Great price. Great rooms. Comfortable. Exactly what I needed. Perfect for Brookkyn that is more about what you're doing than where you're staying.
The noise level was high. It wasn't that people were trying to make noise, it's that the building is old and the first floor is on a cement slab.
The staff was very nice. The hotel and our room was clean, quiet, and well organized.
It was a blistering cold evening and the heating in the room was not sufficient. Would flicker on and off even when it was still cold in the room. Our full size bed was actually two springy twin mattresses pushed together.
iPod box ...I charge my phone in
The beds were comfortable, the room was chic - nice art work & wall decor. Easy walk to union st subway. All in all good place to sleep & affordable.
Small shower. Thin walls I could hear the ppl in the next room clearly. No mini refrigerator or microwave.
Staff friendliness, value for money, location.
Room was small, but totally clean. The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful to me and my fiance. The Union Hotel is close proximity to the train stations and the bars at 5th ave. Amazing! It sure gave me a workout. Recommended!
Free late ck out at 2 p.m. Comfortable and clean bathroom Breakfast: good choise and good products and extended time 7-11 Free coffee at the basement 'kitchen' Free 2 bottles of water in the Room Room facing on the backyard very quiet Free and safe lugagge Room
No radiator into the bathroom neither ventilator Room ridicolously little A/C very noisy, don't think to sleep without earplugs Bed only for short men (max.175 cm) Hotel with no facilities at all, better to call it apartments with cleaning service and caretaker
Not much room but it was perfect for us to sleep & enjoy the night; we explored the city during the day. Location is located on a subway line so we was able to travel with ease & a block away from 5th Ave. Staff was very helpful with questions.
The bed was super soft.
Staff Location Bathroom
Small Room Breakfast( You have to go Out in the street for two blocks and it's not a good hotel breakfast)
I like the location, the staff and the simplicity. Its a small but you don't need much space so it was just the right size for us.
It was very quiet. Nice area, nice room. Nice flat screen television.
The space in the room. It got really cold at night. The shower space was very small my partner and I had to shower separately. Speaker did not work.
staff was very rude rooms was cold when was very very small and theres is never know manager inside to speak to poor very poor
The location is good, close to the subway in "up and coming " neighborhood with good restaurants and shops. Good atmosphere. Breakfast included at diner around the corner, super solution. Iconic view of Manhattan from the room.
We liked the location of the hotel, it was clean. Downside which wasn't a big deal for us: temperature in the room hard to maintaint at a confortable state, then of course it is small rooms, but european hotel are small as well so we were fine with it. And the wifi, we didn't really needed it, but it comes on and off non stop, so if you planned of working skyping and stuff, its maybe not the best. They can still improve it. Overall I would go back tomorrow.
If you are looking for a nice, quiet place to stay for sleeping and taking showers, this is the place for you. The rooms are really nice. They are small, but in NYC most hotel rooms are small. But like I said, if you are planning on going out all day and just need a convenient place to stay, this place is perfect. The hotel staff is very nice and helpful. They offer a free breakfast voucher at a cute little cafe right around the corner. I couldn't get over how quiet this place was! Perfect after being gone all day walking around and coming in exhausted. For the price, I really wasn't expecting much, but I was pleasantly surprised at how nice and quaint the hotel is. I will definitely stay there again and again.
There isn't a lot of amenities, as far as a mini fridge or an ice machine.
Great location! Breakfast included at diner very close by! Yes, rooms are small but is not bad if you are traveling by yourself or for couples! Very clean, staff very friendly and helpful! Would book again!
Took my money tow weeks before I arrived even though I had cancellation rights. Seemingly second-hand towels, mismatched. No kitchen, no washing machine, loud door closings, thin walls, often broken elevator, weak lighting (none above sink) no double glazing (noise of trucks). Poor cable TV (limited channels and poor signal. No CNN) Cheap furniture, loud heater... and so on.
This man running the breakfast place.
The service, service and the service.
the size of the room is incredibly small. There is no space to put your bags in the floor. The bed was cuted in a corner so that the door could open/close.
location and style
I didn't mind the size of the room but, since I stayed one night, alone, I could have used a smaller bed and closet, and a little more floor space The bathroom was very nice.
What can I say other than, 2 blocks from the R Train which takes to to the World Trade Center, the staff where great, very friendly. One block to 5th Street and you are in restaurant heaven.
Sympathetic breakfast diner, got ouzo for breakfast, why not. Overall nice staff, Brooklyn Museum etc. in reach, room was clean and had an Iphone 4 dock which is nice.
Very small rooms, not really cheap
The personal is quite good, friendly, helpful. The hotel seems to be clean.
The size of the room was a complete lie on the pictures we saw. We were three people travelling, one "double" room and one "single" room. In fact it was the same room, no difference. The size of the room was like that two people couldn't be out of bed parallel. One had to sit in bed in order the other could move. The room door couldn't be open completely since the bed was standing in front of the door. Two suitcases didn't fit in the room. Only if you put them on top of each other. In other words, the room was less than 10qm, and the bed alone was covering 70% of this room.
Very good Wifi. Free breakfast at the local restaurant was great.
Tiny tiny room. Asked for an upper floor, but was given the 1st floor. Neighborhood a little isolated at night.
Staff was accomodating
Bed was so-so
