alternative to staying in NYC. We were going to a concert at the Brooklyn Steel pier so with traffic it was about 40 minutes to get there on a Saturday night, but we hung out in Brooklyn for a while before the show. In the morning, we went to Liberty State Park and saw the Statue of Liberty and a 911 memorial (you can take the ferry from this park to the Statue of Liberty) The bathrooms at this park were very well kept and the whole park was big and beautiful. On the way back home we stopped at Wonder Bagels which was crowded but worth the wait. Lots of shops around and it looks like a lot is being done to enhance the area.
The location of this hotel is excellent! Just opposite lower Manhattan, with a breathtaking view. The room is very spacious, in our case with 2 x approximately 1.30 meter wide, very comfortable beds. It is quiet outside, and you can even open the window for fresh air. It is only 2 min walk from the hotel entrance to the Exchange place PATH (metro) Station which takes you to Oculus and Would Trade center in only 4 minutes. The restaurant and bar a has fantastic view of Manhattan. It is unbeatable!
The hotel is new, clean and well decorated. It is a really nice place to stay. It is quiet and the bed is very comfortable. We loved breakfast. It is just 15 minutes from WTC and about 30 from the Empire state building by train. The PATH train is 1 minute walk from the hotel.
There was a problem with the heating and customer service was awesome. They brought us a heater and invited us to complementary breakfast during our stay. We loved every part of it.
It’s a small unnoticeable place in the heart of Jersey City. The India culture is refreshing to experience there. I never felt threatened or worried about security. Short walking distance to the PATH subway to New York . I’m a bigger person but yet we still able to make the hike every time I visited here.
Very clean place, staff was great and ver professional. All needs/requests met. Would definitely stay here again without question. Local food recommendations from staff were also amazing. Hotel itself is a tad dated but that didn’t affect any part of our stay whatsoever.
in my life saw this place only worst. Smell very bad , rooms equipment terrible. Bed is terrible. When I open blanket all hair on bed sheet. I don’t know who is checks this hotel and giving permit to be a hotel. Health department should check this place.
The hotel suite was very nice. The staff were superb. The location was an UBER ride away ( about $11 each way) from the “PATH” to NYC. The location itself seemed a bit sketchy as far as walking or being beyond the property without a car.
We got more than we expected, nice little hotel, breakfast is great, staff is kind and helpful, it is around 10 minutes walk to the Newport PATH train station which takes you to World Trade Center NYC.
Hotel location is extremely good, since it is just a few minutes by foot to Journal Square train station, so it is very easy to commute.
Room was big and bright, there was a small kitchen.
Nice place to stay (close to Newport and Exchange Place Path Stations), plenty of eating choices, Target and Wholefoods close to the hotel, self parking, newly renovated, very gentle staff
The best view to Manhathan outside the hotel and from breakfast room. Comfortable and clean rooms, helpful staff. Everything was perfect, we really enjoyed our stay!
Mainly chosen for the location which is handy for walks along the river and the metro. Otherwise the hotel was clean and the room was comfortable and staff helpful.
