the bed so cool
the room so small and i wish you have open Buffet . why there is no refrigerator.
The hotel is conveniently located 5 minute walk from the subway line - just a couple stops away from Manhattan. The breakfast is served in a very nice diner with a friendly staff. 10 minute walk from Barclay's arena/shopping center and 20 minute walk from Prospect Park.
Not a king size bed, just two twins pushed together!
simple and as expected so no surprise, no fuss breakfast place
The AC made too much noise and the bed madras was wrapped in some kind of plastic so you get all sweaty when you sleep.
My second visit there, I stayed 12 nights this time. Staff are really welcoming, hotel rooms are tidied well every day. As I prefer Brooklyn to Manhattan, the location is perfect. The breakfasts at the nearby cafe are good. I like the roof terrace. I also like the style of the hotel.
Aircon is a bit noisy and rooms are not big but I don't mind that. Walls are thin but the other guests were quiet. You get what you pay for!
Bed too soft and air con too nosiy
Close to the subway station, (aprox. 40 minutes till midtown manhattan). The room was small , but clean and the beds really comfortable. The breakfast is good.
Price was great. Rooms are very small but if you like to stay in your hotel room a lot this is not the place.
Everything looked modern and well-appointed. The staff was pleasant, and the breakfast at the diner down the street was good.
I could touch the walls. No real room at all, but had everything I needed.
Position - Staff - Breakfast included....excelent, to the Station Cafe!!!! Thank you to Tim and the black air blue eyes girl!!!!
Tiny rooms, makes you clausiphobic.
I had a good experience at Union Hotel. Comfy bed & friendly staff. Room was really good value for money in NY terms.
It is a bit far out from the city. Ended up paying a lot for cabs but subway is accessible if one is one a budget. There wifi in my room was really bad but great everywhere else in the hotel. There is a nice rooftop but u are not allowed to drink alcohol, smoke or make any noise on it so not actually a great place to hang out.
Some staff were very pleasant.
Too dark corridors Too small room Noisy neighborhood and in room air condition Overall, management needs to improve service to a more professional level. The place is run like a hostel..
The neighborhood was great. Only about a 10 minute walk to a major subway station, that has several services that go into Manhattan. The free breakfast is a plus!!
Room was extremely small, but this wasn't much of an issue, as I was only there to sleep and to take a shower.
The Brooklyn location and access to the train was a plus. The option of breakfast at a local Diner was very nice instead of the usual cold continental breakfast..
Overall the room lighting and bathroom lighting was insufficient. The addition of a reading lamp did help near the bed.
Location, staff, roof, beds, breakfast.
Only having one night to stay.
Easy to reach- quick check in The bathroom was almost the same size as the room it has plenty to of space. Place was quiet no kids running around or noisy guests
The room itself is very small but having read the reviews I knew this before choosing this hotel. It was not a problem for me but some others may find it too small.
The staff was genuinely courteous and helpful. The location to the Union Station Subway R train was extremely convenient (located in front of the Station Diner.). The free breakfast at the Station Diner was excellent. The food was typical NYC coffee shop fair without the grease. If you need a place to sleep well and clean up after a day of playing hard in NYC, and not break the bank, then the Union Hotel is the place for you. Wireless access was generally Okay. We were located on the fourth floor so occasionally we experienced a little Internet latency. Again, the Union Hotel is good place to stay, made possible by the hard working people that make it so.
Having all the local channels and better cable TV station choices would have been nice but really not necessary.
That is was close to my function. The picture of the bridge on the wall in my room.
The lady checking us in. The rooms were tiny. The beds were smaller than they told us and what was on the website. The parking on the street was very limited. The free breakfast was in another location at a restaurant that you had to go outside and walk to. There was no microwave or refrigerator in the room. There was no cable on the tv and the picture quality was poor.
The room had a great view of Lower Manhattan skyline. The staff went out of their way to help. The room and hotel was clean and nice. And very reasonably priced. Planning a similar trip to stay at Union Hotel just based on our first experience.
- close to subway - good breakfast
- noise from air condtioning was very loud - poor soundproofing between rooms
